Situated perfectly a few doors down from Bear Den Books, Treetop is both a mobile coffee truck (we've seen them out-and-about around town) and this brick and mortar awesomeness. Inside, it has a touch of 70's flair and midcentury pizzazz in a small but serene space. Seating is limited, with a few cozy seating spots and many bar seats and low-top tables. The wi-fi was rockin' and many outlets being put to good, techie use. The barista warmly greeted us and quickly got to work with our creations-a cold brew and a hot latte. There is a $1 upgrade for dairy alternatives and any sugar and sweetener is in a self-serve area, not added into the drink (although the barista asked me if that's okay, thus, I think she would have added if I preferred that). They have sugar and stevia, as an FYI for anyone who wants/needs a different option. They have a few baked treats and a few seasonal coffee flavors and add-in flavors and beyond that, the drink menu is simplistic. My latte was the creamiest, foamiest latte in all the land. The coffee itself was a touch more bitter than we like but we were able to doctor it up nicely with stevia. Cute spot with a lovely view of the surrounding, scenic neighborhood. read more

Our order: seasonal latte and cold brew I typically am not one for foam but this latte got me. Beyond its beautiful aesthetics, the milky layer provided a rich and nutty sweetness that complemented the dark and earthy tones of the espresso. The cold brew was quite the adventure, taking in every layer, one at a time. What started out as subtle sweetness quickly turned into a cacao aroma and ended at citrus tartness. Small but mighty brick and mortar shop in a quaint neighborhood across from a church and lined with other local businesses. Bar stools, lounge chair, work bench, they've got it all. Certainly a hidden gem in residential Knoxville. So glad we stopped by! read more

This coffee shop radiates everything we love about 2021. It's bright and cheerful, a little mid century but more modern than mid. And it's super laid back. WFH vibes and all. It's easily a space I could see myself relaxing in for hours. The coffee is delicious but very expensive. I ordered a specialty latte and chai latte the total came out to just under $14 and that was before tip. That being said the flavors are very unique and definitely built using house-made syrups and infusions. Stopped by during a visit to Knox and I will now be stopping by every time I'm in town. Their seasonal menu was super unique and delicious! Not your usual fall PSL which I really appreciated. The coffee was delicious and perfectly balanced with the flavored lattes tasting both like their respective flavors and also still like coffee! The best! The staff was so friendly and smiling. It appeared as though they like their jobs, which in my opinion makes a place so much more enjoyable! They also were giving away orange bows in remembrance for a coworker and community member. These guys are intentional, personable, and highly prioritize your experience of their space and their coffee! They are knowledgeable in craft coffee, and open to discussion to travelers. Baked goods were delicious and the design of their space is super aesthetically pleasing. I had a great conversation with the barista and owner (co owner?) of the shop about Kurt Vonnegut, TN, and trading cool travel stories and aspirations. Can't wait to come back here one day. We didn't have any food but we strictly went in for coffee. The service was excellent the guy taking our order was so nice! Super quick service the coffee was good just not sweet if you are looking for a sweet coffee this might not be the place for you but I would definitely go back! Was really excited about this place based off the reviews and anesthetic. My husband ordered a Carmel latte and they didn't have Carmel so he ordered the Vday special "raspberry mocha". Unfortunately it is a very bland drink. Can't taste the raspberry at all, so that's disappointing. Also, don't know how I feel about how small their large is. Treetop's brick and morter is just about everything I want in a local coffee shop. It is located in the middle of one of West Knoxvilles oldest and most beautiful neighborhoods. If you aren't from here and it's a pretty day, come sip some coffee in the morning, brunch next door, then walk the boulevard. You won't be sorry. Inside Treetop you will find around 20 seats, bar seating, sitting chairs, and small tables. The bar top seating allows you to look out into the beautiful outdoors. The sitting chairs are also tucked in next to the windows as well. If you need to move in for the day like I did, there are plenty of outlets and they have wifi. I ordered their drip of the day which was a natural washed Ethiopian and it was delightful! They have all the usuals and about 3 seasonal latte options. I did get a second cup of coffee for half off. Because I was setting up to get some work done, I need something to nibble and the cinnamon roll was 1000% the right choice. It was warmed perfectly and topped with cream cheese icing. It paired so well with the coffee. The staff was attentive and kind. It was a guys first day, but it was obvious he was already a pro. I am looking forward to going again. Oh! Oh! Lovely, coffee shop, friendly folks, and most importantly, fantastic coffee. Driving through the area, we settled on this place and picked up an oatmeal milk cappuccino. I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication, but they made an almond milk cappuccino first and were generous enough to replace it with what I wanted.
