He's knowledgeable about tree health, tree cutting, and which trees are protected from cutting. He was sweet with our kids and our dogs. His team was kind, professional, and courteous. They cleaned up after the job. We couldn't have asked for a better experience -- and the price was lower than the competition. We weren't committed to going with the cheapest quote, but we decided on Ryan before we knew their price. Personality goes a long way when you're trusting someone with your roof :) 5 outta 5, y'all. Just the facts…read more Please see our agreement, where they state 100% satisfaction guarantee- lies 6/1 - I called Veterans tree service 6/1 - I met with a representative at the company and they gave me a estimate of $2000 this was to remove 2 trees and trim one in the front, the estimate person insured me they were professionals and could handle the job, he said it was no problem they'd be using a cherry picker. I was told I would have to wait two weeks. 6/11 - I called to see when the job was scheduled and Samantha told me she couldn't tell me until the morning of on Tuesday. 6/14 - call Samantha again on the morning she still told me she couldn't tell me when they were going to be there. I waited about 4 or 5 hours. 6/14 - I finally left cuz I had to get to a meeting I got a call from the owner telling me the job was going to be harder than the anticipated and he can do it but he had to charge me more.. then he told me he didn't want to do and he said his estimator didn't estimate the job correctly. He said I would need a cherry picker to do this job and I have to rent one and I took informed him the estimated told me that was the equipment he was going to use. I said no problem let's reschedule and go back and get the right equipment I'm back another day what day can you come that's why he said well I really don't think I want to do the job and he said I'm sorry instead of being sorry about we get the job done reschedule he said I can't do it and he hung up. 6/14 - I then called the office and spoke with Samantha Samantha informed me that his husband who is the one who owns the company she formed me that he didn't want to do the job I asked her to talk to him cuz I need to get it done she said I will talk to him and I will call you by the end of the day. 6/14 - again they left me hanging Samantha never called and I'm left with these two trees and they need to be removed.

On 8/14/26 Jovanna Zeller, CEO of the company came out for an estimate on trimming back a tree in…read moremy yard. She told me what all she could have her crew do and after about and hour and a half, I agreed to have the crew out to work a full day, for $5820.00. Jovanna said she would be back to direct the start of my work and the office would call with a schedule. The sevices was subsequently scheduled for 8/21/26. The crew arrived that morning precisely at 8 a.m. The crew worked until noon and informed me they were going to lunch, from which they returned at 1 p.m. During the course of the morning, I had asked the crew if they could cut down a small tree, approximately 6" in diameter, that was growing right next to a pet's grave in my back yard. The crew was shocked when I said "grave" but relaxed when I explained it was my beloved Rottweiler there, and to please take care not to disturb the grave. At this time, I also pointed out that there were two more graves beside a palm tree they were to trim. I said they were very obvious and were directly adjacent to the date palm on the outside of my pool cage. The crew assured me they would be careful. At 2 p.m. Dave, the crew chief, informed me that they were finished and he would show me around. It is to be noted that I have had several strokes, have a partially paralyzed leg, and walk with a cane. Dave started walking me around my house and they had indeed cleared around it. When we reached the back yard however, I asked what had happed to my Rottweiler's grave as all that was where the grave had been was dirt. Dave brushed it off as it just being under some dirt and I could just rake the dirt off. We continued around the house and I was distracted when we neared the area of the other graves and did not know their fate until later. I signed off on the work and the crew left. I did think I may have been overcharged because the crew was only at my home working for about 4 hours and 45 minutes. Due to a personal situation of extreme importance, I was busy and frequently away from home for the majority of the next week. During the week however, I received an email invoice for the service I received and was surprised to see a 203.00 surcharge on the bill if I chose to pay by debit card. I did call the office and Dorothy verified the charge. I forwarded information to Dorothy that a business may charge a customer a bank surcharge for paying by credit card but not a debit card. Dorothy called and said the company was indeed allowed to pass on the surcharge to debit cards because they were backed up by credit card companies. I told her she was wrong but I would then have to go to the bank to get a certified check as my online bank did not have checks. Before this could occur, I finally had a rainfree afternoon at home to slowly inspect all the work that was done. During my walk, I discovered the other two pet graves had been completely obliterated, a palm tree in my front yard had been knocked over and pushed out of the ground. My beautiful date palm had been trimmed not to the recommended imaginary line from 3 to 9 but so severly there was only a few fronds protruding from the top of the palm. There was also a great deal of debris left all over my yard making walking very difficult and my plans of future mowing put at risk as mowing would make projectiles of all the debris. I called Jovanna hoping to have her come out and see the mistakes that had been made and to hopefully lower the charge maybe 200.00 to help defray the cost of me hiring yet another company who could reconfigure the three pet graves and rake up the debris. I was never able to make my case with Jovanna as she went into a complete defensive mode and was very loud and disrespectful to me, causing me to simply hang up on her. Just a few minutes later, Jovanna appeared at my door, telling me she was going to have me arrested for theft of services and she was calling her crews to have them dump a truckload of logs and several truckloads of mulch in my driveway thereby trapping an elderly, handicapped stroke patient in the yard. I had never during all of this stated that I would not be paying for the service. I merely hoped as an owner and manager, she would acknowledge the mistakes and offer a token discount to defray the cost of repairs. Instead I was frightened the situation would escalate as Jovanna had brought a crew member with her and after her threats, I was uncertain of her intentions towards me. I ended up calling the Sheriff's Office and deputies arrived and trespassed Jovanna, and Miller Tree Care from my property. At the behest of the deputy, and the sudden decision by Jovanna that she could now accept my debit card payment without the surcharge, I paid the full charge of 5820.00 for slighty over a half day's work and multiple areas of damage. I would warn others to beware of this company and can certainly not recommend them at all.

Spoke to Mikey who said he'd get out to look at, what I called a big stick in the yard. Surprised he arrived at house within a couple of hours, just as promised. Gave a reasonable estimate. It fact it was lower than what all the 'armchair quarterbacks' said it would cost. So agreed to hire them. Problem was, other than saying he'd be back in a few days with paperwork, he never gave a definite date to start work. Problem solved, surprised and elated when Brad called to say they could be out in an 1-1/2 hour to do the job a couple of days later. Good to his word, they were there to do the job and for the agreed upon price. No additional or upcharges. Best of all, they cleaned up the pieces of tree and bark that littered the yard and street. The yard looks do empty without my tree but feel much better that it's gone and won't one day, or during the next storm, fall on our house or one our neighbor's . Mikey's did a decent job, for a reasonable price. They were quick, professional and knowledgeable.

I'm writing this review based on my personal experience working for Mikey's Tree Service…read more During my time there, I felt overworked, underpaid, and mistreated. I was asked on numerous occasions to stay late and work additional hours, and I experienced situations where I believe I was not properly compensated for the time I worked. I also personally experienced being shorted money on more than one occasion. There were also ongoing problems with equipment and maintenance. Employees would report repairs and problems that needed attention, but many times those issues were not addressed until the equipment eventually broke down. Afterward, the employees could be blamed for poor maintenance even though the problems had already been reported. I also witnessed jobs where employees were sent to collect payments from customers, including situations where the work was not yet completely finished. There were occasions afterward when we were sent back to customers to collect additional money, only for it to turn out that the customer had already paid what was owed. During the time I worked there, I personally saw a large number of employees come and go. I saw more than 20 people hired and subsequently leave or be fired. The explanation was often that employees had an attitude or that people weren't willing to work anymore. After seeing the same situation happen repeatedly with employee after employee, I came to a very different conclusion based on my own experience. In my experience, jobs were sometimes underbid, and then the employees were expected to work extremely hard and stay late to get the job completed. I felt that the pressure created by those situations was placed on the employees rather than being addressed through better planning, pricing, staffing, or investment in the business. I am not writing this review because of one bad day or one disagreement. I am writing it because of a pattern of experiences that I personally witnessed and experienced while working there. I believe employees deserve to be paid properly, treated with respect, provided with properly maintained equipment, and given reasonable expectations. Customers also deserve clear communication, fair treatment, and work handled professionally. Based on my personal experience working for Mikey's Tree Service, I would not recommend the company as an employer, and I personally would not hire the company to perform tree work for me. The company was also "top rated" by Home Advisor. The owner, Bobby Van Allen, came out in a timely manner and assessed the work I needed done (removal of a large tree). He came me a very reasonable estimate which turned out to be about $500.00 less than what was quoted from another company. Bobby was very professional yet friendly. I was impressed with how quickly his employees got the job done and the excellent job they did of clean up afterwards. I would definitely recommend Central Florida Tree and Debris.
