But now it is under different owners and is part of a very small chain of Fladerei in Vienna. No matter - I'm glad I still have a place within easy walking distance to eat a Flade on a Sunday evening when I only need something on the lighter side. The Fladenbrot here are varied and each one is made to order. Last Sunday, I enjoyed a Gorgonzola and Schinken with tomatoes and greens. Add a little hot sauce and you have yourself a tasty treat at a very fair price!

They specialise in their own beer and flat breads baked in their pizza-style oven. The outside seating area in this location is really big and nice, too. The beer is simply awesome. Reasonably priced (3.20-3.60EUR, I think) and very tasty. They offer their own Zwickl, Pils and a Dunkles. The Flat bread selection is pretty extensive, maybe even a little too extensive as they are very similar. Nonetheless, they are always tasty and you can pimp them with chilli or garlic for free or add extra ingredients for 80cents. The only thing I don't like/what could be improved is using "real" meat. By that I mean instead of the pre-sliced chicken/turkey from the supermarket, to use actual chicken or turkey breast which would make the flat bread super awesome!!!

There I was, fridge empty again... sick of everything... but ya gotta eat! I Google "What's for…read morelunch" and come up with sub shop... suddenly I am craving subway. You see, the interesting thing about chains, esp one that has more stores than McD's (2010, 1,000 more, yes I am serious), is that they are consistent. You will, or rather should get the same experience in all Subway locations. So, here is my experience here vs. back home in the States. I think the breads are the same, aside from that fact that they seemed a bit more limp I didn't notice much difference. Flavor is on point, and the more rye breads look and taste like it. Meats at this location (particularly Chicken Teriyaki) seemed to be of slightly higher quality. Also, since they don't use little paper trays to add meat, but spoons, you get a little more! As for cheese, you can definitely get more types of cheese at an American location. Here they have two types, one is a shredded cheddar, and the other... well when I asked the clerk what kind of cheese it is, he answered "cheese". There are for sure fewer vegetable offerings here, I can say banana peppers and spinach were missing, but can't put my finger on what else. I will say that an advantage of this is that when it comes to vegetables, for me anyway, it is easier to say "everything", rather than have to list all the things I want. I do like that they have the same selection of dressings as U.S. locations, as from my 4 months in Austria, I get the impression that dressings are not as much a thing in this country as they are in the States. I deducted a star for more limited cheese and vegetable offerings. While it is nice that the meats seem to be of slightly higher quality, it does not over-rule the negatives.

However as there is no other option for Subway in Vienna it will have to do. But the food and so on is very much like in all other subways i have been in. I wish they will renovate it one day SOON. My Personal points system out of 10, standard for Vienna is 5. There's WiFi if you need it. The venue is medium sized. We just grabbed a table and the waiter came over with a couple of menus. Would definitely make it a go-to spot ifi l lived in the area. Easily the most legitimate bespoke cocktail spot during our trip to Vienna. Not to mention, one of…read morethe more unique names, and a good homage to Bob Dylan. The place is situated more like a café than a cocktail bar, but it allowed the seating to be a lot more accommodating to larger groups. The only problem was temperature control, as it was incredibly warm, with no air conditioning and only a large fan at the door. The drinks were refreshing enough, but not quite enough to beat the heat. The cocktails themselves weren't terribly unique, but they did use great ingredients, and all the flavors were very well-balanced. I got my usual old-fashioned, and tried the Moscow Mule and espresso martini. I really enjoyed the old-fashioned, and the espresso martini was very tasty. The service was very attentive, and were very quick about getting us our drinks. The prices were pretty expensive for the area at about 10 Euros each, but as they were strong and well-made, it wasn't too much of a problem. Considering that many of the bars in Vienna only served things like Long Island Iced Teas and random, hackneyed mixed drinks, it was a welcome sight. Likely the best cocktail bar in the area that isn't crowded to the brim. There were plenty of other bars nearby, but none had the repertoire and laidback atmosphere. You should definitely come here if you're looking for a good, bespoke cocktail. The best is always yet to come.
