Trans Pros is owned by Jose Firman. I have taken my truck to have the engine rebuilt. The engine was not rebuilt it was replaced with a used engine purchased from the junk yard. I made it clear when Jose and I spoke that the truck needed a complete engine rebuild. I made iy clear I did not want a used engine someone else's headache. Jose Firman has no Bureau of Automotive repairs license. In the state of California you can not run an automotive repair shop with out a BAR license. Jose Firman committed fraud on a decoy truck owned y the Bureau of Automotive Repairs. The truck had the transmission removed by a bureau employee Mr. Brasher. He cleaned and marked all parts in the transmission. He dismantled the 2-3 solenoid .then the truck was taken to Trans Pros. Jose was told that all that needed to be replaced was the 2-3 solenoid B. Jose replaced the 1-2 solenoid A, 2-3 solenoid B, Manifold sensor. jose was charged with Fraud, petty theft, invoice regulations charges, he was ordered to pay $20,057.88 in 48 equal monthly payments. It was not paid and Jose Firman owner of Trans Pros had his Bureau of Automotive Repair license revoked. Jose Firman is running an automotive repair illegally. Trans Pros did the same thing to my truck putting in a used engine with out asking me if I wanted that done. illegal according to the Auto Repair Act. This man is a thief he took my money did not fix my truck. He is a thief he commits fraud and takes advantage of people. Trans Pros was recommended to me by my uncle who had gone a few years ago to this shop, He spoke really highly about them, said that their prices were excellent and they were honest, and did good work. So I ended up getting my transmission done by them, everything was just like my uncle had told me at first... Super friendly answered all my questions, and made me feel like I was getting my transmission done by Pro's..... After telling me that my transmission would be done, and be ready in a week... They asked me to pay half of the money, since they needed the money to buy parts for my repairs... After a week, that's when the nightmare started... I called the shop to pick up my car, and Jose said that no work had been done, because the parts he ordered had not arrived, I told him I understand things happen, and then asked him what would be the worst case scenario... He said I will have it ready by the end of next week.... Two months later, he finally got it done, he tried to blame it on the pandemic, saying that was the cause of the the delays.... Honestly I don't believe anything that comes out of Jose's mouth, as they gave me the run around for weeks, telling me Jose wasn't there but I would show up unexpected and would find him at the shop... I would also drive by the shop, and would find my car parked on the street, after they had just told me over the phone that they were working on it... I haven't had any problems with my transmission yet, and hope I don't... as I hope of not having the same awful experience all over again as I did already trying to get them to check my transmission ... **Customer service** The guy that answers the phone calls to this business has no professionalism towards the job. This place is the absolute worst! Zero Stars If you want to take your vehicle here...I strongly urge caution unless you enjoy getting the run around. Here is my tale of woe in dealing with Jose at Trans Pros... (Apologies...it lengthy) On July 5th, 2019, I took my car to Trans Pros for diagnostics and servicing. Was informed me that the problem with my vehicle (2012 GMC Acadia) was a faulty transmission control module. Jose provided me with a quote to repair and I gave him a good faith deposit of $300. I dropped my vehicle off on July 10th 2019, as per their request, to begin repairs. After waiting almost 2-weeks, I finally received my vehicle back. I paid the remaining balance and within 2 days my vehicle exhibited the same malfunction, which they supposedly repaired? After immediately notifying Jose of the problem, I returned my vehicle to their shop on July 23rd 2019. Jose informed me that the problem was again a faulty transmission control module and that he at a loss to figure out why? He claimed that his supplier not only sent him a bad module the first time, but then sent him another bad module? I find this difficult to believe considering he talked me into getting the factory AC Delco brand? This sounded very fishy to me? He finally informed me that he had to order another "brand new" module from the dealer. All of this caused me to be extremely frustrated with Jose and Trans Pros, not to mention the substantial expenses I incurred. (Module was replaced...3 times!!!) After waiting another 2 1/2 weeks, I finally received my vehicle back and found there was damage to the hood of my vehicle! Trans Pros (Jose) blamed the dealership for the damage and said he get to the bottom of it...then as usual nothing from him for a week? (No surprise there) He finally offers to get my hood fixed but needed me to give him my car?!? I told him I would get estimates for the repair and he said "if you don't use my guy...it's not getting done!". I said Who's your guy and I'll meet you there? He says I can't tell you? Are you serious??? Stay away from these guys unless you enjoy pain & suffering! Jose you are a real piece of work and I'm surprised you manage to stay in business! See you in court! read more

There is no end to the rip off, they (Jose) ask for money upfront, take your car apart, put on the street without a transmission, tell you it's going to be ready in a week, the cops ticket your car, it's not ready and 6 weeks later you get your car back and it's still not fixed. The worst place to get a new transmission put in they do the job fast but terrible my car was leaking transmission fluid and he tried to tell me it was something to do with the engine and did want to fix the leak that they caused my car wasn't leaking when I gave it to them so Jose came up with some lame excuse and lied about it being an engine problem don't recommend this place at all. read more

11/16: Has had the car for 2 weeks plus. NOT Only has he not figured out how to fix it he has broke the law. i had a notice of avasion from southbay express for $64 he has taken the car for a ride on the 125 toll road without paying money! Real class act for a company! NEVER take your car here they joy ride in the thing!! 125 is NO where near their office to be out joy riding on it. So he is using the car for personal use and when talking to us stating he can't fix it and he might just buy it! I smell a law suit! STILL DOES NOT WORK. After a week AGAIN the car does not shift. Jose stated "guarantee it" the THIRD time around. Again he failed. I would not recommend this shop to anyone at this point. 482 bucks down the drain on a car that won't shift and lots of time/aggravation towing, borrowing cars and finding ways to work is not worth it. I expect Jose to fully refund the work/parts and will update on his response. Read the reviews here and had the boyfriend take the accent over. Clutch seemed to be going out. The pricing seemed reasonable enough and he only replaced master and slave. Jose had it done quick and they were friendly. About a week after it was finished it started doing the same thing again. Jose took it back in and worked on it again. It worked fine for about 10 days then stopped again. Unfortunatly, the BF was moved to Whitter and he wasn't even able to shift gears so getting it back down was near impossible. Jose stood by his work though and had a friend in the area get the car running safely enough to drive down to him. He felt the parts used were the issue and wanted to use Factory parts. so after all this hastle and stress he charge 82 dollars more to cover the parts and nothing for his labor to switch them out. As of today the car is fine but lets give it a few weeks and see. The final on this, car never did get fixed correctly. Jose bought it from him. read more

STAY AWAY from this place! Alex had referred me to them and I made the mistake of not shopping around. After quoting me $1300 and paying for 1/2 of it BEFORE i ever got the car back 2 1/2 months later i got the car back with a huge ass dent in the passenger rear door side! Dude just happened to be on vacation too when my car was ready for pick up so nobody at the time had any explanation for me (see pics in my profile). I can't speak to other's experiences. But we had an issue where they had actually fixed the car that was brought in a few weeks ago but just failed to follow up to let us know the car was ready. According to Jose Jr., the owners are Pedro Camunas & Jose Firman. Jose's son (Jose Jr.) works at the shop while his father does most of the errand running such as picking up parts, etc. When we weren't getting return calls we went to the shop and spoke to Jose Jr. who actually seemed to be a pretty nice guy and was trying to get even more educated in the area of Transmission Repair. He took care of our issue immediately and was very apologetic. I did find out that if an Auto Repair shop has taken advantage of a customer, the customer can file a complaint on-line with the Bureau of Auto Repair (a division of the Dept. of Consumer Affairs). I've had my 2005 Yukon worked on there twice. Once for a cam shaft repair the other for transmission rebuild. I'm not going to lie, the camshaft repair took way longer than I was told and if I would of know that I wouldn't of had it done there just because its a transmission shop but they said the could do it within a week and I went with it. the camshaft repair was good when I finally got the car so I was happy. the transmission rebuild went much faster (4days) and only had to bring it back after 200 miles to tighten up a few things on the shifting but the car runs great. So over all they are a good place for repairs although when they know a job is going to take them a while (like 4-8 weeks) I would like for them to let the customer know so they can at least be prepared for the long repair or have an opportunity to take their car somewhere else for a quicker turn around. Very reasonable and honest. Took my BMW to AAMCO and because the fluid was black they recommended that I replace the transmission. I had them put it back together and took it to Trans Pros. They flushed it and filled it up with the expensive BMW transmission fluid and only charged me $125.00. Trans Pros said sometimes on BMW's you just have to reset the code and they work fine. About one and one-half months ago, Trans Pro was contracted to rebuild the transmission on my 1996 Cadillac SLS. I was told that initially, several of the gears would be rough until the new trans broke in. The new gears, however, did not break-in and seemed to me to be getting clunkier. Having a two-year warranty on the work, I returned to my primary mechanic who returned it to Trans Pro to rework. Jose and his team kept the car for about a week, found several other problems through diagnostics, and fixed and re-fixed any problem areas under their expertise. My Caddy's transmission is now running better than it has in a long time. Once again, she's a pleasure to drive and I feel confident in her ability to get me where I need to go comfortably. I appreciate a shop that makes good on its contract. These older cars are difficult with which to work, especially the Cadillac. I took my mini van to a different transmission shop and they told me that I needed to replace a transmission for 2000 dollars but, I took it to trans pros for second opinion and they told me that it was just some sensors and they replaced it and it drives great and they saved me hundreds of dollars and I also had money to take my kids to Disneyland in my van and had fun! I have dealt with this shop for more than 20+ years. First time when I was still a young man I brought my car there bc it was not running well and Juan told me that I just needed a tune up not transmission job. Over the years I did my cars' brake jobs they have good price, fixed my power window, changed catalytic converter, timing belt, water pump, change out my transmission fluid, rear axel grease, fixed oil leak, you name it. They are very good mechanics and have good price. I shopped around and their price is almost like the valley's price. I work around Oxnard but live by TO.
