After resigning to the possibility that this trip would be a crowd-packed, expensive, cookie-cutter trip, we arrived to Puerto Vallarta greeted by VIP service from the airport and a glass of champagne. The indulgences only got better from there. We had massages on the beach, went scuba diving, zip lining, ate at the best restaurants, ordered the best room service, enjoyed our honeymoon suite with a jacuzzi on the balcony overlooking the ocean... I could go on and on. I gave them what I thought was an average budget, and somehow they came out with a trip of a lifetime. And I didn't even lift a finger. I now consider resigning to use this company for my trip a blessing, and I look forward to seeing what they come up with next time. I would highly recommend them!

Over the past 20 years, they have built strong local relationships which result in their guests reaping the benefits of expert guides, lovely hotels, admittance to chateaus and gardens which might not have otherwise been open....not to mention great food prepared just for us! We appreciated the small group (under 20), staying at each hotel for 4 nights, the variety of gardens and activities as well as the pace. Trips Unlimted should have received the money. Was planning to use the $100 certificate on a May 2025 day trip in St. Louis, but Trips Unlimited cancelled the trip. Would not refund the $100 and referred me to their policies that state gift certificates will not be refunded. Who knows when this policy was implemented. Was it after they received money from Directions Tours? My husband and I want the $100 refunded to us.

Unfortunately I had to cancel because my wife was having surgery two days prior to boarding. Everything was paid for Airfare , Cruise , Drink Package , Excursions , Insurance and Fine dining were all purchased. Your rep told me to handle the airfare and she would handle everything else. The Airfare was credited and I was issues a voucher for future flights. Aon which handles the insurance for Carnival was a nightmare. I sent doctor forms. They sent me forms to have doctor fill out and when all said an done the said they would issue me 100% for the Cruise fee minus the insurance. This is not a problem. Now all the extra stuff was Carnivals job to refund me and Lisa said she would handle this......and she didn't she just took their word! Carnival gave me a few refunds but not everything. I emailed Lisa a copy of my bank statements. This show's what was taken out and what was credited. Now Minus the cost of the insurance ( how can AON deduct insurance and Carnival as well blows my mind) and I am still out of pocket almost 600.00. I explained this to Lisa and she said " Carnival said they refunded you everything ". I know what they said but the proof is in the numbers , I needed a rep to fight for me and not settle for just what CARNIVALS says. My wife and I cruise twice a year so we are not a huge account but we are loyal and would not think of going to a different agency ..until after this nightmare. So disappointed, because I told Lisa the same thing I will never book again , not surprised, don't think she even cared, because AGAIN she didn't even fight to keep us.

I booked a tour for my kids and I, called to confirm (proof on my phone), got an email receipt. We woke up early, got ready and NOTHING. They never booked us. They're a 3rd party that books people on other company tours. They said we slipped through the crack. Then tried to blame me and insinuate that I didn't confirm my reservation. Then they claimed to have sent my refund, but nothing has come. Filing a claim with my bank. DON'T BOOK WITH THEM!!! Imagine a bus of people turning around to drop you back off because the tour company made a mistake! Last day here and they ruined the experience for us.

I finally took a tour of New Orleans on this last visit, and I don't know why I didn't do it on all…read moremy trips to the big easy. Actually I do know why. I wasn't ready to see post Katrina but it was humbling. I bought several, including the swamp tour. Nothing special there unfortunately, the crocs were small and docile, and I wasn't really impressed by the guides knowledge of the bayou. However, this review is on the Katrina tour itself. After being driving all around the different local parishes (counties) and in and out of the local spots, we finally ended up in the 9th ward of New Orleans. The devastation is evident right when you enter the lower portion of the 9th ward. Yes, our unit took volunteers to go down to Nawleans when Katrina hit to help out and now looking back, it's even more heartbreaking. The aftermath still brings tears to my eyes, seeing all the carnage left by mother nature is a humbling experience. As I stood there in the middle of a neighborhood which used to house generations of families, I watched in awe how much life can literally be taken in an instant. It was like standing in the middle of frozen time taking in a moment to pause as you stand on grounds of a living memorial. The guide for this portion was from the neighborhood and provided rich insight into what went down. He was choking up a little too as he told stories of the devastation and who could blame him? Why does it always take something bad to bring out the best in people? Overall, I learned so much about the history, culture, and way of the local people affected in the lower 9th ward. I would definitely recommend this tour and go back in a heartbeat. It's a cheap investment into learning about the people, the true people of New Orleans who's lives will never be the same. The end of this tour was into the rebuilding area where new homes and neighborhoods are being constructed. Many of them are beautiful as well as functional. For instance, the bottoms of the homes are similar to the hull shape of any ship you recognize and they are lifted off the ground so that if another flood comes in, the raise home will float to safety somewhere. And most of the homes were thanks to Mr. Brad Pitt so kudos to him for being a local ambassador. Go on this tour, please. It's a roller coaster of emotions, it's a learning experience, and you'll be a local expert of the city of New Orleans, not just the 9th ward, but you'll experience a life lesson in jazz, blues, rock & roll, famous people's homes, and just plain feel good about yourself.
