I contacted Mike Hayes & Associates and scheduled and appointment for a consult during the last week of May. We have a big back yard project involving landscaping/grading/design around a pool that we needed help with. William came out as scheduled, looked at the area, took some measurements, etc. He quite honestly wasn't overly friendly and seemed dismissive of any ideas I had. Once he had all the necessary info he said he would get back to me with a plan and estimated cost. Fast forward, its now three weeks later. Not one word from from William or anyone else from the company. I'm not the kind of person who will chase people down to give them my business (and for a big project, nonetheless) so there is currently another landscaping company doing work in my back yard as I type this review. Mike Hayes & Associates probably do outstanding work, but their business response quite frankly is horrific.

We shopped around extensively at several professional landscapers and decided to go with William for a wide variety of reasons. He was VERY responsive to our landscaping desires and spent a great deal of time carefully drafting a specific plan for our side and back yards. William is extremely knowledgeable regarding local vegetation and trees, and offered numerous suggestions regarding what would and would not work. Once the plan was finalized we set a date for the work. He closely managed the entire landscaping process and the results were BEAUTIFUL. We've received many compliments on our side and back yards with many thanks to William's efforts. His prices were absolutely REASONABLE and he did NOT charge extra for all the design and drafting work he did for us unlike so many other landscaping firms in the area. I give William my strongest personal recommendation. We are SO pleased with his work!

We had a great experience today with the TN Tree Preservation crew! They removed a large tree…read morebetween our home, well, and barn - easily navigating between horse paddocks, pig pens, decks, and other trees. Everything was done safely, efficiently, and the whole crew was just pleasant to have over for the morning. We also had three stumps to grind. They left all spaces clean and tidy afterwards. Highly recommend, and an incredibly fair price point for the work, the crew needed, and the efficiency at which they can get it all done.

They also pruned a huge water maple that is right off our back porch to make it safe. They did a great job of clearing the brush out and the clean up was outstanding, even my roof got a total cleaning of leaves and branches . I would highly recommend these guys. Got an estimate of $700 which I thought seemed a little high for my small area but I saw the…read morecompany recommended on my HOA neighborhood page and I always like to use small local businesses when I can. None of this brings me any joy but I don't want anyone else to make the same mistake I did. After saying "we" our whole conversation he ends up showing up alone, at 4pm to do what I knew should be a 3 hr+ job for 2-3 people. Of course it gets dark and he is not finished but instead of coming back the next day knowing he could not see in the dark to make it look nice, he "finished up". Blew rubber mulch with his blower ALL over the place. In the road, on the driveway, all in the grass. He did not have a rake so of course we didn't mind letting his use one but he also came without clippers....he came back the next afternoon because he had removed 2 shrubs and needed to haul them off. Pulled up in a sedan, shoved them in the trunk and left a large amount of brush all over the sidewalk and road. I did message him when he asked how it looked and I told the truth. Instead of offering a partial refund which is what I would have done because this should have been $400 max at this level of experience he told me he didn't want to bother us or the neighbors by continuing cleanup after dark....said he still wanted to come and tidy things up. I told him since the HOA is strict that we couldn't just leave all this mess here and after 4 days of him not offering we ended up cleaning up what we could ourselves. Found out after the fact that he does not even live in my neighborhood yet was on posts recommending himself. He also is on this business page giving himself a 5 star review. I am a very reasonable person, if any attempt to make this right were made it would have been appreciated. Partially this was my fault for not checking into him better beforehand, lesson learned.
