USE this company if you need ANY removal services! We had an exercise machine (off brand Nautilus). We tried to give away but so bulky, it was hard for people to come get it. We called the very strongly advertised placee, which I used almost 20 years ago when we did a clean out of my mom's place. It was outreagous then but we sold the place, so I did it. I called them again - they sold and reorg-ed this brand. They wanted $1,000 to remove this one item. They brought it down to $700 (we even took it apart). They pressured me to schedule a date or lose that prices (they said I could cancel if I wanted, which I did easily). A friend recommended this company. First, they did not try to gouge me. They gave me a rate (under $100 BTW) - no pressure - and the guys who came were amazing and sweet (even took a small piece of furniture I was also trying to get rid of). I wanted to tip the guys but had no cash, but they had venmo so easy peasy. I am so please with them, I just booked a spring cleaning removal for early March - will report back if anything changes, but I have faith it will be juse as stressless. read more

I wish I could give Trash Can Willy's a higher rating than 5 stars. Trash Can Willy's is a company of people who are friendly, efficient, caring, with reasonably priced services. I highly recommend them. They came to my aid when another removal company left me high and dry by not showing up. My new furniture was due to be delivered and I was desperate. I was drawn to Trash Can Willy's first because of the excellent reviews and secondly because the company was run by a Veteran. I noticed a statement that read "We like to help people". Even though it was 6:45 pm on a Friday I took a chance and called. Stephen answered the phone and I explained my situation. He said he wasn't in a place he could see if I were in their service area but promised to check and call me back in the morning. I was pleasantly surprised when 15 minutes later he called me and confirmed I was in their service area. He said truck would be at my home the next day. Later I found out Steven is the owner. I would like to give Steven a special shout out for his patience and quick action in helping a senior citizen who felt helpless. Your work ethics are impeccable. I had an on-site estimate scheduled, with email confirmation. They don't do evenings or weekends so I had to take a day off from work. The scheduled time came an went. I even gave them an extra hour before I called. When I called they said they had something come up & had called & left a voice mail. I don't have a voicemail & why couldn't they have emailed also? I called to get a quote for the removal of an old Washing Machine, Dryer, and Stove from my basement. I told the guy on the phone that they were from the 1980s and were heavy. They told me $140-$180 after the application of the $40 coupon, and gave me a 2 hour block a few days later. I had cleared a wide path and they had to go up a half flight of stairs to get out the back of the basement. Two guys showed up a little past the 2 hour window. They were very nice and worked hard to do the removals, which took maybe 20-25 minutes. However, they said $421 was the best they could do without getting in trouble, and I added in some tip for them so the total damage was a little more. I believe them that the extreme markup wasn't their fault because it seemed like everything they were doing was entering it into their digital system. So I think they do a good job to get rid of your junk, but like most of these junk removal services the owners operate a bit of a bait and switch. I kind of expected that going in and am glad to have freed up the space in my basement. Took off one star for the markup and a second star for the markup being more than twice what I was quoted. I needed a metal gazebo removed (that I had taken apart). I called for a quote and was told approximately $350 to haul away. I had estimated the amount of material would fit into about 3 pickup truck loads. I was told that my fee would go down if I moved all of the material closer to the road. After making neat piles, it turned out closer to 2 truckloads. When the truck arrived, I was told the adjusted price was $450.00. I told them to forget it. They then gave me a military discount and the price went back to $350. Shame on me for believing their BBB rating, I should have looked at the Yelp reviews first. I requested a haul away service that consisted of deck wood from a 8 x 12 deck, a 6 x 5 foot skid, small wood scraps and a piece of lattice that was about 4 x 6 . Over the phone I was told about 230-260 dollars for the haul away. When the crew arrived I was told I had approximately 6 pickup truck bed full of wood. Not even close. I was told I had that much wood before the crew member even took the tarp off of the pile!!! The new quote was 460 dollars!!! I immediately told them no way possible! No way, no how. Nope. Suddenly, the owner was able to be called and the new price was challenged and knocked down to 290 dollars!!! I needed this Crap moved so I took the 290 and let them remove it. They run a hustle. Be smart and get ahead of them and challenge their price. They obviously have a ton of leeway...I went from 460 to 290, so there's that. I wouldn't recommend. I would not hire again. I'd question every estimate they give you and if you don't get what you want, tell them to roll. I spoke with 3 other very reasonable haulers that missed out because their appointments were too far out, as I needed a more timely haul. I regret spending my money on this company. read more

I wish I had called another removal company or rented a U-Haul and or dumpster. The website leads you to believe that the goods that can be, will be donated to those in need. The crew that arrived, (not veterans) gave me an estimate of $1850.00 I advised them it was way more than I thought it would be given the "guesstimate" when Imade the appointment, they offered to "lower "the price for a "cash" tip. They said they could lower it to around $1300.00 and I could tip them cash. I said it sounded like cheating and they assured me they do it all the time and their managers lets them make judgement discounts. ( I should have dismissed them , but I figured the $1300 was near the guesstimate from the previous phone call ) I marked everything that needed to go and moved 4 items to the left side of the room and advised that it was staying. As they were working I heard glass breaking and things being dismantled I asked what was going on, they said it's how they fit it in the truck. they broke all of the things, including a marble top table and one of the pieces that was supposed to stay. They apologized for the misunderstanding about the piece and gave me some money off. I contacted the owner, who passed it to his assistant who gave me $100.00 off and a $100.00 credit and told me he couldn't watch everyone all the time but it will be handled. I told him that I felt like they were trying to price gouge and take advantage of someone and that I was not satisfied with the discount or credit, he didn't seem to care. He then proceeded to ask me NOT to do a public review. I have reached out again to the owner but have not heard back. ( I'll let you know if I hear anything) They can keep their credit, I will never use them again, and not only am I posting a public review, I have told every realtor in the surrounding area about this company and how they operate. read more

I just can't pay enough accolades to this company for the work they do. Let me start by saying I've some of these reviews and I don't get it. I've used Trash Can Willy's several times and have never had an issue, not one!. The gentlemen and mean that term literally, have always been on time, if not early, polite, friendly and non judgemental. Our home is being redone at a slow one room at a time pace and when these folks arrive, normally I'm trying to wrangle dogs, clear a path and just trying to keep it together while dealing with the mess of cleaning out and fixing up 20+ years of stuff and wear and tear. The price i get with my guesstimate is always in line if not exactly what I pay. Never, not once, has anyone been rude or treated my home with any level of disrespect. BEWARE: I'll preface by saying that I rarely post negative reviews on companies/products unless I feel it's genuinely needed to alert other potential customers. Trash Can Willy's is one of those rare occasions. This will be a long one, but context is required. Around 3 weeks ago my fiancé inquired about their service and set up a date/time for pick up, with an unknown estimate amount (other than it ranges UP to $500). With $500 typically being if the box truck they use was filled up. They did note additional surcharges for certain items. Given my work schedule (I am a firefighter out of Nashua/military veteran who volunteers for the VA) I am often gone for days at a time. So we put our faith in the company to be fair/honest in how they would treat my fiancé upon arrival, given that I wouldn't be around should any questions/concerns, etc arrive. Flash forward to the date they were set to arrive and they showed up almost 4 hours early. Thankfully my fiancé had decided to work from home this day, otherwise she wouldn't have had ample time to rush home and be there. However since they were significantly early, this gave her next to no time to properly prepare what we needed taken away. When the two gentleman arrived, they were not only rude, but rushed her along. Managing to only be here for a grand total of maybe 15 minutes. She inquired about a price once they arrived, to which they were short and said 'we'll have to weigh it once were done'. (Tell me...what box trucks have the ability to weigh things in its storage area? None that I've ever heard of). By the time they were done, they had taken some loose cardboard, two small couches and an old mattress. Grand totaling in $500+. For barely 15 minutes of work. Feeling overwhelmed, rushed and confused and being that my fiancé isn't the confrontational type, she was essentially pushed into paying an ABSURD amount of money for barely a fraction of what we intended on removing. To top it off, they tracked in dirt all over the house, left tons of loose trash all over our yard/drive way, managed to step in dog feces and tracked it all over the house and once my fiancé had a brief moment to look in the back of the ruck before they left...she noticed that barely a quarter of a typical UHaul sized box truck was full. So now we're out $500+ (I believe it was $510), were left cleaning up inside and outside after them...and to top of off, left with probably 30% of what we needed removed, still here. We ended up doing further research and found out that various other companies/people would have asked for a fraction of what we were charged. With companies like Pinard asking $60 (a month with pick up) for a normal size dump bin. My fiancé feels taken advantage of and I'm honestly irate. Upon calling a few days later when I returned to complain when I found out about this situation, I was essentially told 'too bad, not our problem anymore' by the guy on the phone. I would highly advise, and will continually advise others, (especially seeing that I deal with many businesses/contractors on a daily basis) to avoid this company at all costs. What a load of garbage coming out of the Trash Can Willy's representative! Don't believe me? Just another scammer trying to upsell you I thought, because as they themselves say if it sounds too good to be true, it's not. I read the whole article (including the fine-print) and I was thinking, great I'll call them regarding the 3 loaded bagsters that are already at my curbside to see if they can beat Bagster's own quote of $270 per bagster. Turns out, Trash Can Willy's are full of BS. As soon as I described the job, mostly old junk, metal, some wood, NO yardwaste, NO hazmat, NO paint, etc. Many resellable/fixable/donatable items (per their policy these things will SAVE ME MONEY on their quote!) Well, he quoted me $400 PER BAGSTER. That's 48% HIGHER than Bagster's own pickup cost. Not the 20% LOWER cost they brag about on their website. To add insult to injury, he told me that the stuff which had I already gathered/sorted and made ready for pickup for Bagster actually makes the job HARDER for them somehow..... because it's in a Bagster. You know, a large green glorified plastic bag (I guess they never considered cutting the bag down the sides??) Presto! It's not in a Bagster anymore!!, but ON the Bagster which can also be thrown away with the rest of the junk!!) I know, rocket science right? I'm not sure what universe Trash Can Willy's lives in but this was a softball project! So why is it HARDER to take this junk? They don't have to go down to my basement, out to my shed and into 3 different closets of my home all while waiting for me to sort and save non-junk items as they stand around waiting to take these items to their truck. So I asked if I were to take all the junk out of the Bagsters and throw it all over my lawn would that be cheaper? Uhhhh, ummmm.... uhhhh. Well... he DID say it would be harder to deal with it while it was in the bagster, so just remove the bagster right? I even offered to simply cut the sides of the Bagsters so it would be basically be 3 piles of junk on the sidewalk... he got impatient and hostile and told me to call Bagster (I didn't, I plan on calling TCW's competitors (many of which are listed here in Yelp with much higher marks!) Whatever... don't fall for the hype and the gimmick of the "Pro's and Con's of using a Waste Management Bagster". It's really just a ploy to upsell you on their services. I'm sure they would have gathered all of the junk and hauled it away but I guarantee it wouldn't have been cheaper than Bagster's own price. read more

I asked for a park ball price , I described what I needed cleaned up and the 2 guys were in my yard they started to say oh we don't take that , we don't take this , but surprisingly the price just went up , like way up. I ask about the mattress and the response was , "well that will be a $25 extra " . Really??? I had already told them to take the mattress and was included in the price , which already more than I was expecting to be. NEVER AGAIN. They even charged me for the miles, that's was not my problem if they were coming from Belmont after a different job. BEWARE. I don't normally post reviews, positive or negative. Didn't get to the service as they cancelled the day before. If you live in an upscale home and want to protect it, these are not the guys for you as they don't care. If you live in a smoke filled dump that you're going to demolish maybe they would be OK. It's one of those "we'll do what we want and you pay" type of services. So don't be fooled by the friendly website ( and which person exactly is a veteran is unclear). They were to come at a time they wanted (+/- 1 or 2hrs) and I guess charge whatever they feel like. It started at $500 and then it was Piano, oh two metal office desks, oh you have big items, so that got up to $750.00 with no guarantee that would be the price when they left. They had only planned on being at the property for 2 hours which I told them was short for the work that needed to be done (empty garage and remove piano and two metal desks - one in the garage). We've removed 3 or 4 other times, so this is not a lot but 2 hours is short. Anyway, two days before I had a horrible experience with another vendor for burner service who just walked through the house not giving a rats xxx about boots on brand new carpet or the fact they smoked cigarettes probably right up until they knocked on the door. they entered in a billow of cigarette smoke. So I called to understand their procedures and training for their "professionals". They called back and "they have tyvek booties but due to safety....blah blah they can't be worn while moving the piano" That's the thing that's inside the house on the otherside of brand new carpet. Don't believe the non-sense, everyone else wears booties and can do it safely while moving items. go talk to professional movers they do it all the time. "I can't guarantee the guys will not smoke on the way up there so blah blah blah". Basically, we're going to come and do what we want and if you don't like it then we won't come. Good riddance. You're better off just getting some Craigslist guys and renting a trailer and bringing it to the dump or call another service who is more willing to work with customers. If you have new carpets or care about the quality of the vendors you hire, then look elsewhere. update 9/10: I did get a response from Steve H. and he said "must have been a new person on dispatch because we can wear booties, blah blah blah. I would highly recommend TCW to anyone looking for a great price along with great service. No need to worry about having to sacrifice one for the other, with TCW they deliver both. My experience was easy and seamless from start to finish. I submitted the online quote request and the next day Steve, the owner, came out to do the on-site estimate. He provided me with a clear concise quote that was significantly lower than the competition. I scheduled pick-up for the next day (today, 12/16/15) and I could not be happier. The three gentlemen who came out to do the work arrived on time. They were courteous, personable and quite possibly magicians! They loaded an entire garage full of junk into one trailer in less than an hour and a half. This Last time we used them they showed up early waited in the truck then wanted to charge us $400.00 for about a3/4 of a pick up full of stuff, the last time we used them they charged $900 for 3 to 4 pickup trucks full. My daughter in law ask for a military discount( her husband is a Iraq war veteran and still i serves) and the driver did not give her the discount . I went out there and ask for a military discount ( am retired military) then he took $40 off and charged $360, Which was still steep for what we had. Outstanding service! The cost was very reasonable too, compared to several others I received. Let's face it, no one likes spending money to begin with, but when you do, you at least want to feel like you got your money's worth. I definitely did here! They were prompt, courteous, and very careful when it came to removing several pieces of furniture from the house. I was concerned because our house was already under contract and I didn't want any last minute repair costs as a result of furniture removal. No issues or problems at all though.
