Cosmetically little worn down. However room smelled fresh, clean lenin, hot shower and by far the best bed I have ever slept on. Seriously they have orthopedic memory foam beds and very comfortable pillows. Best sleep I have ever had at any hotel. Also very affordable. Very close to LAX. I don't even know where to start. The area looks and feels pretty sketchy. Pulling into the place it looks a little old and run down. Few crackheads laying just west of the building and maybe some hookers I believe walking up and down imperial. If not hookers then just more crackheads. Cheap, quick & easy; you get what you pay for. Low water pressure, bathroom window didn't close, smelled like cigarettes/smoke, dem lighting. Hardwood floors, stone floor in shower. THE WATER IN THE SHOWER DID NOT GET HOT, it was lukewarm. Needed something cheap for a few hrs close to the airport, to take nap in on a long work break. Avoid at all costs This is hands down one of the worst places I've ever stayed. The photos online are completely misleading. When we arrived, the room was filthy, noisy, and clearly not cleaned at all. It felt unsafe and unhygienic from the moment we walked in. The manager was extremely rude and refused to cancel or refund the booking, even though we had only made the reservation 10 minutes before arriving. There was no willingness to resolve the issue or even acknowledge how unacceptable the conditions were. The situation got so bad that we even had to involve the police. They couldn't get anywhere either, and told us to file a chargeback because of how uncooperative and disrespectful the hotel was. This "hotel" is a scam -- dirty rooms, false advertising, and a hostile manager. Do yourself a favour and stay literally anywhere else. read more

This hotel looks newly renovated and remodeled, it is NOT. Its filthy! I wouldn't even shower there. The ice machine was "broken". The staff even called me at 11:09 to tell me it was time to check out. I have NEVER had a hotel call the room to kick me out. One roll of toilet paper in the room with only 1/3 of the roll left. Booked a room for one night due to the hubby flying off early morning out of LAX and us not wanting to wake up at 3am to drive to the airport. Made the reservation on booking.com and paid about $100, so the review is based upon price/quality ratio of this amount. We received an updated room without icky carpet, plus also updated bathroom. Cleanliness was up to standard, as we did not find any stains, trash, dust or other surprises that other people have mentioned. Check-in went smooth and they called in advance to get our ETA. The WiFi worked fine the entire time. Parking was available and free of charge, as this is a motel. The cons of our stay was mostly that the room was not very soundproof and I had to sleep with ear plugs (even then I still woke up a few times). If you are upstairs, the ground will shake when someone passes your room, so I can only imagine what a room on the downstairs floor sounds like when people walk around upstairs.The neighborhood is also still IngleHood, so keep that in mind. The cops came in the middle of the night to the hotel because of a fight in one of the rooms.. Overall though, I'd say it's a great place to stay if you need to fly out of LAX and don't want to overcharge for W Century Blvd hotels and parking. I'd probably stay here again if I can get a similar deal on the rate. read more

As a woman with OCD . I found this hotel to be professional, clean, all amenities supplied in the room with iron, iron board, blow dryer, refrigerator, microwave and a great spacious room. The front desk Smith was amazing. Very polite and kind. Very patient as I whiteness a client that had booked from a different company thinking she was with trend hotel. I read the other reviews and came to the conclusion that many people have not traveled out of the US. It is obvious that the hotel has been around for a long time, but the room was up to date and clean. In fact our room was not available by the 3pm check in and they were so accommodating. They offered to let us stay in another room (with only one bed) until our room was ready, we were given an automatic late check-out, and the owners/management actually went in assisted in cleaning the room. We never even asked, they just took care of us. We usually stay with family when we go to LA, but decided to stay closer to SoFi for our concert. It was worth it. My girlfriend and I came here over the weekend for an event at sofi stadium. Great amenities, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Great location, right next door to a McDonald's, Starbucks and a great taco place nearby as well. Bathrooms seemed to be recently renovated, room was super clean. 10/10 stay. On the outside it looks definitely like a motel on the inside it looks like a motel trying to be a hotel. However it was okay for our budget because we were on a tight one. It would have been nice if the cleaning crew washed the walls and they changed the sheets in the rooms because they are not the cleanest. The service however is great they are very helpful and accommodating. The beds are not comfortable at all they feel like a brick and the room has a smell most of the time. Overall i would definitely recommend it to lodgers that are staying a day or two. read more

Definitely make use of the 24/7 food delivery, because there is no fridge or microwave. We stayed here for two nights while visiting Universal Studios for Horror Night. I was skeptical about how the rooms were going to be just because sometimes when I look at motel reviews there seems to be only some rooms that's remodeled and I was afraid we might get an old room that did not look like the pictures online. However, when we entered our room, I was shocked to find a very spacious remodeled "bedroom". It included two queen sized beds, a flat screen with Direct TV, a desk and chair, a hair dryer hidden under the sink, a table, a comfy chair, iron/board, a mini fridge, and a huge mirror that has perfect lighting! The bathroom sink is separate from the shower and toilet; it's outside where the beds are at if that makes sense. The room was clean, but the floors were dirty if you're walking around barefoot because it's hardwood floors. The two men at the front were very friendly and accommodating. I called the front a few times to ask about the hair dryer, a Do Not Disturb sign, and the WiFi. There is an ice bucket in the room, so I thought ice would be free, but it's 50 cents and located outside by the front desk/office. The man at the front desk saw me with the ice bucket waiting for my sister to bring me 50cents and he just gave me 50cents for free. I had three other people with me on this trip and they enjoyed their stay here. They loved the room and want to come back here the next time we're in LA! We will be coming back for sure! read more

Excellent hotel that delivers what it promises. All fixtures and furnishings are updated. I appreciated the shower, which was roomy and properly sloped so water doesn't accumulate around you while you're showering. Staff is quite helpful and courteous. I enjoyed interacting with all three of the gentleman that were on duty at the desk during my most recent stay in early August. Trend is located directly across the street from a major hotel chain. By comparison, I would choose Trend any time over the other hotel. The neighborhood is loaded with eateries and other stores, pharmacies, and supermarkets. A really nice commercial section of Hawthorne. Trend Hotel is a asset to the community. I look forward to my next stay there. read more

After the hell that is LAX this hotel was a life saver. It not in a great neighborhood but it's really close to LAX, great price, and the rooms are really nice. Shower has awesome water pressure and nice stream, bed is large and comfortable, and nice TV's as well. The WiFi was also excellent. read more

Honestly, if I could give this place 6 stars I would just for the gentlemen at the front desk. They were so accommodating. They even allowed us to have an extra hour to check out. In fact, while we were on our way out I accidentally locked my keys in the car (not my finest moment). While explaining the situation to them they were very courteous and kind to allow us to continue staying in the room while we waited for AAA to arrive. I don't know very many hotel owners/staff that would be that understanding, especially during checkout. You can tell that they care about their guests. Aside from the excellent service, the room was tidy, spacious, and quiet. I stayed overnight at a spot in Hawthorne prior to discovering this place on Yelp. I paid $85 for cigarette burns on the mattress, tweaker upstairs neighbors dropping crap, and a very shoddy door that didn't feel secure. Then comes this place- very clean and well maintained for not much more money. Secure rooms that are clean with large comfortable King Sized Mattresses. The room is up to date with DirecTV a Samsung flat screen TV, and plenty of lighting. There's a small fridge and a clean shower. The mirror is backlit for convenience. I've paid more for much worse so what I got was a clean and comfortable room with decent amenities for under $100. read more

Great service, owners are super friendly, and the rooms are SOOO much better than the ones you would find in some hotels across the street and the price is more often than not cheaper. Only downside is the location of the place, you're going to stay here with gang members doing some kind of deal given away by the one 4 foot 9 Mexican man wearing clothes so big you could use them as a car cover standing outside of the rooms door all night long only moving to whisper something into the cracked open door every so often. Also you'll experience fights between pimps and their prostitutes, sometimes those can be quite fun, they will run out in their birthday suit just to be able to throw or scratch or kick something. And as much fun as that is, sometimes when it's 4am and you have that 4 foot 9 Mexican man swaying back and fourth in front of your window and you aren't sure if you left it cracked open or if it's shut and you're thoughts are being drowned out by the screaming of an angry black woman, it doesn't matter how comfortable the room is, you get in your car, hopefully remember to grab your wife and drive the F away. Don't expect any refund or anything because the owners never going to go down on the price, in fact if you don't mention it to him or if you aren't carefully paying attention he will charge you an extra 30 bucks and once you pay that's all she wrote. read more
