We came here for my birthday dinner, and although we had a good experience, it was just average, nothing too spectacular. Service was great, the waiters were incredibly friendly and even though it was a packed night they still took time to chat with our table. The ambiance was pleasant and inviting.
Entree:
- Oysters Kilpatrick. These were quite small, but they had a lot of bacon on it, more than others placed I've seen and it was absolutely delicious.
- Bruschetta: Average. There were only 2 large slices and it just wasn't as good as I expected it to be.
- King prawns. The sauce was really nice, wish they gave us some bread to dip the sauce in...
Main:
- Lobster Ravioli. I found this to be incredibly salty, and I could hardly taste the lobster in the ravioli, the sauce it came with was too overpowering.
- Seafood Linguini. My husband had this, and it was tasteless...we had to put in a lot of extra salt/pepper. There just wasn't enough sauce for all the different types of seafood (scallops, prawns, calamari).
- Duck. I only had a piece of this from my aunty's dish, but from what I tasted the duck was cooked ok, I just wish the skin was a bit crispier.
Dessert:
Creme brulee: Such a bummer, it just wasn't airy or fluffy, I found it to be too thick and sweet. It comes out in a larger ramekin than usual.
I wish the food was as good as the service. That's the only reason why I'm giving 3 stars. read more
