Our server "Nico" was a super pleasant fellow that worked very hard to provide great table service, albeit just a dash slow. I think it was a kitchen issue. The ambiance was casual but still nice. Crushed stone floor for this indoor/outdoor restaurant. Restaurant served no charge table bread with dips. The food was delicious. I had the off-menu fettuccine Alfredo ($190p) with Ham & Mushrooms (they forgot the mushrooms)? Even without the mushrooms it was delicious. This is a definite do over. read more

We kind of oinked it. But it was so worth it. Started off with the arugula salad which was good and fresh. I had the ravioli in butter sage sauce stuffed with lamb and it was delicious. Perfectly El Dante. My wife had the ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach. And we shared a Diavolo pizza. We had a little leftovers but no complaints there;) The ambiance was lovely, live music was playing, the servers were very attentive, although ours seemed to have disappeared when it came time for the check. I paid at the bar, no problem. All in all, a delicious experience, and we would definitely return! read more

Don't really want to share this... our new favorite spot in Playa. Cocktails are and the pizza looks heavenly (hack: we bought para llevar for tomorrow). We had the best meals - simply incredible. SO good. Mexico has some of the best Italian food outside of Italy and this spot is no exception! My partner had the salmon + octopus pasta & I had the spinach ravioli, both of which were SO good. What a wonderful find just off 5th in Playa del Carmen. Amazing Italian in a charming outdoor (but covered) area. It was so fantastic we ate here twice. Nico was our server and he was so polite and offered recommendations that made our meal even better! The portions are large but we made extra room for a tasty dessert Espresso Martini. The pizza was perfect too. People know about this place and we did have to wait to be seated the second time. Oh, so worth it. I have been wanting to go here because of the wonderful reviews but every time I pass by there's always a lot of people. The other day I decided to stop by and it was super busy so I got take out. Lorenzo helped me with my take out order and he was so nice and helpful!!! The food was amazing and since I got two pastas to try I had plenty left over for the next day. I got the seafood carbonara and another pasta..I forgot the name but it was a white sauce with bacon. I thought it was a carbonara but Lorenzo told me it was not made with carbonara sauce. Had the most amazing dinner tonight. The food was great, super tasty and fresh, and the service was amazing. This was the best dinner experience I've had in PDC. Romantic ish outdoor seating with an extensive bar. The staff was pretty in top of it for a busy night but there was a miscommunication and a dish didn't come for a while but they made it right and got it out. I did not expect an Italian restaurant to be the best meal of our trip. This place was amazing at such an amazing price! We were surprised how inexpensive our total was with everything we are and drank. We ordered the seafood carbonara and the margherita pizza. The carbonara was the best carbonara i've ever had and the seafood in it was so good. The octopus specifically was perfectly cooked and so tender (i'm picky with octopus as I feel it is often overcooked). The pizza was also delicious. Came and gave a restaurant a rare second chance after a bad experience with service. I ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese. I found the pasta to definitely be housemade. But, it lacked chew and body. It was a little bit papery. And the Bolognese lacked complexity and proper seasoning. I found it needed a dangerously large mound of cheese to give it flavor. This said, it was a perfectly average bowl of pasta. The portion is fairly small so be sure not to come too hungry. Or order an Entrada. read more

Incredible food and service! The eggplant parm and beef carpaccio are must have appetizers. Any pasta is delicious with plenty of seafood options, lots of seafood pieces in each dish. This place is a gem! The ambience, the staff, the food, the live music, and the wine were amazing. I ordered the crab and shrimp stuffed ravioli with a glass of white wine. My meal was divine. The bread was baked in the pizza oven and was pillowy soft. My friends ordered the mushroom pizza and the prosciutto pizza and both were delicious. There was a talented artist with a beautiful singing voice performing live music. She took requests and alternated between singing and playing soft jazz versions on her sax. When they bring you the bread basket here its already cut into small pieces. They have their own name on the oils and have a spicy oil too. Dip the bread pieces in oil and oh so good!!! I felt like a splurge so I ordered the seafood pizza. It was OK. It looked good but I have since been told by others not to order a pizza with too many heavy shells and things as its heavy on the bread and makes for a soupy pizza. They were right. It was still ok but I wouldnt order it again. Since I know their bread is good next time it will be a lighter pizza. The waiters will give you their name and ask for a good review on trip advisor. Im not fond of that practice. They also flutter over groups and put the single diners along the wall in back. The check comes in a little treasure chest! My partner and I have been in playa del carmen for almost a week and literally skipped up and down the strip eating everywhere and everything. This place, by far, was my favorite. We got the burrata appetizer, he ordered the tagliatelle salmon, polpo zucchini etc and I got the cappelletti Ripieni di brasato etc... We also got a bottle of Barbara di alba and tiramisu. I'm not lying when I say it was the best meal I've had in a very long time. And I live in Manhattan. All of the food was amazing... like take pictures and don't wanna touch it cause it's so pretty but it smells divine so you cannot wait to dig in... amazing. Our service was lovely and there was a fun singer there who was doing all the hits to a karaoke track and everyone sang along. Just by far... a dinner for the books. Divine. I wish I lived here because I'd go there once a week just to give my spirit a refresh and make me float away with joy. If you're in playa... try all the typical places and then save this one for a special event/occasion and it will not let you down. If there's a wait... just trust. Wander the madness that is 5th Ave and just come back and be ready for happiness. A true gem. I just left and I miss it already. read more

Have generally had good experience here with friendly service and slightly above average Italian fare. My last visit was a disappointing. I asked for basic sparkling water and was brought a large expensive bottle of Perrier. I was upsold (my bad) to an expensive seafood dish on the menu. It came with assorted shellfish and a whole blue crab. The dish was severely overcooked. Crab was complete mush, mussels rubbery and pasta was flabby. I asked the waiter for some grated parmigiana and he proceeded to lecture me about how my dish didn't require any cheese. He was rude and I didn't see him again until I received the check. I know here in Mexico have so many mosquito but they're have a free spay for you and pets friendly here too.
