DO NOT BUY FROM JIMMY HENDERSON CONSTRUCTION! The homes are built in less than 45 days and aren't…read moreproperly inspected. We moved in August of 2014 and began having problems with our dryer not working properly. The dryer would not heat, and our laundry room would turn into a sauna. We tried everything we could think of to fix it until the heating coils finally died and we had to buy a new one. Skip forward a couple of months, and our new dryer starts behaving the same way. We checked the vent outside and it was not clogged but completely flooded with water. On January 6, 2015, we contacted the builder as they are supposed to fix any warranty issues within the first two years. They sent someone out to fix it without telling us they were there or what work was being done to fix the problem. They never gave us the option to be home when the work was being done. I never could get a straight answer as to what was done, but the issue seemed to stop, so I let it go. Less than a month later, our dryer vent started flooding once more. My husband went outside with an 8-gallon Shopvac and filled it three times pulling water out; more than 24 gallons of water was in the dryer vent. The builder then came out and replaced the piece that sits on top of the vent outside and blamed the flooding on the rain that we had had recently. Once again, we received no notification that the work had been done, nor what they did. This proceeds to go back and forth several more times over two years with no real resolution until we decided to pull the water out ourselves and not deal with a headache that was Jimmy Henderson II Construction. On February 11, 2018, our dryer vent became so flooded that it started to overflow IN my laundry room. At this point, my husband and I decided to look at what the building code was for the dryer vent in the state of Florida. According to our measurements, the dryer vent was 27' long, and the maximum length according to Florida Building Code was 25'. So the water coming into the pipe is not groundwater, but CONDENSATION. I called and had two plumbing companies give us estimates to fix the vent. One refused even to provide us with an estimate and the other quoted upwards of $5K to fix it. The construction company refuses to come out and said that they would discuss it in a meeting and get back to us. Four months later I get an email stating that they are closing my complaint because I did not respond to an email a week prior. I check everything in my email, and no such email had ever been sent to me. On June 14th the City of Crestview Building Department supervisor comes to my house and CONFIRMS that the dryer vent is 2 feet over what the building code allows. He told us that it has to be rerouted through the roof. The man assured me that they would take care of it as they did not build it correctly. On June 20th, Tony Harkleroad calls and tells me they're going to be gluing the vent cover on the exterior pipe, but says nothing about rerouting the dryer as the inspector said was necessary. I let him know that they will be rerouting the dryer and nothing else and he agrees. The same day they had a roofer come to my house, drill a hole in my roof, and put on a boot vent. The next day workers came over to work on the interior updates. They never came back to clean up their mess and never told me that it was complete. I received a call from Denise Gaskin today asking me to sign off on some warranty paperwork that I am satisfied with the work performed and nothing else will be completed. I told her that I would be happy to sign it once they have provided me with a copy of the building permit and inspection. It turns out they never pulled a permit (even though one was required) and are refusing to not only pull one but are also refusing to have the work inspected. His employees were instructed today to long answer any of my calls. He did wrong and will not make up for it.

After fixing my kitchen ceiling light, he inspected my attic (I wanted to be sure no varmints were up there, etc.) and handled a couple of other projects. Rob is knowledgeable, professional, and a pleasure to work with, as was Andrew, the first young man who repaired and fixed several things needing repair around the house. We also asked them to replumb the under sink drain. $580...ok no problem, small price to pay to have it done professionally, right? wrong. leaks in the drain, which was some corrugated crap kit their "installer" picked up somewhere, leaks in the supply lines. was getting no hot water at the sink. Called to address the issue. they sent out the same guy and he said we must have a bad water heater. Some coincidence that the water heater died at the same time. We said, ok, need a new water heater. Bought one at HD and had a reputable plumbing company install it. Also had them replumb the drain under the kitchen sink the right way to do away with the leaking issue. Still no hot water at the sink the next day. called the plumbing company back out and they took another look at the faucet installation by Honey Do. The Honey Do installer had reversed the supply lines. Hot to the cold side and cold to the hot side. Lesson learned. Tried to contact them to request a partial refund. No email, no call, no text I'm a disabled Veteran with severe physical limitations on a fixed income and really couldn't afford the $1500 that we had to come up with to fix the problems caused by incompetent installers from Honey Do. Use them at your own risk.

This team is absolutely the best. We had a wild transition moving cross country to the Northwest…read moreFlorida area and the home we purchased desperately needed upgrading and improvements. The team first talked to us, then did a video review of the property pre-purchase, then did a very thorough mock up of some ideas, then met in person to measure and talk more--all this before we hired them! The one aspect of the move that needed zero micromanaging was their work, and it was done with care, precision, respect for our budget and joint vision, and even with our needing 2 days to get the moving truck in place to move in and pause their progress. Great ideas for ceiling fans, flooring choices, new molding, light fixtures, too. There was a great, easy contract to sign, we stuck to the budget and yet, when we needed to expand on 1 particular area of the home that needed adjustments, we worked to find creative solutions that stayed on track and within the slightly expanded budget. They were so upbeat, neat, respectful of the home and space, reliable, and went above and beyond. The end results are gorgeous! We have more yet to do and in a little while when we get settled into place, we will hire them for the next phase. We checked out a few local contractors before hiring these amazing ladies and their team, too, and we are so happy we did. Our home has already increased in value with these added changes and renovations, too-- for reference they filled in a partial wall to enclose a room, built gorgeous custom shelving to create a walk-in closet, worked for solutions to install 2 sets of awesome custom shelving in strangely-shaped closets already in the home, installed new lighting and switches in 3 rooms, replaced outdated molding, installed a pocket door, painted hallways and several rooms and molding, advised and installed or oversaw installs of new flooring and ceiling fans, cut beautiful bench seating and shelving for the new space off the brand new enclosed room, and came up with awesome solutions for helping fuse what was being changed in the home with what already exists here. We could go on and on about how pleased we are. Hire these folks!
