Located in the popular highlands neighborhood of Louisville this piece of public art mural hangs high above another mural Carmichael kids as it's actually at the top of Carmichael's kids. So I'm assuming the upstairs is a different tenant as hunter s Thompson art doesn't exactly vibe or go hand in hand with a children's bookstore. Overall a cool and interesting addition to the rapidly growing Lousiville public art scene. Me and my buddy and fellow yelper Jeremy J has had a fun time going around neighborhoods and finding pieces like this one and learning about them.

Me and my friend and fellow yelper Jeremy J was spending a Saturday int he Shelby park and Nulu neighborhood to check out a few places and see some public art when we spotted this location. We were headed to red top for a hot dog and to ply ping pong when we noticed this. Within easy walking distance of this mural is a hour 7-10 other murals so if you are a fan of public art or murals then this is a great starting point. Overall cool piece of work that fits in nicely with the building theme and other pieces of art work in the neighborhood.

Located at what many consider the end of the waterfront park trail (could be the beginning depending where you park). The best way to explain how to find this place is go to Joe's Crab Shack and Stan d next to it and you can't miss it. Tucked in the back of the park near the river. If you walk straight back towards the road there also another cool sculpture called tetra. Gracehopper was made by sculptor Tony smith in 1989. It is one of the larger and more unique sculptures in the entire city. I always enjoy checking this sculpture and tetra out when visiting waterfront park. Two great pieces for the public art scene in the city of louisville.

The gardens is a free place to take a stroll through on nice weathered days. Outside of the beautiful plants and bushes they have a few cool sculptures and Supa Stupa is one of them. This cairn style art is very unique and different from anything else you will see in the city so that alone will make this piece and another piece the artist has here called folly family stick out. Overall pretty cool and simple looking piece that is a addition to the waterfront botanical gardens area.

Awesome and interesting public art attraction that discovered off a roadside America website…read more Located in Jeffersonville right across the bridge of my home in Louisville stands this 20 foot hub cap woman called "I am your Mother". Evidently sculptured in the mid 1980s. Really neat cool roadside attraction. It's a bit difficult to find. If you follow the address that's listed everywhere online you will just continue past the point where your gps says "you have arrived". Continue straight about a 1/4th of a mile and you will come to an intersection and will see her to your left. You can take a left and pull in that small alley and get out and checks out the sculpture and read about it and take advantage of the unique photo op. Really cool attraction that I had no idea existed. But now that I do I'll share the info with other locals and make more future trips here. Hopefully getting added on yelp will make this hidden gem not so hidden. Cool sight to see!
