Dining here for sweet treats is a staple in the quaint town of Minori. The display case is an art exhibit for "beautiful" food creations. It is almost sacrilegious to devour the artwork / treats. We left enough room after dinner to stop here and give them a try. Making a decision here is not easy. We selected the lemon cake with an ethereal regional following. It was delicious, not overly sweet and a mouth punch of lemony flavor. For the lemon lover, this is a must try. The three level chocolate tort was equally tasty and done very well. Don't over-eat and save room for the sinful deserts at Sal de Risa in Minori. If you are next door in Amalfi or Positano, hop the ferry for a nice, quiet and relaxing evening in the quaint neighboring town of Minori. What impressed me most was how affordable everything was, especially considering the stunning setting and the café's reputation. I am from Hawaii though where everything is twice the price, so that may be subjective. While takeout is available, I'd recommend dining inside if you have the time. The atmosphere is part of the experience, and it's worth slowing down to appreciate the history and beautiful art inside their historic walls. Although British, he has lived in Italy for most of his life, including in this gorgeous villa. Recommended to him by my Airbnb host who is a local. This experience will go down in the books for me! His beautiful villa was located off of one of the staircases. There were about 10 or 12 other people. By the end of the night, we were such great friends, that's how Peter brought us all together. He had in-depth explanations, the food sourcing from Italy, where the local ingredients were caught/grown, how to ensure that it is organic, etc. He has an extensive wine cellar in the basement that we did wine tasting in. Super aromatic red wines that he has. We cooked fish, made appetizers, chopped tons of vegetables for risotto, made Oso Buco. He showed us how to cook, gave us instructions for our benefit at home. We sat outside on the bench type seating with beautiful views of the coast. I would love for Chef Peter to come to San Diego as he said he may.
