Great prices and great services. I can't recommend Steve and his wife enough. His professionalism is unmatched. I'm not mechanically inclined and I'm definitely not a builder, but that wasn't a problem for Steve. I contacted Assembly Services of NJ(ASNJ) via the Yelp app on a Sunday night at like 11:15pm and Steve replied within minutes. We emailed back and forth for a while so I could give him an idea of what I needed in my apartment, and I could tell he was the man for the job. He gave me a quote before he arrived and that did not change once he got there, even though i actually added more stuff to my original request. Furthermore we scheduled for Thursday, he and his wife showed up a day early and it turned out I had the wrong wall mount. I tried to pay him for his time but he wouldn't take my money. He said get the right stuff and he'll be back the next day. True to his word he was! Didn't charge me a cent more! He's fast, professional and just all around a good guy. That's important when you've got a "stranger" in your home for a couple of hours. I know it wasn't ideal, but he didn't mine my 2y/o running around thru his work space. They even gave her a few tools and let her help. Services provided are immaculate. I don't think I'd change a door knob without hiring him first, that's how good he is. When you get his cell, the man responds asap and he works til 11pm. Can't get any better than that. His prices aren't reasonable, THEY'RE GREAT. If you're a novice like me, or even an expert, ASNJ is the way to go! You won't regret it. This isn't fluff. Hired Steven to assemble my Gazebo based on a referral. Bad idea! Unfortunately, based on the first introduction it seemed as if the project was doom fail. Steven and Robert arrived 1 hours (plus) to start the job then immediately ask to use the rest room. I was nice enough to accommodate. However, 3 hours in the assemble, Steven informed me that majority of the Gazebo pieces were incorrectly cut from the manufacturer and therefore I would need to order additional pieces as a replacement in order for them to complete the job. As I needed to get this assemble project completed before a particular upcoming event which was in 3 days, I immediately placed an emergency order with the manufacturer related to the correct Gazebo pieces. When the replacement pieces arrived I contacted Steven to reschedule a day to complete the assembly to my surprise Steven ignored my calls and the only reason I was able to reach him was through a unidentified number to which he picked up. He then made several excuses as to why he could come back right way (some delayed due to weather) however, it seems he did not want ro finish what was started. Long story short is he returned to finish the job only to be told again that the pieces that was ordered is still incorrect and would not be the roof of the Gazebo. Fast forward, I hired a completely different company to complete the project to which they stated that all the original Pieces were Correct!!!! They finish the job in 1 and half days. Steven and Jennifer are INCREDIBLE. They are professional, they are knowledgeable about what they do, they are timely, responsive, efficient, and MOST of all they are HONEST and FRIENDLY. I can't tell you how many handyman service companies I called before I called S&J, and how exorbitant the other companies wanted to charge me, and frankly, how rude they were. S&J is everything you would want in the services they offer (which are quite extensive) Steven and Jennifer came to my apartment a month ago when I just moved to Philly. They put together all my Ikea furniture and did it in just a couple of hours and all for a reasonable price (I think it was about $230 for a a BEAST of an Ikea bed frame with storage units, a 3 chest drawer, a long oval shaped dining table, the 4 chairs, a sofa-bed, and the coffee table). Steven even helped me out by putting some of his own personal screws into the dining table because it was literally collapsing due to the wooden dining table being held together by plastic rings (who knows why Ikea thought that would be smart?). I would hands-down refer anybody to S&J. I will be using them for all my handy-man needs (even replacing tube lights!) because they are just such great people to work with and they make sure to do a great job on whatever they do. read more

Steve did an excellent job setting up our Cedar Summit Lookout Lodge that we purchased from Costco. I noted to him multiple times that he was one of the most professional contractors/handymen I've ever worked with. Communication with Steve by e-mail was easy, and he was extremely quick with responses. At one point, our assembly date had to be rescheduled because of some logistical issues, and Steve explained the situation clearly and fully and was extremely apologetic. On assembly day, he arrived on-time, brought all his own tools, and got right to work. We hit a small snag with leveling which ended up adding time onto the project, but he was upfront about the issue and the additional cost. When the playset was finished, he sent a digital invoice by e-mail and even took digital copies of the additional service agreement we purchased from him for annual maintenance. Truly a professional in every aspect. I cannot recommend Steve enough, and I'm looking forward to working with Steve for other projects around the house! read more

Steve and Jennifer did a fantastic job hanging two TVs for me. They came all the way to Philadelphia and came prepared. My building did not have a perfect set up for wall mounting, but they customized the mounting to fit what I needed. Steve was very attentive, thorough, and professional. He worked with me on pricing, he arrived on time, and he even offered to help clean up afterwards. Most importantly, he called a few days later to check on how I was satisfied with the service. Steve and a co-worker came to assemble a swingset we ordered from Costco. They arrived on time and worked all day until it was complete. There were problems with the parts and missing screws and they were still able to improvise and use their own tools to finish the job! Steven assembled four IKEA bookcases with doors for me, he was very professional, neat and efficient. He finished everything within three hours, and the result was perfect. The price was very reasonable, cheaper then if I had IKEA sent workers to come over.
