    Antipasto sorrentino

Dang, food was just not good. Worst meal from our two weeks in Italy. We were so hungry so the bar was even low. Got the seafood pasta and the seafood was all overcooked but the noodles were undercooked, which I thought was kinda funny. The appetizer sampler was alright, but nothing special. Food took a while to arrive. Service was fine. Ambiance was fun because you can sit on the street and people watch! But wouldn't recommend with so many seemingly great options around.

Not sure why it is, but the server was a complete douche. There was no greeting. Just took my order and left me there. Wanted to order a coffee when I was done and he never showed back up. I had to hunt him down to pay. It was almost like he was fed up with serving foreigners. Total attitude. But the pizza was great!

    Salmon puttanesca

I stumbled upon this place while strolling thru Sorrento and we decided to have dinner. This place was so delicious! I have thought about my dinner there ever since! We all ordered seafood dishes and they were so flavorful and fresh! I had what I think was a salmon puttanesca and it was one of my most favorite things I tried in Italy! It seems that many people go here for desert, but I think their entrees are splendid and worth the stroll out of the central city area. They had nice outdoor seating as well for when the sun falls and the evening brings the fresh breeze from the sea. I know I will be sure to visit again to enjoy some more of the frutti di mare on my next visit to Sorrento!

This place is a waste of time and a tourist trap. We arrived in Sorrento today and have had a beautiful experience until eating at this place. While we were seated right away, it was at least 10 minutes before someone came over to take our order. There was no greeting no hello nothing. I don't think our server even made eye contact with us. We ordered water and one beer. The waiter brought that without so much as a glance in our direction. We then Inalata Caprese for a shared appetizer. It was perhaps the most bland salad I have eaten. I lived four years in Italy and I know what good food taste like. This had no flavor at all. There was one basil leaf on a dinner size plate. The mozzarella was not di Buffala. It tasted processed and packaged and was hard. I ate one slice with a tomato and stopped. My husband ordered the.Gnocchi Sorrentina - which was overcooked and dry. The sauce was not fresh. It tasted like it came from a can. It looked good, but looks were deceiving. I was excited to finally get authentic carbonara in Italy. It has been quite some time since I experienced this first hand. I have yet to find a restaurant in the United States that can make this recipe correctly. I thought for sure I would find it in Italy. The dish came out way undercooked. The pasta was fine, but the carbonara was disgusting. The yolks were runny. Anyone who knows authentic carbonara knows this is not how it is made. Ge eggs and cheese unite with the hot pasta and water to make a sauce that softly clings to the spaghetti, I took about three bites and couldn't finish my meal. I actually cried at the table because I was so disappointed. I explained to my server in Italian that the eggs were undercooked and I was disappointed. He stood there and argued with me that I did not know anything about carbonara because this is how it is made. He had no compassion and zero interest in creating a positive experience for his clients. I didn't have the energy to discuss this with tears running down my face so I abruptly stopped talking. He snatched up my plate in anger and stomped off never to return to our table. we had to ask another waiter for our bill. Additionally, the bread was stale and hard and served in a paper bag versus serving it on a plate or in a basket. Additionally, I used the bathroom before we left and was dismayed to see there was no toilet seat in the ladies bathroom and the light went out in the middle of my using it. Furthermore, there were bloody tissues all over the floor; it was disgusting. If I can save anybody the trouble of eating at this place I hope my review does that. We had a lovely day and this experience for dinner ruined what could've been a perfect day. Avoid this place. It's a nasty tourist trap!

The great thing about this place is its variety. I'd call it a restaurant instead of a bar. They serve actual meals. They have a plentiful array of desserts. You can order coffee or liquor. They also have a chilled fridge of multiple brands of bottled water. Their purpose definitely caters to the needs of people passing through. What I found somewhat confusing though, is if you dine-in, you sit first and order; pay the cashier later. However, at other caffes you order, pay, and sit. Then again at some other caffes you order, sit, and pay the server. Regardless of that, the servers are really pleasant and the location is convenient. I recommend their delizia with caffe amaro, espresso, or cappuccino minus any sugar. They have fragola and limone. Have BOTH! I tried their salmon dinner which was prepared hot and crispy. They'll sure have my business again if I happen to be in the area.

Best pizza since we've been here and this our ninth trip to Sorrento! ! Pizza plus full menu, and pastries made in heaven!!

Eek!! The lady behind the counter was coughing like crazy, and she wasn't wearing any gloves when she was serving the pastries...pretty offputting if you ask me. Other than that rather uncomfortable sight, this spot is a good to pick up a quick coffee, dessert, or sandwich. I stopped by for lunch once and had an okay pizza - nothing special but fine for a quick food run.

Awesome place for an after dinner gelato, expresso and dessert
    Joe P.

We had the small cannoli, napolini and a pistachio and strawberry cream dessert. Incredibile (unbelievable), and I am not a dessert person. The expresso was also very good. I have not had gelato since I have been in Italy, but I am definitely stopping by here after shopping.

Friendly and attentive! Quick stop in before boarding the ferry to Capri. Calzone and breakfast treats were fresh. They warmed them for us and allowed us to sit and relax watching the locals chat. Staff is very respectful and sincerely looks like they enjoy their job! Great stop!

The fruit flavors are seasonal as they only use the freshest fruits in season. If you have food sensitivities there are tons to choose from without gluten or milk or nuts. Today I joined their gelato-making class with an epicurean tour group, and afterward we all got to taste their creations. The sorbetto al limone was bright, zesty, and incredibly refreshing -- pure sunshine. The mango was silky and bursting with tropical flavor. The coconut sorbetto was rich and creamy, like a tropical vacation in every delectable spoonful. The service is friendly, the vibe is fun ! My friend let me taste his gelato and it was the absolute star the Crocante Amarena. Dark, juicy cherries folded into velvety gelato, studded with crunchy almond pieces and ribbons of intense dark chocolate. The balance of flavors and textures is pure perfection. Everything was super creamy, intensely flavorful, and clearly made with passion and top-quality ingredients. If you're in Sorrento, do yourself a favor and come here. David Gelateria isn't just a gelateria -- it's a little piece of heaven. It is was started by his grandfather in 1957. The place is adorable, restroom is clean. Highly, highly recommended!

We entered and it was beautiful from the beginning. We walked to the Lemon garden and it continued to be beautiful until the end. After that, we started to browse around to see what was for sale. The Gelateria section caught my eyes first. I got gelato in the 2,80€ cup and chose Limone for the flavor. There was a Limoncello Free Tasting offered, so I almost had to do that. It had a crisp and refreshing flavor to it. I loved it. I purchased a Limoncello cl 10 e bottle for 6,00€. I got a Magnete embossed Sorrento for 4,00€. It matched the vibe. We sat down at a table to relax. The gelato had a perfect temperature and it tasted fantastic. We took the Limoncello bottle with us and enjoyed it later. It was just as good as the Tasting. The Toilette was free to use, so that was great. It was clean. The service was great. I didn't have any issues. Overall, I had an amazing time. The views were beautiful and everything I got was reasonably priced. I would definitely go again. Date of visit: 25-03-2025

This place is incredible and I only wish we could have spent more time here…read more We ended up coming later in the evening, after dinner, to have either some desserts or limoncello as a digestif. This meant that the back groves were not open to us and we could not see any of the limoncello making. This was ok though because we were able to sit at tables amongst the lemon trees while we sipped on our drinks and ate our sorbets. The person working the counter was alone and slightly busy but we struck up a fun conversation with him (my husband is literally the most friendly person and he and the guy started talking nerd talk) and he came and found us in the grove later to give us a whole tray of samples. The alcohol here is super tasty and you can tell they put a lot of love into it. I bought three bottles and didn't take packing super seriously and lost one in my checked baggage. I almost cried but it was just the limoncello, not the mandarin or the loquat so it was ok. LOL! I wanted to buy it all but those three flavors were my faves, followed very closely by the licorice flavor.
