Had a great honeymoon but have had a HORRIBLE experience trying to get our refunds and travel insurance processed. We had stuff canceled due to the Paris strikes in March. It's been almost 5 months. The refund has been sent to her from the vendors, and she's not giving the money to us. She was refunded but is having us claim it on our travel insurance. It's been consistent back and forth for months of saying she will refund us. It looks like we will have to go to court to get our month back of $3,000+. She won't give us a cost breakdown of our trip for the insurance claim and says the company only does one lump sum. 2 of our hotels confirmed she used Expedia for her hotel booking. We've sent her bank statements and everything. Really great to do to newlyweds. Absolutely horrifying way to run a business. read more

I can't say enough about this company! Everyone is there for your every need, all day any day. We worked with Pete Pappas to plan our destination wedding and things couldn't have gone better. Pete handled all of our guests, our travel, our wedding planning, my sanity, insanity and then some! If an issue arose, Pete took care of it swiftly and professionally with 'his bride's' best interest always in mind. The issues that did come up were mostly with the resort and handled with extreme professionalism by Travelsmiths. I had some communication issues with wedding planning via email with the resort so Sally took it upon herself to host a conference call to have everything sorted out which was above and beyond. I bet if I had asked, she would have flown down there to make sure all went well; thats the level of personal care given. We were able to go away and completely immerse ourselves in our wedding and 'island time' with total confidence and trust in Travelsmiths. I spent a week in Cancun at the El Dorado for the DDP Yoga retreat. Travelsmiths booked my hotel and I took care of making the flight arrangements. Here's where Ashley, Sally and the rest of the Travelsmiths delivered the service that makes 5 stars not even close to enough. My flight was delayed because of Hurricane Arthur and to make matters worse, when I got to Cancun I found that the airline lost my bag. Sally Jane and Paul (the owners) were also on the retreat and in addition to inviting me out to dinner with them and their family and friends, went out of their way to help get my bags back. Sally was up late multiple nights and early multiple mornings on the phone with the airline poking and prodding them to find the bag and get it delivered. When the airline dragged it's feet and it looked like we weren't going to find the bag, she rented a car, drove me in to Cancun and came with me to help me find some clothes so I could enjoy the rest of my week. This level of service is almost unheard of anymore and I want to repeat, the Travelsmiths did not book my flight to Cancun! They owed me no extra help and still went so far beyond the call of duty that I'm ashamed that I wasn't able to do more for them other than make sure I never book a flight, a hotel, or a trip through anyone else ever, ever again. It's one thing to provide good customer service. It's another to make someone feel like family. Sally Jane, Paul, their lovely family and the staff at Travelsmiths did just that. I am a world traveler both domestically and internationally. Sally, Joy, Jen, and Joy have all gone out of their way to help me. The biggest mistake I made was not using them sooner! I always booked all of my own hotels and travel for the past fifteen years and one day I decided to give them a try. I was shocked! They set up 6 airline flights, 3 hotels and multiple tours and packages in San Francisco and 3 islands in Hawaii covering a 10 day span and not one detail was overlooked. I recently took a trip to Cancun, with TravelSmiths for a DDPYoga Retreat. I was a little nervous about traveling alone, but knew that once I got there, Lexi from TravelSmiths would be there and all would be well! I can't begin to describe how amazing and awesome this trip was! Lexi was on top of everything. For the first 3 or 4 days, we had rain, which meant that our DDPYoga workouts had to be moved. We spent months trying to find a great travel agent to help us make our fantasy wedding come true, but none of them clicked. With one call with Sally, I instantly felt a connection, followed by a calmness and confidence that this company would be the one that would help in making our dream wedding come true. The first step was finding a destination, where do you start! Sally took the time to have numerous phone calls with my then fiancé about what we preferred. She asked us all types of questions, helping us narrow down island by island. Once we picked Jamaica, the TravelSmith team helped us get down there Labor Day weekend for a preview. In addition to having Sally help with choosing our destination, we had also met Jamie, our wedding planner. She was absolutely unbelievable. I would not recommend using TravelSmith. My dealing with them was for a destination wedding that was to take place in the Dominican Republic June 2020. I made an initial deposit of $300 for 2 people in April 2019. When there was news of several deaths of vacationers in the DR, the bride and groom changed the venue to Los Cabo's. I informed TravelSmith that we would no longer be able to attend. I did not want my deposit refunded, I wanted it transferred to the bride and groom. I was told it was non-transferable and non-refundable. To me it was like buying a Ford but being told I would get a Chevy. I was making a deposit for one destination but now being told I had to go to another destination. It was September when I notified our consultant that we would no longer be going. Plenty of time for the resort to fill our rooms. But it is not the resort that is keeping our money, it is a TravelSmith. Do not understand why they could not give our deposit to the couple getting married. Do not use them! read more

This place is a waste of time, they give you a much higher price for the same package elsewhere. I used them for my honeymoon and they played games with the price. If I wasnt a well informed person I would have paid alot more then I should have. I ended up giving them a second chance to book my one year with my wife and they again were much higher and after getting a price squared away they couldnt wait 24 for me to bring them the money to book it. I had previously used a Travel Agent for a Family Trip and I wasn't that impressed. It wasn't that the Travel Agent was bad but I didn't see her do anything that I could not do for myself. I then went to a Travel Show to see where we could go for our next vacation. Once again most travel agents could only give me brochure and not personally speak to me about the Resorts. I then met Sally Jane Smith of The TravelSmiths. Sally Jane really set herself out from the rest because she knew all these different vacation destinations personally(and many of the managers there) and could tell me the details about them so I could decide what is best for my family and myself. She has such an enthusiasm for your vacation that you would think she was going with you. We decided on a Disney Cruise but even after we purchased Sally kept working to get us a room upgraded which she accomplished. When Sally says she works 24/7 she means it because I would call her at 9:00 PM just to leave a message and to my surprise I would find her still in her office. She also gives us many valuable tips for how to save money on our vacation. For this years trip my wife and I wanted to go to a resort and didn't know where to go. Unfortunately for us Sally was going on her own vacation at the time so I could not work with her and was given to her Travel Consultant Teresa. I was a little bit worried at first because I loved working with Sally before but Teresa proved to be excellent as well. I gave Teresa my budget and the details for what I wanted for our vacation. Since we were traveling around Christmas time many of the airfares were astronomical or had long layovers which I did not want with kids. I did not think we would be able to find something that fit our budget but Teresa searched and finally found flights that were affordable without long layovers. Also many of the resorts charged a fee for kids four and under for their Kids Club or did not take kids four and under at all. My three year old daughter was potty trained and I did not want to sit on the beach at an all inclusive with the clock ticking on what we owe for her or separate her from her brother. Teresa found us the Now Larimar in Punta Cana which had a Kids Club that accepted kids 3 and up. Teresa had stayed at the resort herself and told us all the details. Not only that but after we booked Teresa still kept working for us. She got our flight bumped up to First Class which the kids loved cause they got to be pampered. (Their parents didn't mind either). She also got our room upgraded to the Preferred Club where we had a huge terrace with a view of the ocean and the pool. This was all unexpected because it was the Holidays and we did not pay for this but it was much appreciated. This showed us that even after we purchased she was still working on our behalf. My husband and I recently took a 3 week vacation which we booked through TravelSmith's travel. Donna was wonderful. We basicly sat with her, talked about what we wanted, and she did the rest. There were lots of transfers, and airfare, etc that she needed to book. We went to Sandals Grande St. Lucian and the experience was outstanding.
