Awful advising staff and clueless allied health program advisors as well. They will provide no explanation as to why they don't accept transfer credit, even after having a letter from another institution sent to their school. Even if your course covers the same units, in addition to extra units not covered in their course, you will not get credit for it. On top of that, advisors will ensure they take as long as possible to respond to you. And who knows, they may not have responded at all if I didn't contact another staff member, as it makes them look bad when they are CC'd on the email. It's really sad that people can be so careless about programs that only operate once a year considering that the timeline can push back my education and chance at a career. Especially considering that I unexpectedly had to relocate to this state due to military orders and despite that, I prepared well in advance. I spent months preparing for this including taking & paying for the ACT (I only took the SAT in high school), gathering my transcripts, sending them over, and talking to academic advisors and program advisors, only for them to wait for the absolute last minute, literal DAYS before the program deadline for sonography to tell me that my transfer credits would not be accepted despite the course covering not only the same units, but even more advanced units than offered here. I'm so glad I took my time, money, and motivation to Troy University who accepted the same course that Trenholm denied, along with nearly all of my transfer credits. I also got set up with a program advisor and academic advisor who streamlined my process and helped me with everything I needed. I actually get mad whenever I hear Trenholm being advertised on the radio or billboards, because how do you have the time for that when you can't even dedicate a second of your time to help your students? Also, everyone knows Alabama needs more medical staff, especially more competent ones. Crazy to see how casual they are about this program, especially considering the next closest one is at minimum 1.5 hours away from Montgomery. read more

The MOST UNPROFESSIONAL SCHOOL i have ever dealt with. I was a student here for 2 semesters, after that I completely left. They don't answer the phones, your advisors are USELESS, no one there is any help, if you have an issue you will go through hell and high waters to get it fixed, the attitudes are horrible, the staff and professors are just helpless! ReL Truck Driving There are about 12 students at the beginning of class and some may transfer to another class. There are three trucks running for those students for the six hours you are there you will get two tries per day to try to learn the backing skills. This is just not enough times. Nearly 95% of the time you are there you are on the yard doing back exercises. You have to memorize the pre-trip on your own and its best to do this before you start the class. You can email them for the sheet which they give to students. And while you have to know the whole pre-trip you only have to be tested on one of 4 sections for which you choose a rubber eraser to find out which section you have. A is for front of the truck and engine, B is for driver door and coupling, C is for the trailer and D is everything. Always everyone seemed to draw B... lol And even if you were the poorest at doing the pre-trip, it does not seem to really matter as you are allowed a lot of errors. The skill of backing is not easy so if you have any experience this is a bonus. Walt said in a statement that they do not fail students but really if you cannot back within the cones I do not believe you will pass. Just because all the instructors are former truck drivers does not mean they are great at teaching. One of the hardest aspects is learning the offset and alley docking. It is taught to you by how you turn the wheel and while the instructor will get you to back the truck into the space at that moment it does not teach you how to do it again yourself and even watching more successful students who get it does not benefit you. You have to really teach yourself through a lot of trial and error and this is when I pause to ask myself why they needed $3000. Its so overpriced for what you get. The first week of class was a lot of time wasted on talking about non truck topics. The second week a lot of rain and you cannot use the yard to back in the rain because its dirt and gravel. Its not paved. This location will close down and relocate to another location in Montgomery, and I saw the other location in a parking lot. It looks so unprofessional. The best person I saw there was an instructor by the name of Dave Rose. He is so kind and incredibly easy and calming person. He teaches the night class. Please avoid the negative teachers like, Jim. Jim will try to insinuate you cannot do it. He did this to at least two students and he will backbite other students. Overall I am not sure if Trenholm is the best trucking school but I did pass. read more

I am attending this college to recieve an Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology. I started in this venture in the Spring of 2007 and will finish my last classes hopefully i the Fall of 2011. The Academic classes here are fine but not top notch as you would expect from Universities like Alabama or Auburn. The Academics are alot better than the trade classes though as the instructors I have had for my technical classes all seem to want to get us in there and get us out without paying particular detail to the individual students needs. Some learn faster than others and some learn slower. Fortunately for me, I came to this school with 20 years of experience under me and I survived it all with that. I would make this a last resort for a degree if you are in the degree seeking frame of mind. Check your other resources and make an educated decision. read more
