Trek Ardmore totally understands the customer service concept. I came in with an online Lectric (low end) e-bike and expected an "attitude" as I was not one of their customers, plus I had the "AUDACITY" to buy a low end online bike. I had been to Cadence prior and was pretty much told that unless I had purchased one of THEIR bikes, there was nothing they could do for me!!! Anthony was fantastic at Trek. Got my bike tuned up and I ended up purchasing an expensive Thule bike rack and a bunch of accessories. He was knowledgeable and happy to help me any way he could as I was a newbie e-bike rider. Ardmore Trek ( and the entire staff) understand the lifetime value of a customer. Today's minor repair often leads to a future customer. The staff here is extremely friendly here, so I am not sure what the one star review listed below is speaking about. I was greatly immediately after entering the shop looking for a new helmet. Andrew was helpful with showing me all the helmets on display. There are many to choose from and I guess fashion is important, but to me, it's just a helmet so my purchase was solely on protecting the brain. I picked the simple black one. Lori rang me out and offer more words of encouragement. Luke added some air to my tires which was nice as well. This was my second visit here and I will return to service my bike in the future. read more

I went here when another local bike shop tried to rip me off. What they said would cost over $400 to fix, these guys did for about $80 and, six months later, the bike still works like new. I had an appointment in Ardmore and after a meal at PokeOno, I decided to stop off at Human Zoom to fill some time. I was quickly approached by a staff member who kindly asked me if I needed help with anything. After that, I looked around the store to see if I wanted anything. I realized that they had a phone holder that is meant for your bike. I though that would be nice to have on my bike rides so I decided to purchase that. At checkout, the guy was nice and asked me if I found everything I was looking for. The store itself is nice with bikes and biking gear including helmets for sale. Highly recommend this bike shop. Had the best service and the kindest workers. Just went in for a flat tire repair and it only took about five minutes and was $10 for the repair and $8 for a new inner tube. The worker even accommodated me and worked with the bike already in the car just taking off the front tire to repair leaving the rest in the car for ease. Cannot recommend Trek enough. read more

I have never bought a bicycle here, but I am treated very well every time I come into the store - whether it is to buy a bike computer, tires, tubes, de-greaser, lubricant, get a bike repaired, etc. Yesterday I asked about upgrading my mountain bike and was skeptical about the new Trek bikes, which comes only with 29" wheels for a person my size. This morning they set me up with a Trek Fuel 9.8, and let me take it out on the trails. Although I will not be buying this bike (and, sorry I prefer my 26" wheels and will probably buy a bike with 27.5" wheels), I absolutely appreciated the way I was treated and will recommend this store to friends who are in the market for a bike. I used to go when the store was called Human Zoom Bikes and Boards. Now the name of the store is Trek Bikes at Ardmore. I hope that my review still counts. Anyway, I went to get a tune up on my road bike (cleaning, tightening breaks, checking of other stuff) and the turn around was a couple of days. They did a fantastic job in letting me know the status of my bike such as time left on my breaks, tires, and chain. My bike was great when I got it and it was riding smooth! The only thing I wish the store had was a student discount since there are a lot of colleges/universities around the area and some students, like myself, wouldn't mind getting a small discount. Overall, I would come here again to get a tune up on my bike. Good customer service. read more

My girlfriend and I have been contemplating getting road bikes for a while now, seeking out that next new type of exercise and our love for the outdoors. After moving onto the mainline, we ran past human zoom in Ardmore on foot and stopped in many times to test ride and fit ourselves on different bikes. Anthony, and Nick couldn't have been more helpful each and every time. They provided us newbies the answers we needed, a long with a few laughs. Ended up leaving one day with a TREK FX3 Hybrid and I couldn't be happier. My girlfriend and her mom plan on purchasing two bikes respectively this weekend. Cheers to a small-business that doesn't haggle, or shun away from riders of all skill levels! I had a couple of problems with a 29er I got from them and they went to bat for me and got the manufacturer to be more than reasonable (with a pretty quick turn around.) I have been going to this store my entire life (I'm 29) got my first real Mountain Bike from them in 2002 (Trek Alpha 4500) and can remember buying it from Anthony (Ardmore Manager) - who has been there 20 years. About a month ago I took my bike in for a tune up and to replace a bunch of parts, work was done quickly and done correct. After riding for a month, I decided it was time to invest in a modern new mountain bike - went in yesterday and placed an order for a 2016 EX8 29inch (also from Anthony) - his help in letting me test ride a bike and talking through the features was excellent. The staff is generally unfriendly. Ordered an important part which was supposed to take a couple of days and it's been a week. I called to make sure everything was okay and received no response. Human Zoom in Ardmore is a great store for the casual cyclist. They might not have the high-end selection that you see in other stores, but the staff is really knowledgeable and unpretentious. Its a great place for most parts, tune-ups and repairs. read more

I bought my first bike from Jim at Human Zoom in Ardmore. I had done some research, so I knew what I wanted, a Trek 72. Jim took his time and allowed me to road test the bikes to ensure that I had the perfect fit. As I had not ridden in a while, Jim explained the braking and shifting systems. After the sale, he demonstrated how to take off the front wheel so that I could put it in my car. He was patient as I tried to duplicate what he had shown me. Before putting it in the car, Jim sensed that something was wrong with the front wheel and was willing to take take it back into the store to fix it. Fortunately, nothing was wrong, I had just forgotten to tighten the wheel back in place. read more

I just bought my first road bike and Human Zoom in Ardmore. It was a wonderful experience from the start to finish! I went in to the store and instantly began admiring a Trek 'Lexa' bike in purple. The young man working that day was very helpful in telling me about the bike and did not make me feel intimidated as a new biker whatsoever. I went home, day dreamed about the bike more, then returned a few days later to buy it. I was helped by Anthony who was great!!! I have taken my bike several times to get work done and also get advice, The mechanics always give there best advice, although it may not be what you always want to hear. The front wheel of my single speed was trashed and they gave me good advice as to whether or not buy or build one up. I took their advice and also went in there after i had my new wheel and they helped me with a couple of other problems and now my bike runs better than ever. Their service and staff are great and the time it took them very little time to get my bike up and running each time i brought it in. read more

I've been in a couple of times for small items and every time I get a bit of a shock at the prices. $8.5 for a tube!? If I were in the market for a new bike, I would look elsewhere since this shop only carries one brand, Trek. This is probably why even the small parts are overpriced, since they are Trek's house brands like Bontrager. read more

Great staff. Tom (I think that's what his name was) was extremely knowledgeable and was not trying to sell me stuff I did not need.. which a lot of other stores do. He suggested some not so obvious, yet useful improvements...and also tuned up my brakes for no charge. I had only gone in for a tire and tube change. The prices are pretty much what you'd find in other stores but what made a huge difference was how they treat the people coming in - friendly, to the point, quick and honest. Wasn't really happy with the service. Brought in a bike I got from a friend to get a 2nd brake installed(only had a front brake). I had an extra brake but didn't think it would fit since I was told elsewhere that I would need a long reach caliper brake. When I told the mechanic he told me he would definitely be able to fit the break and I didn't need a long reach caliper. He also told me that my bike needed a lot of other work done and it wasn't safe to ride. When I went to pick up my bike there was $150 worth of work and he didn't put on the 2nd brake. He told me the brake wouldn't fit(which is what I told him and he disagreed with originally). He also said he called and left a message about it but when I rechecked the message it didn't say anything about the brake it just said my bike was ready to pick up. I guess the work they did do was good they just didn't what I originally came in for. Also thought the staff was condescending and the service was overpriced. There are plenty of bike shops all over the main line and Philly and I would recommend taking your bike elsewhere. read more

I've been there countless times since I purchased my bike, picking up small bits of gear, questions, or help with work from their mechanics. I had tried a bunch, nearly all, of the small shops within reasonable driving distance searching for a first bike. They were hands-down the best... For it to be my first time there, I bought ODI grips, and they put both on backwards. The second time I came was because the seat clamp got very loose while I was riding. I asked them to tighten it, (one screw with an allen key) and they told me they could not service my bike at all because there was no front brake set. The forks had the mount on, but they said it was "too dangerous" that I had no front brakes. I do not understand how the front brakes correspond to them not being able to tighten my seat. Isn't it dangerous to have a seat that moves back and fourth while you ride? read more

We recently purchased my wife's first bike from the Ardmore location after shopping around at several area bike stores. Tim helped us out, spent two hours working with my wife to identify what type of bike would best suit her needs, and then dialed in what size frame would fit her correctly. We ended up with a quality bike well under budget (a Trek, although they carry Cannondale and Santa Cruz, among others).
