I ordered the paccheri with shrimps and rucola and while I had to leave a some of the rucola on the plate since the amount was a bit too generous ;), the pasta was perfectly al dente and I absolutely loved the seafood as well as the sauce it came with. I also got the chance to try the truffle ravioli. The truffle flavor was rather subtle, but the ravioli were also perfectly cooked and the dish in general was delicious. The star of the evening was a dish though that I did not even get to try! One of the neighboring tables had ordered a spaghetti with parmesan dish and suddenly the staff brought in a cart with a huge parmesan cheese wheel. The cheese had a big hole in the middle and the server poured the steaming pasta in there and tossed it around for a good while before adding freshly grated pieces of truffle. Then this pasta goodness was served right at the ordering table. It just looked amazing and for a brief moment our own table was contemplating to order this as well to share (although all of us had finished eating by that point lol). There is no question: I definitely need to come back to try this dish! :)

I recommended the veal to another table and they had the same Love the Dinner reaction as I did! As I told my mate at dinner no matter you order it is all great! It is a small restaurant highly recommend reservations during peak times! He fills up fast!!

"Risotto ai frutti di mare" is great as well. "Frittura mista di pesce" comes with a side salad and roasted potatoes. "Grigliata di pesce" For dessert: Housemade "pannacotta", " tiramisù" with Sambuca and Borsci liqueur is something special! Next time: "Pizza ai frutti di mare"! Everything was pretty good, but I found the tuna creme especially memorable. Next up was a plate with risotto ai funghi and spaghetti ai frutti di mare. I have to admit that I did not try the risotto since I am not that much into rice, but everyone around me really liked it. I definitely enjoyed the spaghetti. The pasta was al dente and the seafood was excellent. Our final main course was a mixed seafood platter with salmon, scampi and piece of white fish (not sure which one) as well as mixed grilled veggies. It was very yummy. Everything was prepared very well. In the interim, some fried baby calamari were served. I was more than pleasantly surprised about those. See, usually I don't like calamari at all. I always find them too chewy and uninteresting. But these ones were amazing. Lightly fried, crispy, not to chewy at all and with the right amount of salt - I ended up eating a whole bunch of them cause they were so enjoyable. Everyone should order those when visiting Forno D'Oro 2! Additionally, I was very happy with the white wine that was served - Scaia (a mix of chardonnay and garganega - see my pic). It was light, crisp and just perfect for the HOT summer day we were enduring. It's been a few weeks 3 months since I enjoyed this wine and I am still dreaming about it. ;-) The service was very friendly and pretty efficient considering that they had to serve our group of 20 on top of their other customers. Thumbs up for being patient all the time while small children were running around.
