Greens are decent, fairways not good. Course is full of hackers playing in five-somes. Expect a 6 hour round. Not worth it!!!!

So I see lots of negative reviews, but I'll say check the times. These are very old. I've been…read moreplaying the course regularly for the last 3 years. They hired a new greens keeper, and the improvements are tremendous. I've also spoke with the course manager on several occasions. This course has changed and it is far and away my favorite in the Kingsport area. It has an excellent mix of open and narrow fairways with a fair amount of up and down elevation. The greens are usually in the middle on speed, with the bunkers being challenging with high sides. They have excellent practice facilities and do a proper job of rotating the range so you always have good grass to hit from. The negatives... geese. There are 3 water obstacles and they can have geese issues. That's hard to manage but it's annoying when you have poop on the green. The other drawback is that the bunkers and traps aren't fluffed but honestly no one in the area really does. Because of the improvements and practice facilities, I believe the price to be very fair. I don't mind paying more for better conditions. To me, it has the most consistent course conditions. The heat can be rough, but they manage it fairly well. Better than most. The staff is younger at the clubhouse, but they have all been super nice and friendly. I've never had a single bad experience with any of them. They also have been very accommodating when I've played with my son. I appreciate them recognizing the situation and wanting him to have a great experience as well. One of the rangers stopped by one day and made a point to let him pick a ball he had found so he would have a "special" ball to play with. This is a great golf course. I wouldn't let the low score deter you. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and will come back again and again.

Do you want to play with you teenage boys? Don't go there. Do you want to feel welcome when you…read moreshow up to play? Don't go there. Do you want to play without being harassed by a ranger? Don't go there. We were the only ones out there on a HOT Saturday afternoon and some ranger on the course with nothing else to do decides to stop and harass us. Every time we go out there they make you feel like your an inconvenience, don't want you there, and definitely do not like anyone playing unless your over 65. Seems like all they want is to have the course and just look at it. It's always something every time we go out there. Well....that was the last time I go out there and spend 200.00 to play. I will take my business elsewhere. Oh I know, Warriors Path is right up the road. DO NOT PLAY HERE!
