I was super surprised to see all of the offerings and the store layout totally isn't what I had expected. I've been to the places where they have glass counters and scoop up bags from behind - there is none of that here. The walls are adorned with bags of every variety of popcorn you could imagine from your standard white for $4 up to larger bags that will set you back over $15. My eyes were set on the Fat Boy (Double Cheese) but movie theater butter sounded fantastic too. Luckily, they will let you sample the offerings. I got what I call a small bag (there was a smaller bag) for about $9. Honestly, I don't want to know what's in this popcorn but you can't eat it out of the bag or you'll have cheesy hands. It definitely filled my desire. Based on past reviews, it sounds like this is a new location. This truly is a super cool, local business. It may be too convenient for me.

I could pass it up any day, but if the people I was with insisted on stopping in, I would get some cheesy popcorn instead. Now, the closest popcorn store to home is Laura's Gourmet Popcorn. The caramel popcorn from Laura's red wagon in the Shops of Grand Avenue was first offered to me by my husband, who I blame for making me aware that this treat exists. The thick coating is a light brown color and to me it's almost a toffee-like flavor. In any case, it's delicious, and pretty hard for me to say no to. Sometimes Laura's will also sell popcorn at the Westown Farmers' Market.

However the price was pretty high given the amount of popcorn that you get and the location isn't nearly as convenient for me as Goody Gourmet, which tends to have better prices as well. Service was pleasant if a bit slow. There wasn't anyone in there and I knew what I wanted right away but it took a good 15 minutes to fulfill my order due to a "labeling issue in the back." I liked the look of the place, from the art to the games on the tables and it would be a fun place to hang out for a bit though the food menu outside of the popcorn and spring rolls is a bit limiting for me, making it a bit unlikely for me to come and stay for a while.

The salted caramel chews are perfectly chewy and luscious and garnished with the slightest hint of salt to contrast the sweetness. Try eating just one! I've also had the chocolate caramels which are absolutely out of this world delicious. The products are a little pricey, but well worth the few extra dollars for the flavor and quality that sets them apart from the rest.
