Absolutely delicious food, great atmosphere, and phenomenal service. The best meal of our Italian…read morevacation (so far, at least). We wandered into this great little restaurant on a hunch - it just seemed like the kind of place we would really enjoy. Boy, were we right! Great atmosphere - a small, elegant (but not stuffy) place, with tons and tons of wine bottles everywhere. We were immediately seated, and attended to with the kind of service you just don't get anymore. Our wonderful waitress spoke to us in English, to the regulars in Italian, and to other guests in French. When pressed, she even joined in a bit of Spanish! In each language, she was charming, attentive, and just wonderful. DW doesn't really like seafood, so she went for the minestrone, while I had a seafood gnocchi. Both were delicious, with a ton of perfectly-blended flavors that weren't fighting and still managed to seem simple and pure. The only catch was that my prawn was staring back at me, and took a bit of effort to disassemble enough to eat (I've never been a fan of prawns with heads, antennae, and feet still on, but that's me). We chased everything down with a glass each of the house wine (DW took the white, I did the red), and our waitress knew the details of the local winery that provided each. The white was perfect - not too dry, not too sweet, and perfectly light. The kid of wine you could drink every day. The red was good, but nothing epic. Still, it was a perfect complement to the dinner, and I seriously debated getting a second glass (we're both 1 glass drinkers). Because we stuck to a single Primi each, we weren't stuffed, and on the owner's recommendation, went for the tiramisu. Oooooh. So good. A wonderful balance of sweet and creamy, with just enough bitterness from the cocoa to keep you on your toes. Just, wow. Long story short, it was an amazing dinner. Oh, and the Jack Johnson background track was an awesome touch.

Stay in Lavento 3 nights and decided to come here for the last dinner. My experience is total…read moredifferent with the man who gave 5 stars. The waitress doesn't speak English well, can't explain the food. The food is not that great but expensive. They charge cover charge for sitting at 2.50 Euro per person. The only good is the restaurant closes to the ocean and Central Park other then that the food is a thumb down for me.
