The ranch is beautiful and accomodations excellent. It was the perfect location for my new horse to experience her first overnight camping trip. The guidelines laid out by TRR were clear and easy to follow, though there wasn't a chlorinator available in the shed for the chlorine tablet when we went to use the pool. They are easy access to ID Fairchild State Forest where all the trails are. They provide a Gaia map track for you to follow. Some of the tracks are overgrown and impassable so be sure to reference the trail map for ID Fairchild State Forest, otherwise you're in for a bushwhack experience. Trails aren't well marked if at all. Regardless, we had a pleasant and relaxing weekend at TRR and the trails in ID Fairchild State Forest. 10/10 would definitely go back! read more

My husband and I just returned from Train Robber Ranch for our second visit. This time our dear friends came along with us. It was so much fun! The ranch accommodations were just wonderful as usual! They are first class all day long! We enjoyed the privacy of the ranch for one family or group at a time! Our horses enjoyed the beautiful pastures during the day, after our rides, and large comfortable stalls in the evenings. The trails in the forest are most challenging with many hills and streams ! It's the best riding in Texas! We also did a little shopping at the Iron Bridge Creek Traders Store! We cannot wait to return again real soon! God bless the Goebel family! read more

Train Robber Ranch is my favorite place to ride! We have made many great memories there. The trails change with each season (rare find in Texas). It's truly a beautiful forest. The ranch accommodations are endless. My horses love the big grassy pastures. The horses come home refreshed instead of needing a recovery from standing in a pen on hard ground. A BIRTHDAY BASH TO REMEMBER! (Pat T) So what do you give a 97 year old for her birthday? A TRAIN ROBBERY OF COURSE!! In 2021 the fam took mom on a train trip to celebrate her 95th birthday. As it turned out that trip included a train robbery by the Tassie Bell Gang from the Train Robber Ranch. Well, the rest is history! The woman talked non-stop about those train robbers for months! She wouldn't stop talkin' about it! Well, the story has it that the Tassie Bell Gang was formed after the furnace blew up at the old iron ore plant in New Birmingham! Well it weren't their fault but they got the blame! As things transpired, these poor townsfolk got desperate and just needed to make some money and pay some bills! As any reasonable person would do, they resorted to holdin' up the train! Fast forward to 2023. The birthday girl turns 97 and what's more important than anything than to have a BIRTHDAY BASH TO REMEMBER! And BOY did we have one! Tassie Bell and the Gang showed up at the house ready to find the notorious Ms Eunice, an old bank robber herself and someone that had stolen the Gang's gold long ago! Horses, bad guys, bad girls and of course the SHERIFF came callin'!! There was a turned over gambler's table, gold coins scattered everywhere and SACKS of cash that the gang wanted to get back from that old-time robber Ms Eunice! Sure enough they found Ms Eunice AND her gold and hostages were taken. Shortly after the sheriff's posse arrived just in time and a shoot-out commenced! Ms Eunice got to keep (at least part) of her gold and the gang only lost 1 bad girl from the shoot-out! (She really just fell in the ditch so I think she was fakin' it!) After the smoked cleared (and folks got out of the 104 degree heat) the birthday girl was smiling big and a large time was had by all! I'd say THAT'S a successful and MEMORABLE birthday bash! A very very special thanks to the Train Robber Ranch and the Tassie Bell Gang for making our mom's birthday one to remember! And yep, she's talkin' about it almost daily! I go to Train Robber Ranch at least twice a year. It is basically my Disneyland. The accommodations for both humans & animals are impeccable. The house is fully stocked with anything you need, just bring food. There is a little merchandise store, a huge porch for gatherings, a fire pit, a BBQ pit, and indoor & outdoor games. Barn, pastures with covered stalls. AND the trails provide something for everyone. They can be as exciting or as boring as you want them to be. I can't wait to go back! read more

My name is not Jessica I am remaining anonymous for my friends sake The place was way over priced Too many rules some was just plain too much As far as the trails they need lots of tlc so many bryers and some of the trails that we got from Gia looked like never rode just growed up and a lot of them overlap not to mention one of the required to ride up a dirt road Seem like the olny trails that were nice were the atv trails they were beat out and there were no bryers or growed up stuff hitting us the view was good but they just didn't go anywhere just seem to make circles Not please definitely not going back with our group read more

I give this place 10/10!! I have been Over 20 times to this place and it NEVER gets old! We were just there this past weekend for Memorial Day and we rode the shady trails, swam in the stock pool, played the various yard games the owners left in the party shed, had a fire in the fire pit! Our horses love it so much they wouldn't even come to us when we were leaving! I can not think of a better place to stay! The customer service is unmeasurable, she always answered our questions and phone calls! Our dog loved the red bone inn and the creek and the porch! The steam train was AMAZING! A few friends and I went up to Train Robber Ranch for a getaway, and decided to host our Christmas party there as well. We had a blast. The patio is perfect for hosting a group, there was plenty of seating. The fire pit was perfect, and kept us nice and toasty. We played jumbo jenga that they had at the ranch for us to use, as well as a few other games. 10/10 would recommend for any kind of gathering. Perfect for friends and families. read more

Again, long winded and misses the bigger picture. There was no electric and fire still burning. Would you have stayed. That's really all you need to ask yourself. And her responds is an absolute lie! If anyone knows me, they know I would have stayed there knowing how much I love to ride. She had no idea what was going on over there and she sent he 20 girl over there to check it out. Fire was still burning and no electric and this girl is trying to get us to stay. I was using a hook up and my friends were going to use the bunk house. We did go back and could hardly see with all the some and the 20 year old girl was begging us to stay even though we could hardly find our personal belonging to leave. Let me ask you. Would you have left your horses out in a forest pasture with a ton of smoke and fire still burning? I have been here several times and I asked Jennifer if we could just come back later in the year a couple days during the week and she said a form NO!! Bad customer service. I have spent 100's of dollars here!! I won't spend one more dime. And the money she did refund I begged her to give it to my friend because she never even got to ride!!!
