Decided to give the Kouzzina a try on my mother's 75th birthday. We had reserved their "library" room, but at the last minute were bumped...by a charity. Normally I would be pissed as there were 14 in my party and making plans for that many people last minute could have been a nightmare. They made up for it by giving us another secluded section of the restaurant that (after seeing) was better suited for our large group. They gave us a special huge tray of meats and cheeses for our troubles. The service was top and the food came out fast, at the right times so everyone could eat together and drinks were never empty. Our group came in waves even making things more difficult, but our server was definitely up to the task. The food was great and they even were able to serve up some dishes from their olden days that were no longer on the menu. I had two types of calamari, both were great, but the deep fried stuff is something you can get most anywhere - i recommend the grilled. It comes on a cast iron grill still sizzling and it is drenched with amazing olive flavor. I also had the Caesar salad with a blackened salmon on top. This is one of my go to combinations and they are rated way up there. I love a Caesar salad that almost burns your mouth with garlic (not so popular to people around me). I actually went back just a few weeks ago (twice) to have it again. All other meals had no complaints and as always, I begged for a few sample tastes off the other plates. They served the entire range of pasta, fish, chicken, salads and of course the other kind of Caesar that you drink. The place is also modern and beautiful inside and the bar is quite lively. Definitely no shortage on parking either. I can see this becoming my regular place to be whenever I get back to Sudbury.

TLDR - Fellow tourists, it worths the drive out of downtown to eat. Overall, 4 star value…read more We were tourists staying downtown where many good restaurants were, but we found the value, as in food-portion-price ratio, a bit lower. Don't get me wrong; the food was good, but we wanted better value. So we trekked 5 km out of downtown to where many chains opened shops and the locals dined. We came to J's Roadhouse on a Monday evening. It wasn't packed so we were seated promptly. We were immediately told that all appetizers were 30% off. So we ordered appetizers for dinner. The Flatbread Pizza ($16 regular price) was served hot and delicious. The poriton was generous, almost an app for 4 people or dinner for 2. The Appetizers Platter was huge. It could feed 3 people as dinner easy. The platter had fries, onion rings, scallops, cheese sticks and picklets, all of which were fried. Everything tasted okay/decent. Nothing surprisingly good or bad. But gosh, it was a good deal at $20 regular price, and a great deal at 30% off. I estimated that the prices were similar to downtown's, or maybe cheaper by $1 or $2. But the portion was visiably bigger. The food and services was similar to a regular Jack Astor's, Montanna or Kelsey's. In short, better value than downtown. Your money goes further mileage at J's Roadhouse.

Of course Tommy's was the best choice for this. We decided to share everything and just nibble as we sipped on some fine wine. The Angels&Cowboys was a perfect recommendation by our waiter. Nicest cab I've had in recent memory. We took the name of the rep and will be ordering a case. Simply superb. For apps, we inadvertently went with a mushroom theme, which worked out well. Our shared apps included the portobello mushroom crostini, delicate and crunchy at the same time. I devoured mine in 3 bites. The portobello stacker is always satisfying and my favourite menu item. I should have ordered one just for me. Third was that famous warm spinach salad. Wow. Sweet and complex flavours of maple, balsamic and again with more mushrooms. Unreal. Nearby tables acknowledged our orgasmic smiles and moans. Mains were simple and elegant. I got the lamb shank with the famous risotto suggested by chef Matt. Unreal. My dinner guest had the ravioli. I ate 1/4 of hers because it was insanely sublime. My lamb was falling off the bone and sent shivers down my neck with the first bite. Why can't I cook like this? Amazzzing. Dessert measured up, too. She had a simply perfect creme brule and i devoured a Christmas pudding with a mountain of cream on top. Thick and hearty but not too sweet. Three hours later, after some fancy coffees, we were floating in heaven. Food should be celebrated and this place give us reason to love life, even in weird times. Support local businesses. These guys do everything right. Tommy's is, by far, Sudbury's best kept secret. Excellent service, superb food with nice understated vibe... and excellent value. We will be back...again...and again.

Very nice restaurant. Love the fragrance as soon as we walk in. Nice decor/staircase. Impeccable service! Very delish food, from appetizer to dessert. Unforgettable dessert (bread pudding with mango peach and vanilla ice cream) was perfect 'closing'. Will definitely go back if we are in the area again.
