Although he ended up going to UCB which is test blind, but he also got in other top schools that do care about SAT scores. My younger son who was applying for high school, used Elite Prep's tutoring service to help him prepare for the High School Placement Test (HSPT). He was in the 70-80 percentile range when he first started taking the diagnostic exam, and he ended up getting 99 percentile on the actual test. He got in his #1 choice high school. Elite's test prep programs are not magic. It's not like you pay, then boom, you are guaranteed with high scores and admissions to top schools. The student has to be highly motivated, and put in lots of time, effort and sweats. Elite is there to guide the students and they know what they are doing, but they can't make "magic" happen if the student doesn't do their portion of hard work. For example, both of my boys did 4-6 months of test prep on their own with weekly practices, in addition to Elite's programs. That's what it took to reach their academic goals.

His only complaint about some of the tutors is that they make him do his work (which is exactly their job- I would not be as happy if they were not doing that), but overall he likes everyone there.

My son now is a senior and he got accepted to UCLA and Berkeley. The C2 SAT worked for my son, it helped preparing him with the SAT test content and the teachers there helped him with test taking strategies. After I told the center director I want to have to more updates on what my son does in the center, she emailed me long detailed report of what he does every week with teachers' comments. For learning progress, you just gotta ask. I really appreciate C2 Education, and we spent two years here. It works and it's worth.

Don't pay for high hour package even it may be cheaper! Once you pay, you have no way to back it out and very little refund for you according to their refund policy. The center changes their staff very often(less than 3 months) that you have no control of their quality. In addition, the center would not provide you online account for you to keep track on your hours. You have no way to check on your hours after couple weeks in their system unless you keep asking the center and end up you be cheated on your hours. It happened to me. Because of referral and C2 education promotion on March 2018, I signed my kids up for 50hrs program(couple thousand dollars) with Christin. This month, C2 changed all their staffs and my promotion credit(new sign up and referral credits) got deleted in their system. I have not able to get the promotion credit back with their new director, Tom and my kids are not comfortable to go to this center for tutoring anymore even I still have 2/3 of 50 hours package remaining. I strongly advise people not to sign up for this C2 center!!! It is a very bad unfaithful tutoring center !!! Here is my advice for the current C2 family due to staff change often in C2: 1) Confirm and use your promotion credit ASAP. The center may delete it without letting you know. New staff will not honor your promotion credit !!! 2) Get hard copy of your hour confirmation! Different new staff will tell you different story. Especially when you cancel the class, ask for confirmation email for your record. 3) Make sure all ads promotion written in your contract. Get hard copy of credit hour as confirmation. 4) The C2 center change tutors often and may hire part time student as tutor. It is very hard for customer to control their tutoring quality. I got feedback from my kid that it is not very helpful depends on subjects. One or two math problems could make you spend two tutoring hours to solve for it. 5) Don't sign up for this C2 center!!! It is a very bad unfaithful tutoring center !!!

On the very first day, my 6yo son was feeling very anxious and refused to go in without his emotional support Pikachu. Ms. B immediately drew him in by asking about his Pikachu, and she printed him out a personalized Pokémon-themed activity sheet with his name on it by the time I picked him up that afternoon! Every day he came home with a cool activity he did that day and had stories about a bunch of other things he did. The learning plan is tailored to the individual needs of your child. My son happened to learn without any pressure in this kind of setup. He went from mid-5th grade level to nearly finishing the 7th grade level now in about 7 months time. In a previous year, we had tried a different Math school that is more of a classroom kind of setup with 2 hrs of instruction. It did not work for him and we had to withdraw him from the program. While that was definitely a great place in terms of the curriculum and teachers, the classroom format just didn't work for my child. Big shout out to the center director Miguel. Really appreciate the flexibility with scheduling. There have been times when we had to cancel last minute OR even ask if there was a slot available the same evening. They have been very accommodative with our requests. Mathnasium team recently had a multi-center math competition. That was a fun exercise and I think more than anything, it was a fun event where kids could learn and enjoy Math.
