Addie knows every single person, vendor, and reputation in the NC wedding world. She will tell you why they will and why they won't work for you- and give you honest direction. She is reputable and people know her name for the right reasons. We considered it insurance in our investment when we realized that every vendor we contacted after her had nothing but good things to say. Networking really matters and there were more than a handful of times where working with Addie significantly benefitted us when it came to business doings with other vendors. Addie is assertive, personable, likable, directive, organized, and timely. She excels as a wedding planner. Her problem-solving skills are untouched. She shrinks everything to size and comes up with solutions and backup plans on the spot. I can't imagine what it would take to frazzle her- she is so confident and well versed in what she does. Do NOT book your private event with Oak City Events! We hosted our welcome party at The Avenue and…read moreit was a disaster from start to finish. Alexis made big promises, but completely failed to deliver. Communication was poor throughout the planning process, and I had to chase her for basic details about our bar package--details she clearly didn't even know. The day of the event, no one was there at our scheduled drop-off time, forcing us to leave décor outside unattended. When we arrived to set up, nothing was where we had agreed during our walkthrough. The champagne wall wasn't up, welcome table was missing, and the bar menus Alexis designed weren't out. Then she lied and claimed those signature drinks suddenly weren't included in our package (despite previously confirming they were in writing) and the bar didn't even have the right ingredients for them. Our event started and guests arrived before setup was complete. The staff put champagne in wine and whiskey glasses (when our contract clearly states we'd get champage glasses), our slideshow wasn't playing, and the "complimentary desserts" we were promised never appeared. AND the WORST part- A sober and pregnant guest was served alcohol when she ordered a Shirley Temple! HOW does that even happen?!? That is beyond negligent and dangerous, there is NO excuse!! Alexis blamed me (the bride) for the confusion and chaos, when I was the only one keeping the day on track and her team clearly dropped the ball. She was nowhere to be found when guests arrived, despite promising she'd be there to greet them and hand out drink our tokens. Bottom line: they're disorganized, dishonest, and unprofessional. Save yourself the stress--do not book your event with them!

I would like to…read moreclassify myself as an easygoing bride, however, there are a lot of decisions to be made you don't even think about. Nicole was there every step of the way. She gave her input on different ideas and worked within our budget. My Husband and I didn't stress about anything. I felt like the attention she gave me that I was the only bride she was dealing with. She kept me updated with her conversations with other vendors. She was extremely efficient with responding to my questions. and emails. Looking back, I do not know how people plan weddings without a professional planner. I am so happy Nicole planned my reception, and she will be used again. Obviously, not for another wedding of mine, but future showers and parties.

She was amazingly responsive and always had a solution to any issues that arose. She was honest and forthcoming about all of the choices we made and what she recommended. She helped us through an unfortunate venue space change 3 months before our wedding; working to get us a refund from our first venue and working closely with our new venue to ensure we had what we needed to keep our wedding on track. She was even the person to flag to us that we needed to change our first venue; the best decision we made leading up to our wedding and we are forever grateful that she cared enough about us and our wedding day to help us make that tough decision. She kept a long check list for us to work through so we felt more in control and less overwhelmed with all there was to do before a wedding; and she was always available for questions with immediate options so you never felt lost. The day of the wedding, everything went seamlessly. She ensured everything including our custom alter and quick venue flip from ceremony to reception was flawless. She organized and coordinated with all of our vendors to ensure they had all questions answered and needs met to be successful. She and her assistant were on top of everything at the reception from what time we needed speeches to start to where gifts needed to go (we didn't ask for any so had no place for them) to managing the flip to how much we were spending on our bar tab. We had several relatives come up to us and say "I am not sure how much you paid for Bliss to be here but she was worth every penny" and "Your coordinator is amazing". We could not agree more. Bliss even went above and beyond to organize taking our decor to a storage unit we had booked nearby since we left for our honeymoon the next morning. This made our wedding even more stress free as we did not have to worry about what to do with everything that night. She was amazing every step of the way and we always felt taken care of. The day of was completely stress free and we did not have to worry about anything. She truly made our day perfect. We would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a seamless wedding.
