After my inquiry she text me to see what my need was which was day of coordinating. She sent over an email explaining her prices and services. After reviewing everything I had some questions regarding her pricing/services so I emailed back on 8/7 and never heard back. So I texted her on 8/27 to see if she got my email etc her reply to me was "Hi! Oh no, I apologize! What's your name?" That was a bit of a red flag to me but I understand this profession is busy and life happens so I resent our prior conversation to refresh her memory. From there we set up a time to chat the next morning. We scheduled our call at 11am. She never called at 11am so I called her and she never picked up. So I texted her and she replied that she had woke up late because she was at a wedding until 2am and could call me in 10 min. At that point I decided to inquire with someone else. Nothing against this company, I have heard great things but communication is number 1 for me. If communication starts off rough that's usually a red flag for me because if it's like that now I'm not sure how it would be on my wedding day... so unfortunately I did not book with Laurisa

Admittedly there were a few red flags but we excused her lack of experience and reasoned she made up for it with her energy and can-do spirit. Boy were we wrong. Unfortunately Laurisa was consistently late, didn't deliver what she promised, and when we expressed concerns and asked her if she had a back up-plan in the event she's exposed to COVID on our wedding day (as supposedly happened when she bailed at the last second for our walk-through of the venue), she stopped responding completely!?! She walked away with our $1,000 deposit and won't respond to calls, texts or emails from us pleading with her to return our deposit so we can hire a new coordinator. Added stress of being out a grand, upon an already stressful situation of having a key vendor bail almost a month before the wedding. Please save the stress and AVOID at all costs.

From the first online inquiry, I was able to set up an exploratory call with Kathy within a few hours. She asked insightful questions and listened attentively. She was interested in the style preferences of both myself and my bride, even down to what we wanted her to wear at the ceremony. Being from San Diego, we were less familiar with the Marin Civic Center. Kathy offered recommendations about different spots we could potentially use for the ceremony, and the pros and cons of each. She provided us with an overview of what to expect before, during, and after the ceremony, which immediately set me at ease. The Ceremony Planning Workbook she used made writing our vows so much easier. It broke down the ceremony into sequential stages. For each stage we had ready templates to choose from or the ability to write our own. The workbook was user-friendly. Kathy took something that ordinarily would be overwhelming, and made it simple - the mark of genius. Kathy made sure we were on schedule with writing our vows, gently checking in on us, even when our lives got busy. On the day of our marriage ceremony, she was on location an hour early. She communicated with our photographer to help find the best angles for where we should stand for the vows. She warmly greeted our family members as they trickled in and conversed with me to help me feel calm. Half of our wedding party arrived 15-20 minutes after the scheduled start time; Kathy was patient and reassuring while we waited for our ceremony to get under way. After the ceremony, Kathy provided us with a lovely keepsake booklet of our vows, which is something other officiants in the area did not offer. She timely submitted required paperwork to our county, and also Emailed me as soon as our county confirmed the marriage license was ready for pick up. Kathy Wilkerson is warm, knowledgeable, classy, communicative, organized, and conscientious. Her personal attention over the course of multiple months made us feel like we were the only couple she was officiating for. In a heartbeat, I would recommend her for any wedding, large or small.

We also didn't have a pre-ceremony consult as part of our package but Peadar made sure to talk with us in advance over the phone (FaceTime, even!) so that we could get to know each other and on the day of, I felt like we already knew him, which really meant a lot! They were difficult to deal ,and then refunding only 1/2 of our deposit when ALL we did is contract with them. They did not engage in our wedding and their was zero reason to keep a deposit. We have hired another officiant and they could not believe an officiant would keep a deposit when clearly we did not choose to cancel, the event was left without a venue due to fire. They had several months to recover and replace our date. This took money from the wedding budget in hiring an officiant that will actually officiate the wedding. Very unethical to say the least and not expected from someone of faith.
