According to many of my Italian friends this is a very famous place. SO famous I have never heard of it. Until recently. WTF. In fact I've been coming to this area for years and still just found out. Were they hiding it from me? Well I finally got to go as a friends is a regular and brings many of his clients here. So we got the mafia treatment (What is Mafia in Emiliano anyways? Masalen?). I guess the go to order is the antipasti platter, the handmade pastas and then dessert if you're just two people. My friends says the other dishes are all good but the order above is what is excellent. I trust their taste explicitly. And they were correct. But make sure if you're in this area that you get the spalla cotta. it is a specialty not to be missed so we supplemented that in. The meats and cheeses plus the condiments are pretty heavenly and a lot. Added with the house made pasta my friends judged the portions correctly. Adding this house gelati with the Borsci Amar0 (which is technicall ALbanian) was a great finish. then of course an espresso. GOod times. the place was packed all locals. Then there was me. But hey I speak the language so I was immediately accepted . Enough so that I recognized our captains accent was not of the area. He was from Cortone. Look out the 'Ndranghetta are not to be messed with! The owner then came to greet us and I felt super at home. SUch great hospitality but im not sure how different it would be if I came by myself even though I speak Italian and some Emilian to boot...but great place to hit if you want to see the goods of the Emilia Romagna tastes read more
