I got back last week from a Holland America cruise to Alaska. Holland America was terrific. Thank goodness they were because the agent at Travel Central was terrible. Holland America stepped up and assisted as each time I called the agency I was told I had to handle the problem myself. I will use Holland America in the future but will never use Travel Central again. After the initial visit, nothing from this agency except to charge my charge card without any warning to me it was being done. With everything going on with the airlines why use an agency if all they say is, you have to handle that on your own. read more

I've happily used Travel Central over the years for no-hassle travel plans. I've worked with a few different agents for various trips and they've always been very knowledgeable and given great tips on what to see and do at the various destinations - Hawaii, Alaska, Scotland, Ireland, Mexico and soon Russia! Melinda helped me with my honeymoon cruise to Hawaii - and even helped me set up a cool honeymoon registry where my wedding guests were able to buy me excursions that I was able to use on my trip. I couldn't imagine a better way to connect with our wedding guests - them providing us with the funds to make lasting memories of surfing lessons and volcano tours that we were able to share with them when we came back! I even unfortunately had to use my travel insurance on a recent trip and Katie helped me through the whole process, coordinating with the insurance provider to make sure I had all of the details and forms for an quick and easy claim. Trust me, when you have the troubles that cause you to use your travel insurance, having a nice and helpful voice on the line to take care of wrapping up insurance claims is a dream! :) I will always work with the team at Travel Central for great trip ideas and easy planning. read more

We have been using Travel Central since 2006 and our agent Libby Daigle is one of the best. We have sailed repositioning cruises from Hawaii to Encinada Mexico as well as several family cruises out of New Orleans. My husband and I have attended their suitcase packing seminars which were very helpful. They are always offering tips and seminars. They respond quickly and are always willing to help. I'm not usually the type to post negative comments online. But I felt the need to actually create a Yelp account to talk about our experience with Travel Central. We met with Travel Central in early April to plan our honeymoon. The agent that we met with was very excited and told us that we would have some information/plans within a week. Three weeks later, after being unable to reach anyone at the company, I was told that the agent that we spoke with had a family emergency and was a bit behind. I let them know that that is totally understandable and I was reassured by the agent that she was "working on our trip as we speak" and would have something by that afternoon or the next day. , I wanted to continue working with her, despite the responsiveness issues, because we had a very good initial conversation with this agent and I understand that you cannot plan for family emergencies. After that, I received zero communication for two weeks until I called again trying to get any kind of update on our trip. I was met with a dismissive response that almost seemed annoyed that I was following up on a two-weeks overdue promise to have any information for our trip. The agent assured me that she was looking at our trip that day and that she was just trying to get the right hotel. Mind you, we still had not received even a proposed itinerary or even a confirmation of whether any of the three destinations that we were considering would be viable. Again, I was told that we would have something by the end of the week and not to worry because we have plenty of time (the trip is in September). That was a month ago... We found another travel agent. Got the trip booked in two days. EDIT: After posting this review I was contacted by the owner of the business. She apologized and was genuinely concerned with fixing the situation. Obviously, there was a miscommunication and I feel confident that Melinda will see that it does not happen again. I was very impressed with how she dealt with what appears to be a very infrequent lack of customer service. Thank you, Melinda. read more

Not a good experience with this agency or the owner. When mistakes were made that resulted in our having to cancel two excursions and a myriad of other things all I received from the owner was a half hearted apology. I at least expected a good will gesture of some sort and when I said that she agreed to send my a $50 gift certificate to a steak house and a $200 airline voucher. I am still waiting to receive the good will gestures They obviously were never sent to me and this was just a way to not have to deal with me. read more

I used Leatta at Travel Central for a Hawaiian vacation. This is the first time I ever used a travel agent. The experience exceeded my expectations. First the accommodations were exquisite & the transportation to the difference islands were flawless. Then we hit a unforeseen 12 hour delay coming home. Because of my lack of experience, I spent hours dealing with the airline to reschedule my flights home. Leatta discovered my dilemma on social media called me after her work day & handled the rebooking in minutes and then fussed at me for not calling her! Lesson learned. read more

Worst travel agency ever! Do not use. They promised we could travel on Royal Carribean Cruise. Even though our travel companion was on dialysis. We booked 9 months ahead of trip. All Ok per travel Central. They Insisted on payment 3 months ahead. Shortly after we were told to cancel because our companion was on dialysis for 11 months and not 12. No refund would be given. Finally Royal Carribean Cruise line gave us a partial refund. Travel Central was rude! Tough luck per Tammy and stop calling. Terrible customer service. read more

I booked a Norweigen cruise at Travel Central. I booked through Katie and she was great with emailing me the info and even mailed me tags and info on the cruise documents. It was very easy to do, the prices were great and I plan to come back for future vacation needs. On top of all of this,m they have this really great coffee store attached to it.
