Camping World - Pinellas Park

I am writing this review to formally express my deep frustration and concern regarding the…read morecondition and ongoing service delays related to my brand-new Shasta by Forest River I-5 Series camper, which I purchased on September 29, 2024, from Camping World, located at 8000 Park Blvd N, Pinellas Park, FL 33714. I purchased this camper urgently due to the impact of the 2024 hurricane season and personal circumstances. Like many others in our area, I needed immediate housing. My salesperson, Summer, was helpful and professional, and I was hopeful I had made the right choice. However, issues began almost immediately. Upon delivery and setup at Bickley RV Park, I noticed movement in the camper. With the help of a neighbor, I discovered a bent left jack. Not long after, the right front jack also became bent. I then experienced electrical issues, including non-functioning under-storage lights, and most alarmingly, a major water leak that spread across the camper floor, reaching my bedroom. I also discovered the fuse panel latch keeps opening on its own. I took the camper to Camping World for service in December 2024. The technician acknowledged the leak, jack issues, fuse panel latch, and lighting problems. They also confirmed water damage to the floor and wall--something extremely concerning given my multiple health conditions that could be worsened by mold or mildew. I contacted Camping World numerous times over the following months with little to no progress or communication: 12/28/24: No updates on parts or repairs. 2/17/25: I was told parts were approved and ordered. 3/19/25: Still no parts. 3/26/25: I was told the wrong parts had been ordered. 4/2/25 & 4/11/25: Continued lack of communication. 5/2/25: I was locked inside my camper. I have video evidence of this. 5/6/25: I was again trapped inside, and had to call roadside assistance. A locksmith had to grind the door frame to prevent this from happening again. 5/10/25: I came home to find the A/C unit not working, leaving my dogs inside a hot camper in Florida. Camping World told me to find a mobile service tech, which I cannot afford. At this point, I was met with dismissiveness and misinformation, including being told that my warranty had expired, which is false. I also spoke with Anthony, the General Manager, to express my distress. While I did use a curse word out of frustration to describe my situation, I did not curse at him personally. He responded by hanging up on me, which was unprofessional and deeply upsetting. I then visited the store in person with my friends, Todd and Lori. I was in tears. The front desk staff were kind, but no one--not even Bob Stone, the service manager--took the time to pull up my file or offer a private space to discuss my situation. Anthony never came out to apologize. I bought this unit brand new from your location and have received months of delays, dismissals, and no solutions. I believe many of these issues may be due to the campers being exposed to two hurricanes before being sold.

I went with my boyfriend, who has some RV experience, and even though we hit a few financial hiccups, the General Manager, Joe, completely turned the whole experience around. Joe was incredibly pleasant, attentive, and truly went above and beyond. He guided me through every step, found me the best deals, and kept me updated nonstop with what was happening with the bank. I genuinely don't think I would've been able to purchase my RV without his help. I HIGHLY recommend this Camping World location over any others. I had bad experiences elsewhere, but once I found this location, everything changed. They earned my trust, and I'm so grateful for the amazing service! If you want it even more energetic, more emotional, or more concise, I can shape it however you like.

I met Dave and Gentry when I arrived from a long drive from my home in the Midwest. I needed a…read morereasonable place to store my RV for 3 months while I was wintering nearby. They offered me a very fair rental rate and a primo spot I was able to access 24/7....a rarity in many places! I was thinking about possibly doing a consignment deal to try to sell my 2015 Winnebago Era 170 while I was there, so the guys went through my unit thoroughly and gave me an idea of what it was worth. No hassle and they let me think it all over for a couple of weeks. No pressure. I decided against a consignment sale and opted instead to continue to drive it for another year. I'm headed back in a month for my annual trek. I wouldn't consider storing my unit anywhere else. Great guys who make customers feel like family. Who knows, I just might do that consignment deal this year!!

I bought a 2004 Jayco Greyhawk class C RV from these guys. I did what I thought was a pretty…read morethorough inspection prior to buying it and it was bought "as is" with no expressed warranty. I was happy with the final price and they did a very thorough walk thru with me showing me how everything worked and fixed any of the things I found wrong which was mostly superficial broken things like trim molding, plastic parts, etc... after getting it home I started encountering more issues that my test drive didn't reveal but I don't really think it was intentional on their part. I did the needed repairs and got it ready for a trip to Montana. I bought it during the dry season and about a month after I purchased it, we started getting very heavy rains everyday. About 100 miles into my 6000 mile trip out west while filling up the gas tank I noticed a very small deformation on the front side of the nose cap. There was a stick on reflector where it was protruding and I pealed it back to reveal a quarter size hole in the fiberglass right at the seam. I put a piece of tape on it and kept driving. We made it to GA and the tape had pulled off and the side panel was swollen and pulling back from the corner seam. I bought some incredibly strong "as seen on TV" waterproof sealing tape and taped over the hole and the seam. We did not want to cancel the trip over this but it was extremely nerve wracking because I was afraid that side panel was going to start ripping off. We kept an eye on the tape and added more as needed but the air pressure was causing the swelling and delamination to get worse. By the time I got home it was swollen all the way back to the bunk window. I called a delam repair company and they told me it would probably cost 5-7 grand to fix it! I was completely devastated as I still owe 22 grand on this thing. After further research I figured out that the stick on reflectors were added to cover the hole as they were not on any other Greyhawk I saw for that year. I brought it back to RV World expecting them to tell me to kiss their ass and that it was sold as is. They were very calming and said that they would try and fix it for a lot cheaper than what I was quoted and only charge me what their costs were. They had my RV for a month and when they called me to tell me it was done I was expecting them to say it was thousands of dollars to fix. The water damage got into the overhead bunk and all behind the panel. They had to replace a lot more than we originally thought but they fixed it right. They replaced the bunk, had to pull the bunk window and replace the panel behind it. It was a major repair and they did a great job! I couldn't be happier and they didn't try and rip me off or even charge me what the repair was worth. They took great care of me even though they had zero obligation or anything to gain.

Each time we use it, more problems arise. When we take it for service, Nexus fails to approve the work and parts acquisition in a reasonable amount of time. Service takes weeks, even months, as a result. And now we just learned that Nexus refused to cover repair of a problem we reported on day 1 of ownership that still wasn't fixed after 2 attempts during the 1 year warranty, indicating it's no longer under warranty. So just do yourself a favor and don't even consider NEXUS. 10/01/2025 Update: Nexus indicates they have implemented better quality control since our RV was built, and they encouraged us to go to an RV show to see all the great improvements. Great! But we already spent our money on the one that's falling apart like a piece of junk. They contacted me after seeing my review (above) to say that it's untrue that they don't always honor their warranty and approve warranty repairs in a timely manner. We've had our RV for 1.5 years, taken it on 5 trips, and it now has about 9000 miles on it. Here's a list of most, but not all, of the problems we've experienced so far: - On the way home from picking the new RV up from the dealer, the microwave door kept opening and slamming shut and the glass plate flew out and shattered. The latch wouldn't hold it shut. It was replaced with an identical microwave which also would not stay latched. An ugly external latch was added, and when that didn't hold it shut, a strap, like a seatbelt, was installed to hold it shut when traveling. We had to pay for that strap because, by then, it was outside of the 1 year warranty: the Nexus dealer said that they argued with Nexus, but coverage was refused. I contacted Nexus and they agreed to reimburse me, but then they changed their mind, indicating that the Nexus dealer's service department should have contacted the microwave manufacturer, and they denied that the dealer contacted Nexus... so too bad for me. They suggested I contact the microwave manufacturer myself! -on our first camping trip, 2 days after picking up the new RV, the fenders under cab doors fell off. -the water tank collapsed. -the slide hung at a severe angle. -the camper separated from the cab. -the bathroom door fell off. -the water pump failed. -some of the heat shields fell off. -the refrigerator slid out of it's compartment on one side (we found the attachment screws in the bag with the manual), -the levelers didn't stay in place and alarmed during travel. -the radio unit never worked and had to be replaced. -the horn wasn't loud enough to be heard, which was dangerous. It was a tiny horn that one might consider using on a golf cart, maybe, but never on an RV or truck. We replaced it. -the kitchen faucet leaked under the sink and had to be replaced. -the bathroom shower leaked between the walls and soaked the bathroom and bedroom walls and floor. -the refrigerator only cooled to 50 degrees and had to be replaced. -the awning didn't retract properly. -water leaks out the left side of the driver's visor when it rains. -something's wrong with the fueling assembly and it's very difficult to get fuel into it (takes a lot of time, and fuel inevitably spills down the side onto the ground, even filling slowly with both caps open to insure venting). -and, most recently, the wall panel next to the stove fell off. There was a single staple in it, and that was stapled into the thin air. Negligence on Nexus's part, including poor manufacturing practices and poor quality control, allowed this RV to be released for sale. About 2 months ago, I asked Nexus Management to consider taking responsibility for this by assisting us with replacing it at a low cost ( or even no cost, under the circumstances) with the same model, but made after they corrected the manufacturing process and implemented quality control. I reminded them again early in September. Nexus Management has not responded
