It cleans everything using water. Of course, we were given a demo before buying this and fell in love. Bob is the owner/manager of this business. He was wonderful! I've called several times inquiring about information before I actually came in. We've been having a problem with the cord staying in the outlet. Bob was able to straighten the metal prong and it seemed to be tight when we plugged it in their outlet. So we'll see. Also, we somehow cracked the water reservoir. A replacement is $90! I was definitely taken aback by this. Bob was extremely helpful by showing me how to take the bottom part off to be cleaned. He also showed me how to take the vacuum part off to be cleaned as well. I was happy to see he had all the deodorizers for sale there as well. I'm so happy I found this place! Gotta stay on top of this $3100 investment!

The process of dropping off used and unwanted electronic items is a little weird for newcomers…read more Your vehicle needs to be weighed 1st & you must wait your turn before driving onto the weigh station. Only one vehicle is allowed on the weigh station at a time, so when the vehicle ahead of you drives off, you can finally drive up to handle your business. You must provide your ID and state what you're dropping off, then your vehicle gets weighed. After that, the attendant will return your ID along with a small laminated card (pertinent to your cargo). Instructions will be provided by the attendant as to where to go based on the type of item you're dropping off. In my case, I was dropping off a microwave - so the lady told me to drop off the item at a small trailer (which was a couple of hundred feet from the weigh station/entrance). A man was waiting there to assist and I actually didn't have to get out of my car because he grabbed my old microwave after I opened my trunk. The man also grabbed the laminated card the attendant gave me - he did this quickly and kindly. Exiting is easy as the path I drove took me in a circle and brought me back to the road that led to the original entrance/weigh station. Based on the City of Norfolk's website this transfer station is open 7 day a week, but there are designated times that you can haul in certain types of refuse and specific times allotted for only Norfolk residents (https://spsa.com/what-we-do/our-facilities/norfolk). The entire experience was a little confusing the 1st time out, but in retrospect it's fairly simple & straightforward. I like the fact that both people I encountered were nice and patient since I had no idea what I was doing. I used to drop off electronic items at another location (City of Norfolk Towing & Recovery, 1188 Lance Rd Ste A) closer to Military Hwy near Janaf and I was more familiar with their process - which was park my vehicle in a big garage and I would physically drop off my old stuff. It's nice to be able to go with that extra project debris, or lots of yard waste and not have to keep it at the house and wait for a bulk pickup (also, those bulk pick up guys invariably trash the grass wherever the stuff is sitting). If you;re a Norfolk resident, they have the times on their site when it;s free to take your waste and as I said, they make it easy for what it is. Hey, if your paying that HRUBS bill, use all the facilities they have to offer, right?
