In 2014 my rent was $1230/mo, in 2015 it increased to $1245/mo in 2015, with heat and hot water included. I paid $35-$65/mo for electricity (Eversource), and $35-55 for internet (Comcast). The living room had a wall-unit A/C which kept the living room cool, and with fans to help air-flow kept the upstairs cool. The basement kept naturally cool in the summer. (My basement sliding doors were in the shade from 10am on.) In the winter, the basement was a bit cool near the outside wall (socks were necessary), but otherwise the apartment kept very toasty. The staff were very helpful. I locked myself out 3 times (during office hours) and each time they very promptly drove over with me or lent me a key. After that I did make a copy of my key, which is allowed. If you lock yourself out when the office is closed, it's a $50 call to the locksmith. The online bill payment system is great - responsive on computer and mobile, and very easy to use. I lived in the apartment above the row's furnace, etc. and one night it started making weird clunking noises. I called the emergency maintenance phone number and they got someone over to repair it within 90 minutes. My neighboring residents were a stable presence. There was a college-aged couple, several older couples, and at least 2-3 families with young kids in our row. I saw only one of them move out in my 2 years there. There were maybe 1-2 moving trucks a month in the larger vicinity that I saw, but in general, turnover didn't seem particularly high for a large community of rental properties. Also, the soundproofing between apartments is excellent. I never heard my neighbors unless they were vacuuming and we both had our windows open. The gym at the clubhouse is available to all Santini residents. It was always kept neat and clean, and it's 24 hours. I went at random times, and in general there would be 0-5 other people there. Enough to be friendly, but not crowded and no fighting over the machines. Snow-plowing was always very prompt, especially salting of the steps. They clear out the visitor spaces and then everyone moves their cars there so they can plow the main parking spaces. It would happen at 8 or 9am, so not compatible with sleeping in, but worth it to have a nice clear lot. Trick-or-treating is also nice. You grab a sign from the office during October, and on Halloween if you want trick-or-treaters, you put it on your door, otherwise you're left alone. Kids from the complex and other nearby complexes come around, so it's not an overwhelming amount of kids, but enough to make it satisfying to give out candy. I did sometimes find some house centipedes in the basement as the weather turned cooler, but they are harmless. Also, while some areas of grass are nicely maintained, my back area was a smaller strip that got less attention, and did become a bit dry and weedy during the high months of summer. The kitchen was a bit small in terms of counterspace, but it was manageable so long as I didn't let the dishes pile up. The shower drain also had a weird design that made it a bit difficult to pull out hair that accumulated. In general, pretty minor complaints. Since at least March 2014, there is a specific Model Home apartment for the Woodbrook apartments that Santini takes prospective tenants to tour. That means you don't have strangers tramping through your home after you decline to renew your lease. Overall, I loved my apartment here. The staff was friendly and helpful, the apartment was spacious (that basement!!!!!), had big windows, lots of parking space, and the gym and pool were always well maintained. I'm sad to move, but a new job in a new state awaits! 3 weeks after my lease end-date, I have received my full security deposit back with no problems.

What we love especially about living in the coplex is how good the staffs are about maintaining the complex. As soon as it snows, they are the first ones to clean the snow and salt the grounds. When we have even a smallest issues, they are here to fix it. We also noticed they garden and cleaning the roof and all the windows every year leaving this place absolutely gorgeous! The staff also throws few parties a year with food and alcohol and we have been so impressed by the amount of care they put into taking care of this place. The neighbors are really quiet and friendly and the place has a common area with wifi, gym, and an outdoor pool that is available during the summer seasons with a life guard on duty.

The maintenance team kept the grounds, common areas and specifically my apartment in excellent condition. I had very few issues-frozen kitchen pipe during the last crazy winter, unclogging a bathroom sink drain-and everything was taken care of quickly, politely and effectively. The office staff was always friendly and helpful. One time I thought I left a burner on during my rush out to work, and I called the office staff for help. They were happy to send maintenance staff to check, and they were cheerful and accommodating then and always. When I moved in, my apartment was super clean and in great condition. They didn't cut any corners, and they paid attention to detail. I always felt safe, my neighbors were respectful, and parking was super convenient and easy. I only moved out so I could live with my boyfriend and he would have an easy commute. I have lived in a lot of rentals, and Mount Vernon Apartments was really the best experience I have had.

First, there's Natasha in the main offices, she always goes above and beyond her duties to make sure her tenants are well taken care of. I can attest to that first hand, and I know from talking to my neighbors that she is 100% a superstar property manager. I've lived in a few different apartment complexes in the past, and I've had my share of dealings with different property managers. Ms. Swift is the most helpful and sincere property manager I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Second, the property itself is pretty awesome too. The grounds are well kept, the hallways are clean, warm and smell nice, and the amenities are by far, the best in Manchester. Thanks to "The Place" I have no interest in ever purchasing a house again, I will never shovel and I will never mow, and I love them for that. Our driveways are always cleared from snow before I even wake up to go to work, and they always keep them clear and safe even in the middle of a bad snowstorm. You can't beat the location, nobody else has an indoor pool, and there's not a property in New England that has a better manager than Natasha IMO. 10/10 would recommend!

The entire complex feels like a relaxing resort and everyone loves walking around to take it all in. I thoroughly enjoyed walks with my kid, and going for runs myself since it connects to the Hockanum trail. Staff: Amazing staff who have been managing the grounds for many years. The manager I interacted with primarily, Sabrina, was receptive to feedback and had the maintenance staff address any issues with your unit with a quick turnaround time. When I first moved in, I wanted to make some modifications to my unit and they did it right away and without charging me a penny. Cost: You truly get your bang for your buck here. Every unit has its own privately connected garage and tons of storage space. You even have your own private front entrance. It felt more like a condo than an apartment. My unit had 2 balconies as well and a HUGE walk in closet which I miss so much!! Thank you to the Mansions community for making my stay there truly memorable. I will continue referring folks to the complex. Please keep up the great work of making the residential experience as luxurious as its name :)

Renting a two bedroom in the back of the complex, I find The Mansions to be an exceptionally well run living space. There is a 24-hour gym, heated indoor pool, garages in many of the units and easy access to I-84. The entrance to the complex is right next to Vernon's fabulous Cumberland Farms, which gives us a nice easily accessed convenience store, just in case. Management is responsive and considerate. They have a round the clock number for maintenance emergencies. Management also schedules social events for residents as mixers. All in all, The Mansions is an excellent complex and a nice place to live. I'm very satisfied.

The office staff is very welcoming, the maintenance staff is incredible and super friendly and the property is always in pretty decent shape! Although it sometimes takes a little while for items to be replaced/fixed, it is only because they are always so busy! We have been here for 10 months and have never had any serious issues and definitely considering renewing our lease. If you're looking for an affordable apartment with a cute dog park and great outdoor pool, definitely consider The Springville Mills!

They went and got a giant dumpster that has been sitting in the parking lot and is a giant eye sore and stink pit. I assume it was placed as they gave a notice they were cleaning the 5th floor hallway people have taken to using as storage. Well it has been a month and a half they have had this additional dumpster placed and it is FULL. like full full. And stinky. Sooo stinky. Not pleased. Our downstairs bathroom is birthing winged flies from the drain or something. The door is kept closed 24/7 to keep the bugs from flying around. Gross. Just got an electric bill for $250, yikes. Keep the place at 72 and unplug unnecessary appliances yet the bill was still astronomical. I assume this is in part from the 2 bedroom apartment being a loft style. You can't close off any rooms to reduce the a/c part of the bill. As much as I try to not have an issue with these apartments due to other reasons than the actual building, I just can't be happy or pleased with the amount of money paid for rent while dealing with these nonsense issues. Locked in my apartment due to a faulty dead bolt. Maintenance tried fixing it and broke it in the process. Now waiting 3 DAYS for it to be fixed. The dead bolt doesn't lock. It's the only lock. SAFETY, HELLO?!??? So now the door handle doesn't open either. Emergency line is bullshit. Maintenance calls saying can't do anything till the part comes in. Wow. Unacceptable. Save yourself. Go somewhere else. If it wasn't for a random door to a shady floor that even the elevator doesn't go to I would be stuck in here, obviously NOT the kind of place I want to be stuck in. Can't even fix the blinds they said they would fix since day one, why should I expect anything more??? Why should you?!? You shouldn't. Live somewhere else. Really.

It was a rocky start with the first property managers(s) but the current property manager is amazing! She goes above and beyond to help and accommodate the tenants and make all feel like family as well as make sure the property is clean and well maintained. I cannot express how impressive the units are, family and friends are shocked every time they walk into my apartment. Heat and HW are included, I have never run out of hot water and the heat is NOT regulated as I have experienced in the past at other apartments. I am the type of person who is never quite satisfied and moves around about every1.5/2 years, I do not see myself leaving LCL anytime soon!

The maintenance team is always responsive to individual needs. A particular standout is Kerri, who manages the property. Kerri was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the move in process, from applying to moving in. I was sad to leave the High Meadow community due to some family reasons that necessitated a move back home, but Kerri was compassionate and understanding. It truly felt like Kerri and the High Meadow community cared about me as a person and not just as a tenant. I will fondly remember my time there and the kindness that I received. I HIGHLY recommend moving here if you are seeking a great place and community to call home.

Kerri and Phil are great (Phil complains, wants to retire and move away, and you hear that from him…read moreconstantly...) but overall, decent, quiet place to live. I think it caters mostly to the older population. No real amenities. Dog park, yes, but it's filthy, volleyball net, but no one ever uses it, basketball court, yes, but no hoops. No washer/dryers in units. In addition to your rent, get ready to pay for MANDATORY WIFI ($70/month, garbage: $25/month, parking, $25/month. Right now, they have "specials" because they cannot rent their available units, so they are waiving those fees. PLUS, there is a $300 "admin" fee for moving in, on top of the $27 application fee. The rents, for what you get and its location are very high. Compare to other neighboring towns, that actually have amenities like pools, washer/dryers in the unit, 2 air conditioners, bigger, more modern apartments. I'm not talking "a little cheaper" than High Meadow, I'm talking $400-$500 less per month! Kerri's rationale is "Ellington is expensive"...not that expensive considering no restaurant will deliver all the way out to High Meadow, so you are stuck having to go out at least 15 minutes each way to grab dinner if you don't feel like cooking! I think Navarino wants to sell the place. They are not putting any money into the look of the property. Windows/sliders are OLD and drafty, the entire property is non-smoking, which is great if you are a non-smoker, but as soon as Kerri leaves, all the smokers come out, including 420 friendly folks, and it's crazy!! The exteriors of all the buildings are in desperate need of a make over, and the rooves leak in the winter. One tenant was actually shoveling his roof because all the snow caused his roof to leak. That should have been handled by a professional company, not a tenant. But, clearly that tenant wanted to preserve their belongings because management was not doing anything, or at the very least, enough. The landscaping is horrible. Dirt outside your slider, no grass, Nothing really pretty, except for the leasing office. If you don't believe me, look at a few apartments in Vernon then go to High Meadow. Some Vernon apartments are up/down, with washers and dryers and $500 cheaper than High Meadow, with phenomenal maintenance workers. All that I looked at also included heat/hot water, so that is not a selling point, in my opinion, for High Meadow! Most places do..and have "real" amenities!! An aging population like High Meadow has just won't play volleyball or basketball, but they brag about those "features" like it's an olympic sized swimming pool. There is, however, plenty of parking. You are assigned one spot, but you will pay $25/month for it. You cannot say, "I'll just park in visitors parking." Nope...they will force you to pay for your spot!! Kerri took down 2 similar reviews I wrote on Apartments.com...clearly, they only want people to read how awesome they are. But really, look around, you are 18 minutes from 84, further from 91, and getting to Vernon Circle is 15 minutes. You are in the middle of no where, and while that does have some advantages, you are right across from the farm, which gives Ellington, the "SMELLINGTON" name for the cows. If you like looking at dirt from your slider, on call maintenance that doesn't show after hours, and Phil lives on property, but the other rental places they coordinate with do not show up, and an aging population (it is nice there are no/not many kids, so noise is not an issue) but the walls are thin..you will hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are doing, and if there is a tenant above you, you will HEAR EVERY MOVE THEY MAKE! "QUIET HOURS" are from 10-10 every day...so if you get up early to work (most tenants are retired), you will get emails from Kerri and/or leasing violations for noise complaints. You may even get a notice that you are facing eviction for "excessive noise" when all you are doing is getting up, showering, making coffee and getting ready for work. It's crazy!! And if you think you're going to get your security deposit back, think again. No way! They charge for EVERYTHING and it's small, things like a room that wasn't vacuumed, just swept, a blind that wasn't dusted or a cabinet that wasn't wiped out. Those two small charges will cost you over $100 dollars EACH because Kerri "has to" do the cleaning. I'm sure she is so hard on move outs because the more she charges, the bigger kickback she gets from corporate. There's no way there's no incentive for her to charge for minor things, because she does and it's crazy and unfair. Don't believe all the great things you read on Apartments.com. She takes down the honest ones that point out the flaws of the place. Look around. You can and will do better. Honesty is the best policy. High Meadow is clearly afraid of what honesty looks like because they do not allow any negative reviews on Apartments.com or have any on their website.
