Great little spot on the Trinity, riverfront campsites are very tightly spaced (wouldn't want to be camping next to anyone loud) but the views from the campsites are great. Fantastic beach in the campground in a slow portion of the river for the kids to swim. Facilities are nice, and the store has necessities should you forget anything. The Tap (bar in the campground) is a very fun spot to spend a Friday or Saturday night, locals are quite colorful and very friendly. Only drawback is that it's pretty much right on Highway 299, but if you're camped close to the river the sound of the water drowns out any road noise. Great spot to camp if you happen to be rafting with any of the outfits that use Big Bar as a launching point for rafting trips. read more
