We hired Transformation to paint our home and refurbish our deck in April 2015. Albert (the owner) came over and did a walk around with us and discussed what needed to be done on the house. We knew our house needed some extra attention and repairs done and we were prepared to pay for whatever needed to be done. We had received a quote from another company previously that seemed quite expensive. Albert quoted us at a below fair price, stating he had included the repairs that needed to be made. On day one Albert sent a group of men over to begin pressure washing everything. After they left we went out to inspect everything and realized that a LOT of paint had been left untouched. We phoned Albert and he came right over to inspect and agreed that the men had not done a good job pressure washing. Albert sent the men over the next day to pressure wash again (still unsupervised by Albert). The men proceeded to rip my whole deck apart, there were splinters everywhere...not a drop of paint left on the deck, but LOTS of splintered wood. We were so distraught. Again, we called Albert and explained, again he came right over and inspected and agreed with our assessment. He stated, "Don't worry, I will take care of everything, I will have someone sand the rough spots, fill in what I can and replace what I cannot fill in. We were comfortable with his answer. The following day Albert and one crew member came over and started painting and repairing. We were appalled that every time we went outside we smelled pot smoke and the guys hung out by their truck most of the day. When Albert used our restroom the smell of pot would incase our home. I understand marijuana is legal in Washington, but so is alcohol, but you should drink on the job! However, we were in the mess by now and needed to get our home finished, not to mention we had already given him a hefty deposit. The following day, the crew member came to our home without Albert and stated Albert had some other appointments. The crew member told us, to be honest; I have never painted a house before." He also stated, "Albert is a hot head and he did not like working for him." There were several times that we would ask Albert a question and he would make us feel as if he were angry for us asking a question, we were honestly afraid to ask anything. On the third day, Albert came alone to the job and stated that his, "helper had quit". To make a long story a bit shorter, every time we turned around, there was a new cost for something, the pot smoking was disgusting and Albert was very VERY slow. When he finally "completed" the job we did a walk around and found several areas that had been missed and our deck looked terrible. We called Albert back, he showed up 4 days after we called him, worked a few hours, smoked a few hours and then said he would be back in a few days. Also while Albert was here he put the phone into my wife's face and said, "Here tell this lady how well I did at fixing your house, tell her all that I did". My wife was very uncomfortable at being put on the spot. Albert also told us that he was fired from his commercial job because they said he "couldn't keep up". We finally told Albert that we could handle the rest of the job ourselves. We will have to save money now and replace our deck and there is still a lot of touch up to be done, but we would rather do it ourselves than have him here complaining and smoking pot and taking weeks to finish a day or two of work. We do not like to give a bad review on anyone, it is their livelihood and the way they have to live, however we were asked to give a review so we are sticking to OUR word. read more
