That being said I didn't have huge expectations for this experience for the price. This is a Par 3/4 course that also has a driving range. What we got for 126$ on a Friday (which is probably more expensive than other days) was the following: 2 golf carts (very nice ones)- you must be 18 to drive and they take a DL as guarantee 9 holes 3 sets of clubs (I have a broken leg, so couldn't join in) I did cost 20$ to ride along 10 balls 10 tees We had to wait a bit for a golf cart, but you can also walk the course if you want the exercise (not us!) It was a beautiful day and the staff was friendly They had inexpensive snacks. Not a huge selection, but 2 jumbo hot dogs, chips, pickles, lollipops and 2 coffees was only 13.50. I highly recommend this facility for fun and beauty for beginners and experienced golfers for this 9 or 18 hole course!

I've now played here four weekends in a row. The staff is terrific, the layout rivals most high-end courses in Central Florida, and the conditions are consistently strong. They recently opened the signature par 3, and let me tell you--it'll test even a scratch golfer. Definitely recommend giving this place a try, no matter the commute. I'll be totally honest. I had next to no interest in the game but with so many golf courses here, well, I was missing out on important social opportunities and quality time with husband and friends. So let's give it a shot . Nicole listened and did not try to convince me how awesome golf is, instead we just worked together on skills and I asked questions about the game. She answered simply and I listened. I started playing golf and sort of held my own in the beginning and now I consider myself " not half bad" and enjoy playing. Whenever people say, whoa, nice shot, I always say I had a great teacher. Thank you, villages academy, you have a great instructor in Nicole.

Signed up for a one hour golf lesson at the Sarasota Practice Center, but they told me the wrong…read moretime and even wrote the time wrong down on the reminder card. I show up at the time I was told and show them my reminder card and of course nothing can be done about it. They apologized and told me I could come back in a few hours or rebook. The mistake was entirely their fault. Initially it took 20 minutes to book the lesson because they were using a new computer system that no one was good with, only for them to give me the wrong lesson time. Clearly they need to have a better tutorial on their computer system, as it was an overall huge waste of time. It's too bad. I had heard good things about The Villages and was looking forward to a golf lesson -- but it's expensive and they can't even work their own computer lesson booking system. Perhaps it was an honest mistake, but I was so turned off by the whole thing I didn't even bother rebooking.

We are beginners so I can't give technical disc golf review. It was an enjoyable walk. Watch out for the treacherous vine roots. They'll trip you if you are not careful. My only complaint is the lack of a decent sign directing you to the start.

In fact, a cop pulled me over and the first thing he asked me was, "Do you love horses?" I told him they were my life and he let me off the hook. I wasn't in Ocala or at OcalaBets for horses though. I was here for a poker tourney. After the tourney, I went to the bar and ordered some food, which was Steak Tips & Rice. It was served in a bowl that slopes downward toward you, which is always cool. If being a Pro Skater or Surfer is Cool Level 10, it always makes me feel like I'm at Cool Level 8.7, which is pretty high! And the food was delicious. I kept searching for one more grain of rice so I wouldn't be done yet, but eventually I was done. This made me sad. But then I chose to focus on the positive memories and I was happy again. The service here is strong. Everyone is friendly and efficient. Even the chef came out to say hello. The atmosphere is also a big win, but that's only if you're comfortable in a horse racing/poker environment. I would look past that anyway and go straight to the bar for food. It costs nothing to go and my meal was superb. Definitely recommended!
