I'm a faithful girl and it was hard for me to think about reaching out for help. I have lots of besties and Jesus is my saving grace After some prayer and research I came across Gina's profile. The more I read up on her the more I knew God was giving me permission to visit the idea. We seemed to have a lot in common and the fear of the unknowns did not win! Gina made me feel comfortable the first time I sat down with her. She's easy to talk to and a great listener. She gave me scripture to consider and also to memorize. I have been learning so much more about myself and how to handle my emotions and also how much my spiritual health is connected to my physical health. I can't say enough good about her God brought her to me and I don't plan to give up on our relationship anytime soon. I am definitely in a better place and I feel well guided and cared for. Thank vou Gina. God bless you and your ministry as we all press on

******BEWARE******** For those who are considering…read moreNeurofeedback, find someone that is more experienced and has more concern for their patients than money. My son and I came to Gretchen wanting her to help with one annoyance each. My son and I started experiencing negative results right away. Gretchen kept asking for more time to let her try different things. We just kept getting worse. I gave her 2 months and my son was still having manic meltdowns and is a ball of nerves the majority of the time (which was never a problem before). I have been suffering a deep depression, extreme stress, anxiety, and insomnia (which I didn't have going in). My son and I had to go to a psychiatrist and get on medications to feel normal. Gretchen encouraged me to keep going and that she would give me $25 off a couple visits. She admitted to over stimulating the wrong area of our brains for the last 2 months. I don't see this as a reasonable resolution. All she did was experiment on us for 2 months taking $2,000 for making us worse than when we walked in. I understand not everyone is the same and there is some trial and error, but I was never informed about the dangers that could happen by this way of doing Neurofeedback. I even asked her about any chances of overstimulation before she started and she reassured me that it has never happened. Most places do a mind mapping program to help guide them on what areas of the brain to focus on. Gretchen just tries different areas and frequencies with her fingers crossed, charging you if she messes you up, then wants to charge you again to fix her mistakes. I have asked Gretchen for our records and contracts several times (which I'm legally entitled to) and have yet to hear back from her. This just shows me that she has something to hide.

I am gaining a new perspective on life, grateful for medical professionals. I feel I have been given another opportunity to hope, live, and be happy again. After feeling so lost, overwhelmed, and defeated from medical issues that later opened Pandora's box. I thought I had my life, with my family, all figured out and well balanced. Turns out, when a person burns a candle at both ends, it will go out faster. I was not aware of my cause and effect, for me to maintain my daily activities, positive mentality, and giving nature. It turns out, I learned I was not at strong as I thought. I didn't understand my inability to cope with my conditions. My Neurologist had referred me to Dr. Doris Wise, to assist me with coping skills. She had given me a book to borrow, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma, by Bessel Van Der Kolk. He discusses the amazing experiences through Neurofeedback. I felt like I was lost, in constant pain, and misunderstood. Dr. Wise wanted me to experience the ability to truly understand how to be me again, so she referred me to, The Balanced Mind. The studies, Dr. Van Der Kolk, and my needs, I could benefit. I first was skeptic but open minded, because I wanted to live life, not just merely survive, I am willing to try anything at this point. It had taken the 2nd week when I noticed positive differences in my feelings. I started to have the will to live again, to hope, and dream again. My body may not be kind to me now, but at least now I feel like I can breathe again. The darkness has faded away. I may not ever be the old me, but at least I can feel happy again and have faith again. I wish this was around when I was thriving. I feel this would have been even more beneficial for my children, to assist them to be more self aware. I have even told my children, they need to have this treatment. It may assist them in college and work life. Thank you Gretchen! I am so grateful for you, helping me become more balanced. I am still a patient and continuing care, I cannot wait to have even greater results.

I see Holly for both counseling and Micro Current Neurofeedback--she is genuinely the best counselor my wife and I have ever encountered. She brings an uncommon level of wisdom and knowledge, and has the ability to ask you the questions no one else is asking, causing you think about things in a way you haven't before. It's hard to think of what more you could want from a therapist. Two of our kids see Jonathan, and he has an incredible ability to connect with them, doing so in very little time. He often sends us home with discussion starters based on their sessions, which has been immensely beneficial. We've always fostered open conversations with our kids, but having a professional equip them with the language to express what they're experiencing has been a game-changer. Beyond our own experience, many of our friends also attend Thrive and see other counselors, and we have yet to hear of a single bad experience. I truly believe this place doesn't have a "bad counselor." Everything rises and falls on leadership, and the consistent excellence at Thrive is a direct reflection of its strong culture and leadership. I'd recommend them to anyone in need of professional counseling.

I went to Jonathan 3 times and on my 4th time I had forgotten that I had my session that week and my family and I were taking a trip to Texas. I know about the 24 hour rules so I joined the session intending on doing it on the road because it was my fault for forgetting. When Jonathan joined (late) I explained I forgot but I knew he had a 24 hour rule so I wanted to do the session. I wish it was recorded so I could play it back but he came out immediately saying that it was totally okay and not a big deal. He explained that he didn't want me to have to do it in the car and we could do it another time. I was willing to take a break from the trip to do the session but said I would prefer if we could do it another time and he eagerly explained that it was not a big deal and I should enjoy my trip. So waking up the next morning with a bill notification was a bit upsetting. I texted them and he said that because it wasn't canceled 24 hours in advance I was charged the whole session ($150) I was of course upset because I was wanting to do the session. And if I was going to be charged he should have explained that I would be charged so I could have had the choice to continue the session I showed up for. They say they are Christians and they care but this is a clear sign that money matters above all else. If I no showed or canceled myself within 24 hours then I think it's fair to charge the client but I was there and he was the one who said we didn't need to do the session that day. It's sad that people get into this profession and only care about money when people are really hurting and vulnerable. $150 for a 3 minute call. I of course am now looking for a new therapist.

I was able to schedule my one-hour session a full month in advance to fit my busy life. I appreciated the email reminders for my appointment with GPS address for convenience. (**Note to property management: please move that super confusing "State Farm" sign from the walkway to the front entrance!**) When I arrived, Ashton (Reiki Master) greeted me warmly and we began the initial assessment -- it was an intimate one-on-one conversation about the reason I was seeking treatment (stress), my feelings/perceptions of how that stress affected my body, and my attitude for achieving my desired result (to be stress free). It was difficult to honestly dig into myself; but Ashton was patient and kind and encouraging that the truth and openness is the best way to achieve real healing. With the questionnaire complete, she opened the floor for me to ask questions of her. I just wanted to know the overall process and what I should expect while receiving treatment. Unfortunately, because everyone and every body is different, she had no clear cut answer but told me "don't expect anything... keep an open mind." The goal is to allow the Master to assess your Ora (the energy field your putting off) and assist in clearing the body of any blockages (in my case due to stress/negativity) by laying hands on or over trouble areas. In the back room, I lay face up on a cushioned table and am asked to let go of all thought and simply be in the moment. Lights are dimmed (incense may be burned) and psychedelic/trance-like instrumental music is played while the Reiki Master prepared herself. Our session was filled with conversation as Ashton explained her method, described what she was feeling (warmth/wetness/light/etc.), answered any questions I had, and encouraged my mind to explore whatever thoughts arose in the moment. I thought of my loved ones, my fears, my hesitations. I felt my muscles tense and then relax. I felt moments of tingling and warmth and (honestly) digestion. When I described a heaviness in my chest, and realized a specific thought corresponded with the feeling, Ashton let me talk it out until the heaviness passed. It was a straight-up counseling session, but my counselor was actively sending positivity and love to my physical well being. Upon conclusion, I was given personal time to "ground myself" before exiting the room. I stretched my back and legs on the table, then slowly stood up and walked around the room a few passes before heading back out into the world. I was given water and offered a snack in the lobby. It was a subtle feeling, but I felt good. I was glad I took that time for myself to refresh and re-balance. I felt valuable and cared for after being in the company and environment of Transcend Wellness.
