I have a credit card w travis in Davis Ca which the Cimpany was WONDERFUL!!! Staff and service were perfect!! Kind, cinsider, performed their jobs with joy and concern. About 3 years ago, a new CEO was appointed. Every since then, the company has gone down hill. My credit card has been compromised so many times I have lost track of exactly how many!! Their process of obtaining a new card is like trying to pull hens teeth ( hens don't have teeth). It takes multiple calls to them and when u finally get a person who might help w replacement card...it take weeks and weeks to get another card. Travis doesn't care about the everyday regular female, single, senior citizen, non wealthy person every since that new CEO came approximately 3 yrs ago. The business has gone downhill every since. I could just about write a book on how awful Tracis has become the past appriximately 3 years!!! Shame, on Travis Credit Union....Shame, SHAME, SHAME on that company w their "new" CEO.....SHAME!!! I recently left a very large bank, with a deservedly bad reputation, for California's 12th largest credit union, #TravisCreditUnion, at the suggestion of my solicitor, also in Davis. There is much to recommend #TravisCreditUnion, which I'll list here, along with a few suggestions for improvement. PROS Friendly, genuinely helpful, experienced people work here, including the terrific manager, 'Jason', who has been here seventeen years, since the Davis branch first opened. Small enough to be personal, big enough to have the resources and options most of us want. Solid online banking with a decent App. Community-minded, local and independent. Comfortable, attractive office. Excellent location. CONS This isn't just #TravisCreditUnion, but nearly every business, including Travis, doesn't answer the phone. I want to call my local Davis branch and have a real person, who works at that branch, answer my call. One disabled parking space is not nearly enough. A minimum of two please. Over 50% of disabled parking is used by non-disabled people. Including here. Don't email me with an address titled 'accountservicing'. This guarantees it will end up in my junk folder, unseen and unread. Use #TravisCreditUnion as your email address -- and try to make it look less like spam. Also, while we're on the subject of email, what is with the serif font? Dated and hard to read. Sans Serif Font Please. Something like 'Futura'. No real international banking. They can use a third party, but from my experience elsewhere that is fraught with issues. Even with the cons noted above, if you're looking for a local credit union in Davis, #TravisCreditUnion is an excellent choice. Highly recommend. read more

Customer service was TERRIBLE! Would not help just placed blame over and over. Kept telling me the same thing(Zelle Don't refund stop payment) that was not the question! I Asked: how would I know the recipient enrolled with their phone number or their email?? How would I know to ask this question until it was too late. Called after denied request because the recipient was enrolled with both. I would think their Travis Account Number would be the most important? Now the money is in limbo! Lesson Learned the hard way! What should have been taught is to put both email and phone number, not to call the recipient to ask which did they enroll with! Travis continues to amaze. They just rolled out another new on-line banking system that is flawed. It's bill pay feature has deleted all my bills and reinstalled those from about 10 years ago. Trying to get help by phone is useless. The wait times are enormous, the people who finally answer are unable to fix the situation, and all I get is delay. When a person calls in they are prisoners of the Travis phone system which plays the same horrible music over and over again, interspersed with self promoting advertisements for Travis. This is not the first time Travis has made major mistakes. Their service is unreliable. They have no respect for customers' time. Their mistakes are embarrassing. Travis Credit Union needs a new webmaster. It is NOT easy to simply find one's monthly statement online. AND, for some odd reason, they don't allow nicknaming accounts --you know, to assist you the client ? Wells Fargo does; we were with them for more than 30 years. (I don't want to go back to WF; I'd prefer to NOT leave Travis, but I find it ridiculous that they cannot make their web page user friendly. Just now, I phoned to let someone know my feeling about the web page and to see if they could tell me how to find the "e-statement" that comes out every month...but such a phrase "e-statement" does NOT appear anywhere online (nor can you find it by searching)...anyway, the phone robot told me I'd have to wait for 37 minutes to talk to someone. This is Wednesday, 2:00 pm midday...really, I have to wait that long?---- Because I like the bankers/staff at TCU on Covell, I give it 3 stars. read more

Terrible Credit Union. This company has some of the worst customer service. They service my auto loan. They will not send a paper invoice, because I don't have a banking account with them. I also can not utilize the online banking features. I have been trying to get a copy of my Lender's statement for two months. I just want to refinance my auto loan. I would have just transferred the loan to a different company, and never thought about Travis again. But no, they won't even give me a paper statement to be able to leave. Highly recommended! I've been banking here for years and realized I haven't left a review! After banking with other credit unions and banks, Travis CU in Davis has been one of the best experiences I've had! Unlike WF and BoA, I've never felt like Travis was preying on me for my measly funds. I've had to go inside monthly and always get great customer service, and have been given good advice about improving my credit when I needed it. Unfortunately the faceless customer service at the 800 number is less friendly, but needing to call that is rare and I have always gotten the help I needed. read more

I love this place. Customer service is tops. Rarely a line, plenty of staff. I have banked here for years, wired money, and pursued loans. They are amazing. I have experience with other banks and have had my best experiences here at my local credit union. My only recommendation is that their global number (1-800-877-8328) leaves you on hold for an eternity without a call back option or updates as to your place in line. Very rude workers I'm not sure where they find them at. Super unprofessional, unfriendly and incapable of empathy. There are only two employees that have been kind and professional. I had fraudulent charges on my account and needed to dispute them immediately. The worker kept circumventing the outcome of the situation. A simple "you'll most likely get your money back" or "typically the bank denies these kind of claims" was simple enough but she wants to do the "there's no guarantee" BS. No one wants to hear that kind of uncertainty coming from the person who handles their money, "oh that's not my department so I don't know" she was either really vapid or really stupid.... probably both. I came to this branch to do paperwork for an auto loan a while back. This has to be the absolute worst banking experience I have ever ever had. The banker I spoke with that day "I.J" had terrible customer service. I came in and there was a couple people ahead of me. No big deal. Another employee just had me sign in to a computer and wait to be called. Afterwards, an older gentleman came in. As he walked in, "IJ" said "next customer please!" and totally ignored me while deciding to help this older gentleman first. This was a setback of at least 30 minutes. Then, when he does get to me, things get worse. We are going through my auto loan paperwork and I need to pay California car sales tax. I choose to use my debit card. He needs to process the charge in another room and says "Ill be 5 minutes". 30 minutes later, he comes out from that other room and he is laughing with another co-worker. The worst is yet to come. The car I was purchasing had a lien on it because the previous owner had a balance yet to be paid. Nearing the completion of the paperwork, he explains that the loan money Travis will transfer to this other bank is generally done electronically (NOT TRUE). At that time, this kind of transaction was done by mail with a 10-day payout via cashier's check. All in all, I spent 3.5 hours of a Saturday afternoon at this branch. This is absolutely unacceptable customer service, and I have not been back since. Next time buying a car and/or needing a loan, I will go to another bank with a higher interest rate if it means better service. read more

I've been with Bank of America for more than 10 years and went to Travis Credit for an auto loan estimate after talking to BOA. Even with 10+ years with BOA and incredible credit the bank seemed to want more of my money than I thought was right so that's how I ended up at Travis. The MANAGER at Travis is such an honest man! I wish I remembered his name. But he helped me understand basically everything that goes into an auto loan not only with Travis but also if I went to the dealership and why BOA wanted that amount of money from me. I don't even have an account with Travis! He didn't even pressure me to open one and instead helped me figure out how to get the most bang for my buck!! What kind of BANK does that!?? I noticed a couple fraudulent charges on my debit card and went in to see if I could get a new card. Monica made my experience so quick and painless. She went above and beyond to reverse the non-sufficient funds charges that were caused by the fraudulent charges and was so kind and funny. I actually enjoyed the experience because of her! If I have any other issues with account I will be going straight to her, and I live in Rancho Cordova so having a bank that is about 20 minutes away is not by any means convenient but with their stellar customer service, I'll travel! I'm a huge fan of Travis CU. After having Bank of America illegitimately steal hundreds from me I realized a having a bank that is public with shareholders is a huge conflict of interest. So I started looking for a credit union, where the members are the shareholders. I searched far and wide around Davis and ended up finding Travis Credit Union. Since I've found Travis Credit Union I've brought my entire family and even friends over to the bank. Now it feels more like a community than a formal bank. Our whole family moved our accounts, including my husband's business account to Travis. We are so pleased. This is a place where "everyboby knows your name". Stay away from TCU. I've been with them 15 years for both personal and business. Fed up and now moving accounts. Here's why -- they were never able to get ACH working after years (they admitted they don't know why). Significantly higher interest rates than competitors on auto & home loans. App doesn't work 30% of the time when making remote online deposits (so frustrating). Employees don't take accountability. Often the website is down showing some "Microsoft Server Error". They don't answer their phones -- ever! Can't display member monthly statements online using Chrome or Explorer browser (you must use Firefox). ATM didn't dispense $400 w/draw at partner bank last month, TCU, still has yet to acknowledge the error, even after going into branch to report it to the manager directly (we tried calling, but remember, they don't ever answer their phones); now we're forced to file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency b/c that's our only recourse it appears. You would be better off stashing your cash in a shoebox under your bed. read more

This bank quite literally scammed me. I deposited $79 in cash into my account (I have a different credit union) through their ATM and when I went on my banks app that money NEVER came in. Cash deposits come in right away so it's not like it was pending either, I also did not put it into anywhere else except my checking account. I tried contacting my bank and they told me I was going to have contact Travis CU and no one was able to tell me anything at all or help me. $79 is a lot of money to take from someone. I've had several problems with the Wells Fargo account I've used for the last 10 years, so I decided to go to Travis Credit Union for a car loan. So happy I went here! IJ at the Davis location has been the most helpful and kind person I've ever spoken to at a bank. The customer service was so outstanding that I switched from Wells Fargo. TL;DR: Travis Credit Union is awesome. Go see IJ at the Davis location. More details: I was in a tight situation and needed a car loan really fast. After trying at a few banks I almost gave up. Not too long after walking into TCU Davis, I walked out with enough for my car. I've seriously never experienced better customer service anywhere. IJ walked me through the entire process and told me everything I needed to know to buy the car. He helped me work out a way to buy the car through Travis even though it was a few counties over, he coordinated paperwork getting done even when my cosigner and I couldn't be there at the same time, and he called me to check up on things several times throughout this process. I've never had someone be as kind or go as far out of their way to help me. I'm also completely new to loans and buying cars, and I couldn't have asked for a more helpful, easy to talk to person to guide me through it. Overall, I had such a good experience that I decided to switch to Travis completely.
