They told me that Auto Premiums with state farm in Oregon now increase $20 every six months whereas they used to not increase at all, regardless of accidents. Don't install the drive safe and save app. It's a scam. While it initially gave me a discount of 48.52, the next renewal period had me paying $20 MORE than I was paying BEFORE I got the drive safe and save app, with no accidents in between. They probably just want you to install the app so they can trap you into tracking your driving patterns. They initially told me it would only track mileage, but that was a lie. It tracks A LOT more than that: speed, left turns, right turns, stopping, accelerating, what time of day you drive, etc. Once they see how you drive (nobody is perfect in the app), they will find a way to charge you more than you would've been charged without the app.

After searching on Google, I was able to get in contact with Josiah Sanne who took the time to help me provide an auto insurance quote and explained everything in detail on how much I would be saving including bundling both my auto and homeowners policies together and also saving even more by utilizing their Drive Safe and Save bluetooth device that monitors your driving habits. Prior to this call, I was a loyal Allstate customer for more than 30 years. Their rates have drastically been on the rise and it's been very difficult for my family and I to keep up with their unreasonable rate increases which no longer comfortably fell under our budget. None of those 30 years of loyalty mattered or had any value to Allstate. You're just another number to them. Part of the motivation to shop around for a new policy was that I recently lost my job after almost 5 years at that previous employer and the current situation has put our family in financial hardship so I needed to explore ways to save money especially during this challenging time. Josiah was very cordial and he made my experience and entire process more pleasant. Josiah and I spent more than 30 minutes over the phone going over the numbers while trying to keep some of the same coverage amounts. He was able to get my policies straightened-out and help save money. He valued every second and minute of my time that I was on the phone with him. I saved a lot by ditching Allstate and redoing my Homeowners policy and also my auto coverage payments per month. Since my daughters are both in college, I anticipate some savings there as well. I've had State Farm Insurance on my home, vehicles and RVs for over 30 years. With only 4 MONTHS left to renewal, I received a notice that my homeowners' policy would not be renewed unless my roof was replaced before then. By February 12. In Oregon. After sending pictures of my (discolored, but still functional) roof to their office, I asked to speak with Jared. I was advised that "he only works on more important policies." NICE. It then took nearly a month for their underwriter to review the pictures and determine that the roof must be replaced by February 12, or no more homeowners' insurance. --Since the time I started needing insurance for anything, State Farm has been the "go to". Not anymore. Policy holders BEWARE, especially if you're "not important".
