No book with rules or explanation of checkout outside a hidden thing in closet in hallway barely able to read such small print. The bed in the king size room smelt like little kid had wet the bed. The bedding should be cleaned properly when turning over rooms. The furnature needed a cleaning dusty curtains stained yellow from smoking or who knows what it was nasty. Had to run the water for five minutes to wash hands in the king size bedroom. The soap made my son break out. This is not a drug or smoke free place. They had air fresheners all over the sky bar area I can see why because on our third day they had taken them all down and the whole sky bar area smells of mildew. 2 of the 4 elevators were out of order. It wasn't super busy when we arrived, but as the night went on, it picked up. Even though there weren't that many people there, the people who were there were partying. They had good music and the waitstaff was awesome. Our server danced with my friend at one point since there were way more women there than men. The DJ also played "line dance" music which got a lot of the ladies out of their chairs. The drinks are strong and pretty cheap because everything is cheap in Panamá compared to the States. When we left, the restaurant downstairs was hopping. It seems that Tántalo basically turns into a nightclub in the evening. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but they apparently have really good food. It is also a hotel. Not sure if the noise from the bar is a problem for hotel guests at night, but it is something to consider if you're planning to stay there.

A Mixed Experience at The Pearl Rooftop Bar…read more We recently visited the Rooftop Bar at The Pearl in Rosemary Beach, and unfortunately, our experience was a real mix of wonderful service and some disappointing lapses in customer service. First, the bright spot was our server, Lauren. She was friendly, attentive, and made excellent drink and food suggestions. She was a pleasure to have as our server and truly represented the level of hospitality you would expect from a Forbes-recognized hotel. The grouper sandwich with fries was wonderful -- I would give the sandwich an 8/10. However, what happened when we ordered it was frustrating. Lauren asked if we would like the sandwich cut in half, and since my husband and I were splitting it, we said that would be great. We were then told that Executive Chef Jordan had instructed the kitchen staff that under no circumstances were they to cut a sandwich in half for a customer. Seriously? For a property known for outstanding service, this was a head-scratcher. We weren't asking for anything complicated or unreasonable -- simply to have a sandwich cut in half and placed on two plates. This is exactly the kind of small gesture that should be part of great hospitality. Instead, the kitchen turned a simple request into an unnecessary customer-service issue. I would give this aspect of the experience a 2/10. There was another issue that seems like an easy fix. My husband asked about the Virtuous Veggie sandwich, which was still listed on the menu. Lauren told us that it had been taken off the menu, along with the Mojo Boiled Peanuts, quite some time ago. Again, for a Forbes-recognized hotel, why are customers still being handed a laminated menu with items that are no longer available? Updating the menu seems like a pretty basic operational detail. Finally, there was the HUGE fan on the deck. We completely understand the need for air movement on a hot day, but this fan was so loud that it sounded like a jet engine taking off. There are much better alternatives. Misters and quieter, effective fans -- like the systems used at places such as Tommy Bahama Restaurants -- can keep guests comfortable without overwhelming the entire dining experience. So, our overall experience was definitely a mixed bag: Grouper sandwich: 8/10 ‍ Kitchen/chef customer service: 2/10 Lauren and our table service: 9/10 Lauren deserves a lot of credit for making our visit enjoyable despite the other issues. She was fantastic. The Pearl has a beautiful setting and the potential to deliver the exceptional experience its reputation promises. But the little things matter -- especially at a luxury property. A chef refusing to allow a sandwich to be cut in half for two guests who are sharing it is simply not the kind of hospitality I would expect from a Forbes-recognized hotel. Hopefully, management will take these comments as an opportunity to look at the guest experience from the customer's perspective. Sometimes the smallest accommodations make the biggest difference.

Quiet time is from 10 to 10. The nice things about it, is there are more owners than weekly rentals. So don't have all the traffic and congestion. The pools are not overcrowded and the pool deck always has chairs available. The beach access is nice as well it is not over crowded and kept clean. The location is past all the congestion of the strip, and it is easy to get on any road and go. Pier Park with traffic was 20 mins on 98. A few notes, they don't have programs to entertain kids, there are kids but they are few younger ones. There is only 3 units per floor, which is nice. They are all big and most rooms windows face the gulf! Overall this is a great property for beach time fun with out too much of the touristy mess the other properties on the strip bring!
