Very Disappointed With Safelite's Customer Service…read more We have used Safelite many times over the years and in multiple states, and our experiences had always been positive. Unfortunately, this most recent experience has been extremely disappointing. During a service appointment at our home, as the sun went down, the technician damaged our vehicle (lift gate latch and interior paneling cracked). The technician said the latch needed to be recalibrated by Dodge and the damaged panels weren't discovered until the next morning. We immediately began contacting Safelite, and initially a representative told us that Safelite would take responsibility for the damage and that we would not need to go through our own insurance. We relied on that assurance. Unfortunately, 18 months later, the issue still has not been resolved. We have contacted Safelite numerous times and repeatedly been told that the appropriate person has been notified, that someone would follow up, or that there is no record of our previous calls. We have spent far too much time trying to get a straightforward issue resolved. At this point, the lack of communication and follow-through is incredibly frustrating. It feels as though Safelite has simply hoped we would give up and consider the matter closed. We have not. We have been loyal Safelite customers for years, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. We expected the company to stand behind its work and take responsibility when damage occurred during service. I sincerely hope Safelite takes the time to review this situation and finally provides the resolution we have been seeking for the past 18 months.
