I love stores with vendor booths! This one was sitting near the Ohio river and is found in the…read morequaint town of Madison, Indiana. It was the first time that I stopped here although I have visited Madison many times. It was fun walking through the booths checking out the items everyone had. There were lots of antique booths as well as some booths that had new items so you will find a mix of goods here. I love costume jewelry and was able to find a couple of unique pieces to bring home, I also have been on the hunt for a mirror and I found it there as well. In one of the new booths I found a purse/clutch that I really liked and of course had to bring it home. Lastly I found an art booth toward the front of the store that carried new items and a few items that were not new like ephemera packs. In the art booth they had some silicone molds that I have a project in mind for and they had a basket of them marked down so I indulged there. The prices, like all booth type stores, are determined by the vendor so there is always good and bad. We got up to the counter to pay and there were two people there doing the checkout and they got us wrapped up quickly and out of there. I will definitely be stopping here again as the husband was with me and I just did not get to shop look enough!

As this was a return trip to Madison, this mall was on my "must do" list. Lots of variety, some…read morereally cute booths and a lot to see. Upstairs was new since my last visit. Fun place to shop or browse!

This antique store has a hidden gem secret.....inside is a cream parlor that serves the best ice…read morecream in the Midwest. The ice cream is handmade by Sister Cleo, a 91 year old nun. All the ingredients are made by Cleo from scratch. For example, she extracts sassafras roots for the root beer flavor in her root beer ice cream. She offers about a dozen flavors, including a special flavor each month. My husband had an ice cream cookie sandwich, which he devoured so fast I couldn't get a photo. I had a cone filled with caramel ice cream which was creamy and of course, heavenly. So here's the best part...I went outside to eat my cone in their little garden. Sister Cleo was just arriving to work in her electric mobile chair from the nearby convent and we chatted. She is charming and interesting. So, there are antiques in the little shop. Jim, the clerk was kind and invited us to look around. They carry a nice selection of primitive and mostly American antiques. There are clocks, paintings, ancient kitchen ware, pottery, local artifacts and so much more. Prices were a bit steep for me, but I enjoyed looking. A tempting Circus poster caught my eye. So no matter where you are in the world, jump in your car, get on a plane, hop on a boat, get to Oldenburg, Indiana and try one of Sister Cleo's ice creams. And I hope you get to meet her. There is free street parking and the building is accessible.

We didn't intend to have ice cream but we thought we may as well. Ice cream was good and one scoop was a nice portion.
