Clean, nicely decorated rooms with comfortable bed, marble bathroom, closet, safe, large flat screen tv, wifi, beautiful terrace restaurant with excellent food and spectacular view of the city, and the most incredible themed private spas I've ever seen anywhere. Friendly, attentive staff, excellent breakfast in the ground floor dining room. Fridge, coffee maker in room, hair dryer, shampoo and shower gel provided. Super convenient location in Trastevere. The tram that goes to and from the station near the Altare Della Patria stops right across the street from this hotel. On Sunday mornings there's a huge flea market in the plaza across the street. read more

I was so pleased with this hotel, I couldn't wait to write reviews about how amazing our whole experience was! I stayed at the Trilussa Palace Hotel in February 2012 because all the reviews I read about the various hotels in Rome, this one seemed to have the best prices for being a nice hotel in a great location. What I didn't know when I was booking this hotel is that they apparently have a brand new spa (called Moon Spa) that just opened at the beginning of the month. We were traveling with one other family and wanted to figure out something to do for the kids to have fun together while we can relax with the other parents and all have a good time. Once we saw the spa we immediately knew this would be perfect to be able to supervise the kids while we sat back, relaxed, and even joined in on the fun every once in a while ourselves. So when we first walked into the spa, you see a huge jacuzzi that's almost as big as a pool (and the pool/jacuzzi has lounge beds BUILT IN to the seats) and for on the wall above the pool/jacuzzi you can select different music videos to play on the speakers and the image projects onto the wall which the kids loved because there is a built in iPad with a selection of different music videos and if you have an iPhone, you can dock your phone to play your own music which the kids had a blast with. On that same wall if you don't want the image to show, you can also choose to have water streaming down the wall like a waterfall built into the wall. I suppose this is for a more romantic setting which we didn't get to take advantage of on this trip, but we will be sure to for the next trip. There is also a steam room where you can also customize the music and lighting inside there as well. Outside of the steam room there are lounge chairs where we were able to relax and talk while the kids were playing in the pool/jacuzzi and the staff even put a chilled bottle of champagne on ice for us. We couldn't believe how modern and accommodating the spa and the staff was. The best part about this whole experience is you make private reservations so the entire spa is yours for as long as you want the reservation to be. The beautiful spa made an already beautiful hotel that much better. We can't wait to come back to Rome and stay here and I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the area! read more

We stayed here 5 days and loved it. Convenient, clean, and hospitable staff. Room amenities include free Wi-Fi, cable TV, handy smart phone ( smartphone that lets you make local and international calls for free, you can take it with you during your day trips for directions, reservations etc), US 110v plugs, powerful hair dryer, rooftop bar, spa, gym, safe in the room, clean comfortable beds. I'm a little late with this review, but I'm laying in bed reminiscing about my Europe trip and reviewing the hotels and restaurants seems like the best thing to do! This hotel is great. The prices are unbelievable and it's located in a place that's not very touristy. Every night we walked a 10-15 minute walk to the heart of the city where the best food is at! Anddd there's free wifi!!! Right across the street was a bus station too so we could easily hop on/off to our location. You can also buy 100 minute passes at the front desk! (And only €1.50!!!!!) The people at the front desk are so sweet and helpful. They even gave us pointers on the best places to eat. They also gave us detailed instructions (including the bus numbers) on how to get to the main attractions. And did I mention there's free wifi?! I love Rome. The Trevi Fountain was closed for repairs but I mentally tossed that coin in. I'll be back Roma, and I would definitely stay here again!! read more

This hotel is awesome!!! My first visit to Rome and I was so lucky to have found the Trilussa Palace Hotel on Hotels.com They are a short cab drive to all sites in Rome. 5 mins without traffic to the Vatican! Massimo drove us from the airport to the hotel in his shuttle. He was waiting for us with a sign where we retrieved our luggage from our flight. It was quite a relief to see his smiling and friendly face! He assisted with our bags and was parked very close by. He drove us to the airport on the way back. About a 40 min trip. The hotel staff at the front desk were gracious hosts and accommodating. Refined and professional. They arrange for airport transportation and there was always someone available to assist with questions we had. They also arranged our spa services and went out of their way to make sure we got the dates and times we needed. My cousin and I had two massages each. We reserved one hot tub room for 90 mins on another day. Their hotel pictures are very accurate to the actual site. Please see my pics! The room was very clean and they had someone come in daily to freshen it up. Also, a super high speed hair dryer. As an american a great hair dryer provided by any european hotel will get an extra star! There is a lovely lounge bar on the top floor. We had drinks and appetizers a few evenings. Prices are very fair. There are coffee and pastry shops in short walking distance and small convenience stores. A pharmacy about 3 blocks down in case you need cold medications or toiletries. We stayed in late Oct. when the weather is mild and similar to California weather. Less tourist that time of year! We visited all tourist spots and because we did guided tours we avoided long lines. Viator.com has all that info. I suggest arranging a tour for the Vatican or the lines will be very long. I also recommend doing a Red Bus tour at least one day. You can hop off and on. See the entire city all day if you want. I love Rome so much, and can't wait to return. I give this hotel 6 stars as they made me feel safe and comfortable. Grazie! Grazie! read more

This boutique hotel and spa is a gem, truly exceptional! So many things about this hotel were delightful surprises, surpassing our expectations. My husband and I came here for a special family occasion but also enjoyed it as a romantic vacation. Friendly, helpful, personable, professional service from the multilingual staff and management made us feel like VIPs. A special shout out to the multilingual Carolina, who was very helpful to us. My husband and I stayed here for two weeks and loved our beautiful, spacious suite with super comfortable adjustable bed, cute balcony with a nice view, lovely and spacious marble bathroom with a great shower with three options - rain shower head, hand-held spray and a triple body spray in the wall. Walls were upholstered with elegant, brocade fabric. We were so happily surprised by the great hot breakfast buffet, far superior to the continental breakfast typical in European hotels. It was included in the rate for our higher category room, and I recommend choosing that option - an American-style breakfast is not easy to find in Rome and it's so much more convenient to eat at the hotel. Up on the large, covered terrace on top of the building we enjoyed the expansive view of the city, and in the evening relaxed there with drinks prepared and served by their delightful mixologist, Shafik. It was the favorite place for our group to hang out. This hotel is a nice destination in itself! Downstairs there are two spas. and my husband and I reserved a private hour in their beautiful, amazing Moon Spa with its large, jetted pool, sauna and steam room, lounges and relaxing ambiance, champagne on ice just for us, far better than anything we have seen in any hotel anywhere. Do yourself a favor and book a relaxing massage here, also! Never in my life had I had one that was so relaxing that I actually fell asleep on the table. The Trilussa is super conveniently located near restaurants, delis and sightseeing in Trastevere and for going elsewhere in the city. The reception staff will call a taxi for you but the hotel is also very conveniently located by the #8 Tram stop and bus stops made for an easy and economical way to get to the historic center of Rome. We were so sad to leave, but hope to return; we wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. read more

Overall: Don't stay here. I am spending 2 nights at Trilussa Palace Hotel with my girlfriend on a Saturday and Sunday night at the end of May, 2016. First off, welcoming reception. We spent hours getting from Capri to Rome on Saturday. Ferries, trains, cabs. Needless to say we were exhausted upon arrival. We arrive at the hotel after our 25 € cab ride from Termini station. Our first impression is tacky. There were older women roaming around the lobby in spa robes when we arrived around 11pm/23:00. We were greeted by a nice, smiling man behind the front desk. After confirming our prepaid room via hotel.com (which he said was Expedia) he mentioned adding continental breakfast buffet for only 12 € more per person per day, saying it was not already included at our rate. I asked about eggs and he informed me that would be an extra charge, not included in the buffet. He then offered to upgrade our room. In fact he recommended it. There was a Superior room available "which books months in advance" and it would only be an additional 30 € a night and would include the continental breakfast. Look, I'm exhausted, I want nice, welcoming, FREE offers upon my arrival. Not up charges! If I want to purchase a croissant and coffee for breakfast I will walk down the street and go to a bakery and get something nice and fresh. Finally he mentioned something about discounting my luggage, I gave him a look, and he just sent us to our room. No luggage charge. I will, however, have to pay the "Rome" tax of another 6 € a person a night at the end of our stay. We get to our room. Of course it looks nothing like the glamorous pro pics on Yelp or Trip Advisor or Hotels.com. It's small. The walls are covered in an orange pleather that's been stapled to the wall and has black stains all around most of the fixtures throughout the room. The room smells a mildewy. So we turn on the air. Within an hour the digital air control says "HELP" and is no longer controllable. It does this throughout our stay. The bathroom: looks nice at first glance. Once you get past all the useless switches in here (and throughout the room), the blow dryer is the nicest feature. The complimentary "soaps" are two little bottles of shower gel. A small bar of soap for the bidet and one for the hand sink. The vent in the bathroom doesn't work. The shower has a useless string pull switch in it. The shower door is finicky and doesn't always stay shut, guaranteeing you a nice puddle on your crowded bathroom floor. The towels are so fresh they smell of vinegar.. and they shed. The next day, Sunday, after a long day of walking around Rome, I approached the kind lady behind the desk to ask about the spa. It appeared she wanted me to already know exactly what to ask for when what I was looking for was general information. A little back and forth later she informed me that the spa rooms were fully booked for the day but that she might be able to find something at the regular rate, not the guest rate. Really? I don't need to pay 135 € to use a "private spa room" for an hour at a hotel I'm already paying for. Thanks. Also, masseuse isn't in house until noon in Monday, which is after I check out and fly back out. I haven't bothered with the roof bar. I just don't care at this point. Better things to do around here then hang at this hotel. Perhaps if they spent more money on their rooms and guests and less on their marble lobby and funky, family friendly "spa rooms" that are booked by outside patrons they would have happier guests. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed a week at the Trilussa and loved it! The room was beautiful, clean, the bed was super comfy, the staff was lovely and helpful. Our stay was across the board fantastic and what really stood out was the spa. We tried the new Roman themed spa the night before we left. I couldn't believe we had the whole thing to ourselves, it was amazing amazing amazing! I'm kicking myself for not trying it earlier. + Actual full hairdryers in the wall, such a big plus. + Hotel breakfast was a full buffet with pretty much everything, and fresh orange juicer to boot. + Rooftop bar is a beautiful setting both day and night, the bartender was a cool personable guy. We spent a lot of time up there. + gym on the spa floor - we at all the things so this was a nice thing to have near + Location: IMO Trastevere is one of the best neighborhoods to stay in while visiting Rome. It's close to the sites but not too close. Taxis can get expensive and the hotel is next to the metro which takes you right to the center and it's super easy to get around. The area surrounding Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere is lovely during the day and fun to walk around/drink during the night. Pucci and Roma Sparita had the best caccio e pepe of the places we tried. There's an American breakfast spot about 10 min walk called Home baked in case you miss bagel sandwiches, and if you're up for wandering, Villa Sciarra is a beautiful park on the way from the hotel to Home baked. Trilussa was the perfect place for us, looking forward to coming back. Happy travels! read more

This hotel was a great find! We were so happy to have found it. It is very conveniently located! Close to all the great sites, colosseum, Vatican, pantheon, treve fountain... many more! Tram right out front. Hotel itself was very nice. We had a deluxe level which included full buffet breakfast which definitely exceeded our expectations. Eggs, bacon, oh my gosh! The bacon! So good! Fresh orange juice machine. That was super fun- oranges in juice out. Let's not forget the cappuccino or espresso freshly made and brought to you. Very nice. Hospitality was also exceptional. They treated us like gold. Our room was clean, comfy, and beautiful. The spa rental was a splurge but so worth it. You have to experience it for yourself. I don't think I can put into words how spectacular it was. It's a whole room with therapeutic showers, seating, a hot tub the size of a swimming pool, etc. Very special. My husband and I were in heaven. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you hotel staff for making our dream vacation all we hoped it to be. read more

After a long, turbulent and delayed flight. My boyfriend and I finally land in Italy. It was late, it was our first times there and we were completely exhausted. It's easy to say, we are fly from the seat of pants type of people. Especially in this case, where we thought it would be fun/spontaneous, to simply stumble upon a great hotel once we arrive. Long story short. We found ourselves in the middle of the night, on a dark cobble road, with all of our checked-bag-size luggage (mostly mine) in a foreign place we had never been before! Our phones about to die. Frustrations and panic on high. We called as many hotels, inns and hostels as we possibly could. They all refused to take us because it was after midnight. At one point we were truly losing hope. Not until we heard the absolutely wonderful, warm and life-saving voice on the end of the line when we luckily called Trilussa Palace. Simoné, who works the night shift, was by far one of the kindest humans we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He immediately saw the relief through our droopy eyed faces. Ensured we were comfortable, fed and made everything as easy as possible. He mentioned Trilussa breakfast was pretty lovely. It was incredibly phenomenal!!! Cappuccinos and fresh honey off the comb! We ended up extending our stay the rest of the week. The location was perfect. The rooms, cozy and clean. We enjoyed the rooftop bar, the magical, luxurious, very much worthwhile spa and every single one of the employees who work there. Simoné in particular! We will never forget and will undoubtedly be back! Thank you for making this trip so special for us. We love you! Wish I could give more stars :) read more
