I have had AdvanceScape take care of my lawn maintenance for almost 3 years and have never once been dissatisfied with how it looks. Their attention to detail is the best I've seen - If there is one weed growing in your landscaping they make sure to grab it. We are about to build a pool soon and asked Cory for a quote on capping off the irrigation in the back and removing 2 very large palms. When he came out he walked through numbers and because he has been in the business for awhile, shared the cost I would have by replacing all the sod in the back if I just capped (I'm sitting on almost one acre) compared to the upfront reroute cost. I love that he is always transparent and doesn't pressure you into one thing or the other...We decided to re-route my irrigation instead and so thankful I did as my yard continues to stay green and will only have a small area of sod to replace at the end. Chris (who did the irrigation) made sure to walk me through the process and adjusted midway when I thought it would be cutting it close to pool area (my fault - not theirs), and without hesitation got right to it. December 2024 - 6 month update…read more We have now had the new ProVista St. Augustine lawn for 6 month so I wanted to provide an update. As a part of the contractors work AdvanceScape to assess and modify the existing sprinkler system. Two additional irrigation zones were installed. As a result I am downgrading my 5 star rating to 2 stars based on the lawn condition presently and the amount of work I am now faced with doing to get it back to an acceptable standard. They did a good job with the landscaping aspect however they fell short on the irrigation part. The modifications made resulted in one rather large area receiving overlapping spray from different zones and has caused fungus at the grass root level. At the same time there are a couple of smaller areas that are not adequately covered and results in stressed grass. I cannot make adjustments to the run times because of the way the zones are laid out. As I have recently learned what should have been done was a better assessment of the spray patterns and the rotor nozzles swapped out to ensure a matched precipitation rate across all sprinklers for specific areas. Instead, all of the rotors were installed with the default 3 GPM nozzles regardless of the spray arch they were set at. While the AdvanceScape team did a great job in the other areas they we contracted to perform I can no longer recommend them to install irrigation systems. They simply did not do their due diligence when designing spray pattern coverage and they do not follow up to see how the work is holding up.

We drove far out of way to meet with Jeff, the owner of Rec Nursery, he came to us highly recommended. Jeff told us he was really busy and he would have to get back to me to let me know when he could start my landscaping job. I waited 2 months and did not hear back from anyone. I recently called Jeff to get an update. He told me that he was no longer doing landscaping work and he is only selling plants and trees wholesale. I let him know that it would have been nice if he told me he was not interested in doing my job and not stringing me along. Since Jeff sells to landscapers, I asked him if he knew anyone that he could recommend, he said he did not. Unfortunately, I have found that many of the landscapers that I have worked with, in central Florida, are typically unreliable and do not focus on customer service. This is such a shame. I am still searching for a fair and reliable landscaper near Clermont, FL, that will show up and handle my 5 properties for me.

Monday the sod looked like crap and weed. By Tuesday nice fresh batches of sod were arriving. I think the sod I received was certainly not what was picked out. By delivery time Thursday it looked like dry weeds and mixed crap. Sod was dry, a mixture of multiple types of grass and the cheapest street side Bahia. Grass pallets completely fell apart at the touch with lots of big tree roots. I called Miller's to state I received bad grass. Plus I had several experts look at the grass who said it was "not Argentine Bahia" but wild grass. Millers would not honor my request or do anything about the grass. One lady simply laughed while I was complaining to the other salespersons. Grass is too costly to be left hanging. Being a repeat client I was a Very upset and dissatisfied repeat client. Watch what you buy. Feels like a bait and switch experience.

They told me they offer one-year tree replacement guarantee when I made the purchase. Upon arrival half of trees were barely alive. After the nursery planted the trees, I was shocked when they asked to be paid $700 in cash for the service. A week later, two of the trees they planted died. I called Pokey's, they told me they will schedule to come by my house to replace the dead trees. It has been well over two months and I still have not heard anything back from them.
