A couple weeks ago Richard and his crew came to top a few trees in the back of my house. They talked me into removing them, (3) and I asked them not to damage the wash between my home and the neighbours and if so to please fix the rocks, they left it destroyed, and then they charged me $250 to kill the stumps and I had the "stump killer" tested and they used some kind of tool oil. Not what they said. So they charged me $250 to put tool oil on my stumps. My estimate for my wash is $3200 to recement the rocks in the side walls. I will NEVER use them again. They are rude and don't really care about property. Makes me wonder how many of these reviews are fake. They also left the back of my wall a mess. Just raked it all and tried to hide it. read more

Richard did a good job of trimming some big trees on our property. However, one of his employees backed into our saguaro cactus on May 14, 2022 and has not been replaced. He reassured me it would be. Richard just contacted me and he said he would be over today July 11 to replace the cactus. We were pleased with his work and I would recommend his tree service. The situation, Richard and I agreed, was one we wished had not happened. It was a miss understanding. He is willing to rectify and we are very satisfied with the outcome. read more

Richard and his crew are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! These guys downed a 70' palm tree for me in about 1 hour. They hauled off the trunks, ground the stump, AND cleaned everything up! I would highly recommend them if you need any kind of tree service. These guys are awesome and the price was right!!! read more

These folks are amazing! Called Richard day 1 and he was there on time day 2. I had overgrown trees in the wash behind my house and he did a hard trim to restore my view prior to house sale and the cleaned up the wash and left it in the "natural open space" condition eliminating any concerns from neighbors or HOA. Tree Monkey is amazing! I had three palm trees trees removed and you wouldn't even know they were there. They definitely have a system down using a bucket truck that made the task a lot easier then the traditional way of climbing the tree, in my opinion safer too! His prices were reasonable enough that I asked him to do a few other tasks in addition, and he obliged and stayed a little later than expected to get the job done. He and the team were respectful, quick, and very thorough. They had everything done in 90 minutes, which included trimming two trees back from electric wires, taking down two very large branches growing over a fence, removing a stump, and a few other things. We needed to have a huge tree removed. The leaves were all over the place and clogging up the filters of our pool. We got four estimates and Tree Monkey was truly the most reasonable and the most responsive. Responsive is pretty important because there are times when you wait days and days to get an estimate and you have to hound people to get an answer. Richard Barnett, the owner, made an appointment to come and remove the tree. He got here right on time and I couldn't believe how fast and efficient he and his son were. They did a wonderful job, they cleaned up beautifully, were respectful, polite and were very interested in making sure we were happy with their work. Tree Monkey was terrific, the did outstanding work and I recommend them without hesitation. I asked them what else they did and they said they do irrigation work and if I ever need that done I will call them immediately. Richard was prompt to reply with an estimate to remove a palm tree in my back yard. The quote I was given was to include removing the stump. Once they started the work, they determined they could not take out the stump for fear of damaging the surrounding flagstone patio. He made a point of telling me that in all of his years in business he had not caused any damage. However, in the process of removing my tree, they did damage an area of the patio. Richard told me he would be sending someone over to repair it. This was in early June of 2022 and the repair has still not been done. I have called him several times and each time he acts like he has no recollection of the incident and I have to repeat the story from the beginning. At the end of each conversation he apologizes and assures me it will be taken care of. It is now May 2023 and nothing has been repaired nor have I heard back from him. He also told me they would come back and remove the stump once it "rots" enough to be safely taken out with a pick axe. I'm not holding my breath... read more

they did what i call a "hatchet job" on my pine trees. i stated at the estimate meeting, that i wanted to be present to make sure the trimming was done my way, with not too much removed. instead by the time i saw the trees, i saw five feet of bare trunk. i was also told by richard, the owner, that he was an "arborist", which he proved to me, by how i witnessed how he trimmed the trees., that he had lied to me. that was the only reason that i hired him, then i discovered the hard way, that he was not an "arborist". also the irrigation system was to repaired in the estimate quote, (i had taken notes) instead it was was not done at all. i was told later that it was an extra job and extra price, at payment time. regarding payment time, i was presented with a bill for trimming only and i was then told they did not take credit cards, which i had specifically requested at estimate time and was given an o.k. to use. but at payment time using my credit card was denied by richard, that he had ever agreed to it. that alone created a problem for me, since i had planned on using a credit card for payment. i had to go to my bank and transfer funds to cover a check for payment, which was also more than i expected to have to pay. the whole job was "overpriced". there was a bare mimimun of cleanup done. i had to clean up the entrance to my door, due to the debris that was blown onto my patio. if you really care about your trees, look for another more "honest" company to do it. i believe that as a senior citizen, i was really taken advantage of. they do have some nice reviews, but not for the job they did for me. i cannot recommend tree monkeys. i learned a good lesson from them, which is to show me proof, that you are an "arborist". read more

We had a large mesquite tree in our front yard that we were trying to decide whether to get it trimmed or take it out. We found Monkey Tree on Yelp and called Richard to get an opinion and quote. He came over immediately and while looking at the tree he noticed a large crack in a very large limb. So we decided to just take it down, and since it was hanging over a sidewalk it needed to come down ASAP. Richard and his crew came to take it down within two days and on a Saturday. His prices were very reasonable, they showed up on time and did a fantastic job. Once the tree was removed, they cleaned everything up and hauled all the debris away. They did such a good job one of our neighbors asked if they could trim a small tree in their yard too, which they did. Highly recommend! read more
