The name of the temple means "Broken Ridge Temple.". What appears to be a flaw in the construction the roof was lowered because it exceeded the height limitation of the City & County. The temple is magnificent despite the roof's lower height. The grounds are beautiful and abundant with plants especially the variety of mango trees and coconut trees throughout the property. There are statues such as the Statue of Miruk Boddhisatava. There are lotus buds and lovely lotus flowers in bloom and pots of water lilies too. Water is saved in plastic containers and drums. The most interesting sight is the pots of aged miso and shoyu on the roof top below the temple. Highly recommmend a visit to capture the tranquility and beauty of the temple and Palolo Valley.

Entrance is on the street side up the stairs. When I walked in, I was surprised by the positive energy I felt. The ambiance had a feel of ease and comfort. The color of the room made it warm, cozy, and peaceful with the mountain view looking out the window. Jenni led the group with some stretching and exercises. She is a very good teacher and a good healer. She told me to stand straight up to check my posture. In an instant, she knew where my pain was in my legs and lower back. She explained to me the reason why it did that and gave me recommendations to stand properly. I have been working on that and the pain had gone away in two weeks. I will be making appointments to take her classes in the near future.

I really liked the calm and peaceful atmosphere. The open view through the glass windows is very nice and a great place to destress. Parking is free at the Manoa Marketplace. Take the stairs to second level around the right side of parking entrance. Jenni was very kind and listened to my health concerns. When I did my Introductory session with her, I learned a lot about my chakras and how to open my energy circulation. I enjoyed her exercises & guided Meditation. Felt relaxed and recharged after! Looking forward to my next session! Mahalo!

Every Friday night feels like a sacred reset--and I truly wouldn't want to spend my evening anywhere else. Kaori's full moon sound baths with Reiki are especially powerful. The way she plays the crystal bowls and other instruments allows the sounds to radiate through my entire body. I can physically and emotionally feel the energy that no longer serves me melt away. Her peaceful presence and gentle spirit create a deeply safe and calming space where I can simply be--fully present, fully held, fully grounded. Laying under the stars on the beach, listening to the healing vibrations, has been life-giving. And the fact that Friday night sound baths are donation-based speaks volumes about the kind of heart-centered human Kaori is. She creates community with so much care and intention. I love, love, love Sound Healing Hawaii. It's an experience I would recommend to anyone needing restoration, clarity, or just a beautiful place to reconnect with themselves and the universe.

I was at home on a Sunday afternoon, lying on the couch, procrastinating while watching TV, deciding whether or not to go to hit the gym that day. All of a sudden, this totally ripped, super cool looking Japanese guy appeared on this Spy Series television show, and I got immediately inspired and decided at that exact moment that I needed to stop procrastinating and get off the couch and go work out. I left the house and walked to the gym. I took the escalator up and as I got off at the top, I literally bumped into this totally ripped, super cool looking Japanese guy and realized that it was the same guy I had just seen on TV ! We have been friends ever since, and Bill has been my exclusive trainer since then. What I love about being trained by Bill is that he knows the importance of incorporating NEW things into your workout realm every few months. It has set the bar high for me every year of the thirteen that I have been blessed to call Bill my friend and Trainer. Bill was the first person I recall to ever say the words"kettle-bell" in Hawaii ! I am so grateful to him for always re-callibrating my whole program and way of thinking every few months since I started training under him. It keeps things from getting stale and routine and well... boring ! The body and brain really only respond and change when we give them new and challenging things to do, and in my opinion, no one teaches those principles while incorporating that theory through fresh and challenging training sessions better than Bil Maeda. Here we are all these years later, and Bill i s still inspiring me, as he did that day on TV, to get off that couch and get a great workout in every day !

My first question to him was, "How can you have worked out the with same trainer for 3 years and not be bored?" My personal history is riddled with workout regimens that have come and gone because, in the end, they just get boring. Bill has kept things fresh for two years, with the goal of making me "unbreakable" -- strong and injury-free. We started with foundational exercises (push-ups, pull-ups, planks, step-ups, lunges, twisting core exercises, etc.) to make sure that I had a solid base of strength before moving on to more dynamic movements and heavier weights. At every step of the way, Bill focused on teaching strict form for every exercise. I share his belief that maintaining good form, with light or heavy weights, ensures that one gets the most out of every exercise and avoids injury. In the last two years, Bill has mixed in kettlebells (thruster, long cycle, snatch), traditional power lifting (squat, bench, deadlift), punching & kicking, sandbags, weighted swinging clubs, body weight movements, and a variety of isometric exercises. I participate in a variety of other sports and events (soccer, triathlons, obstacle races, endurance events), and Bill designs my workouts to help me prepare specifically for them.
