It was amazing! My sister-in-law and I took my 3-and-a-half year old nephew for his first horseback ride. I rode doubles with my nephew, so we weren't charged for a third person. I think doubles is a more fun and personal experience anyway. I was concerned that my nephew might be afraid of the horses; they are relatively large creatures after all. The horses were all very docile and friendly, so no worries there. We did a little loop for about an hour - we were having too much fun to pay attention to the time! It wasn't a nose-to-tail ride, which are so boring! We got to trot the horses, which my nephew absolutely loved! Trotting really made him giggle and squeal. Our guide, Travis, was great! He told us punny jokes and really made the ride an enjoyable experience. We all broke little branches and took leaves off of the trees we passed and threw them at each other throughout the ride. We saw some steers and a calf, and the cattledog that accompanied us found and chased three deer. Overall, a ton of fun and a wonderful first experience for my nephew! I highly recommended going here as it's definitely the best trail ride I've ever been on. read more

My family and I took an RV vacation and ended up in Fredricksburg. Knowing how much my daughters and I love horses, my husband booked a ride with Travis P. We have some riding experience (we ride weekly), and Travis P. was great in that he helped when needed, but otherwise let us do our thing. Each horse was very well suited to the rider (my 6 yr old rode the most precious Arabian gelding....I want one!) My daughters had a great time, and the trail was interesting and beautiful in topography and the views. My 3 yr old son even loved the ride (he sat with Daddy in a large enough saddle). The horses were wonderful, and very patient with the girls I felt. We never felt rushed on the ride, and enjoyed it immensely. We will certainly go back next time we are in the area. If you are looking for a calm horse ride through a beautiful countryside, this is the place for you. My wife and I were visiting the Fredericksburg area for its wineries and wanted a Texas trail ride. Travis was recommended and he delivered. We enjoyed a two hour ride on gentile rides with Travis and Elise. He joked and kept things light as we traversed the lush and hilly terrain. He was happy to give his thoughts on local restaurants. I had a delivery scheduled mid day in blanco on a Sunday (which is an hour from my house) so I was hoping to make it a family fun day. I called Travis Sunday morning to ask him some questions about his trail ride. I explained that I had my wife and 2 kids that were wanting to ride, but that we all varied in skill set. My 15 year old son had never ridden, my 11 year old daughter had ridden a couple times, and my wife and I (while no experts) were very comfortable on horses. Travis told me there would be no problems, that everyone had fun on his rides. It was very late notice and there was a chance of rain, so I didn't know if we would be able to get in. Travis let us know that he would be available after 230 because he had a previously booked training session, but that he would love to have us out. He even said he would prorate our session if it was cut short due to rain. We settled on a time and met him just after 3. My kids instantly took to him with his witty sense of humor and country charm. He saddled up the horses, gave each of us brief refresher lesson and put us in a pin riding the horse in circles to check out our knowledge and comfort level. My son had never ridden and was very apprehensive. I honestly didnt think my son was going to get over his fears, but Travis took his time and walked him through everything. Next thing you know, we are all on horses and ready to hit the trail. We rode for almost 2 hours and had a blast. My son still wasn't solid on the horse so Travis stuck by his side making him laugh while offering words of encouragement. We took off ahead and even opened up the horses on occasion. At the end of it all, we all had smiles on our faces... even my son. Travis P was wonderful and made our day a great one. There are many options for horseback riding ( I mean... we are in Texas) but when we do it again, it will definitely be with Travis P trail rides. We couldn't have been happier read more

A low rating for customer service at this point. How did you all even get booked for a ride? You can not book online. I paid for a service that I can't seem to get. Frustrated. The information on the website is wrong. They list all these house and he says it is wrong they aren't open those hours. I only get his answering machine. read more

It was a great ride. The horses and the scenery was beautiful. Travis was awesome and very friendly. I definitely recommend him. If you're going to use his services, make sure to set an appointment and show up on time. Other people usually ride too and show up on time. It's not only courteous for Travis, but for the other people riding. Again, hit him up! Great guy and great ride! read more

I had made a reservation over the phone 2 days for 3 at 14:30pm today. And he said it would be hot around that time. ( like he didn't want to do it almost). I said we still wanted to the be said since it would only be us 3 that we COULD show up IF WE WOULD LIKE TO at 215 to get saddled up. Well we couldn't so we showed up at the reservation time at 230 and he and a family were saddled up and once we got out of the car he yelled " no! I can't wait for y'all! We have to go! I can't wait. This started at 2!" In front of everyone there, it was very unprofessional and rude. And he started riding off and turned around and said "there's one at 7 if you want to come back but we can't now!" And left us there with questions unanswered, like how he never said 2 o clock and how we thought it was an option not requirement. We didn't know they were leaving at 230 and didn't know we would be left standing outside in awe about what just happened. He didn't get off the horse to talk to us or anything. We paid for 3 groupons and can't get a refund. we heard him yell at one of the kids about how he needed to pull the head up of the horse cause he was eating the grass, very rudely. we would reschedule but he is not a man we want to pay and lead our trail ride. We drove 1.5 hours to do this ride because of the good reviews. Idk if it was the heat or not a good day for him but no excuse for that behavior towards us and embarrassing us in front of others. I would never recommend him after that experience. read more

We purchased a Groupon and what a deal!!! We had a spectualr ride on Mother's Day with a small group. The horses where nice and not the typical nags you get other places and the scenery was beautiful! Travis was an exceptional wrangler. He was entertaining and accommodating. But he went above and beyond for a great customer experience when I lost my phone on the ride. Travis didn't blink an eye about spending extra time after the ride going back to look for it. He looked until he retrieved it for me. I was very thankful. But, I would remind everyone that it customary to tip the wrangler after the ride.... some of the people on our ride didn't tip...maybe because they didn't know or where too cheap. read more
