Upon arrival, we were greeted friendly by the cashier who told us about current sales and new products. Every inch of this store is visually pleasing, unique, and classy. I have purchased a few home decor pieces and plants from Smith and York, and am always pleased by the quality and selection offered. The owner selected such a cohesive and stylish collection of products and rotates new items in and out constantly. They also have a sister store next door focusing on kitchen and tabletop products called, Gather Kitchen Mercantile. Both are such a joy to visit and just an honor to have in downtown Columbia.

Needed to just get some guidance and maybe some assistance in reframing an 8x10 photo. Brought in an old frame with me. I've done this here before with wonderfully helpful staff. Not today. I had the misfortune of drawing Nina as my customer service rep. Explained what I needed and Nina couldn't wait to tell me "Okay, that's gonna be $40 for a refit." Explained I didn't need a refit...just some help getting my photo snugly fit into the frame, with maybe a sheet of backing cardboard. "Well, you brought your own frame so the charge is $40." I tried explaining again...with no change in attitude from Nina. Short, dismissive, abrupt with me...exact opposite of the last time a customer service rep patiently and professionally helped me in this store. Adios, Hobby Lobby! And Nina...you have a very bright future in killing retail sales.

I'd leave less than half a star…read more Josh- the appliance center manager was extremely unprofessional, unknowledgeable, disrespectful and unwilling to provide basic customer service. GE washing machine was sold to me, a top load with agitator, the machine worked great for 2 days, completely quit working, the repair man came from Nashville and said the motor had quit working. The best thing to do would be buy a new machine. Lowe's wouldn't do anything for this faulty washing machine they sold to me, which I, the customer bought in good faith. Do NOT buy any appliances from Lowe's. They do not stand behind their products, their manager Josh was extremely unprofessional, he had a horrible attitude and was extremely unprofessional. It's a disservice to the community to have someone in a management position who is so rude to frequent customers. It's hard to "shop local" when local companies don't stand behind their products, provide customer service and have basic human decency for the lemon of a hunk of junk washing machine I spent $700 on. I will choose to drive North, or Amazon.
