I used Sarah Qey Travel for both our trips to Italy and Costa Rica. For Italy it went well due to…read moreus not using her to schedule our tours. This last week we were in Costa Rica we did use her to help us find good deals on our tours, and it was a nightmare. The day before our trip she called me stating everything was confirmed and assured us we would have an amazing experience. The first day we are there we wake up early to get to our hotel lobby to wait for pickup. After waiting over 30 minutes I ask the concierge if they could help us locate the tour agency. When we got ahold of them he stated to us that for the past month he tried to get ahold of Sarah Qey Travel to confirm our tour and where we would be picked up, there was never an answer. Due to this we missed our tour. They were able to work with us and accommodate to let us do one thing with them because they couldn't refund us due to their policy. Thankfully they were the same ones to do our next tour to Manuel Antonio, and I was able to confirm where we needed to be picked up. While I was dealing with the tour agency I was also trying to reach Sarah because she claimed she would be accessible to me via email or call if I needed her. She was not. She didn't confirm any of our tours, didn't give them any of my information on how to contact me, and she took no accountability for her mistakes. When I was able to reach her she said she did everything right, and basically all 3 companies she hired for us were lying. She even had the nerve to get offended when I asked for refunds because we missed 2 of our tours because of her actions. We had to pay an additional $110 because we didn't want to lose the money on the tours. She owed me $110 due to a tour never being confirmed. 8 days had passed and still no refund in my account. When I confront her about this she immediately sends it via PayPal without even asking me if I had one! I couldn't access my money because of this! So when I email her about this her assistant Deborah steps in saying she didn't know I didn't have a PayPal. It's called asking! Thankfully she helped me with this, but not before she basically shamed me because I didn't confirm any of my tours myself. I paid these people to help me feel safe in a foreign country, and they took my money and didn't make us a priority after they were paid. No one ever apologized or took responsibility for their mistakes. I now know due to the great people of Costa Rica not to trust tour agencies like Sarah Qey and just do it myself. All they did was go through Expedia and get their cut.
