I don't often review campgrounds but so many people commented on specific sites and no one…read morecommented on Site 11, which is the one I booked this weekend so here you go future bookers: We were able to fit two single backpacking tents and two larger two person tents but both the official tent spot and our unofficial spot had notable, but tolerable slopes as noted multiple times in reviews. There is a parking spot for site 11 across the campground road near a pit toilet. Flush toilets are located on the other side of the parking lot, which is right next to site 10. Site 10 seemed like it had a nice lake view. You can see the lake through the trees from site 11. There are no bear boxes! You store food and toiletries in your car at night. Wing wildlife included mosquitoes (light), yellow jackets (heaviest mid morning), and very loud cicadas. My ears were ringing like I went to a loud concert. I have to assume that's seasonal. There's a "boat launch" past the flush toilets near the tent cabins that was nice for setting up a few camp chairs and entering the water in floaties. There were a few other beaches further on but they were full. There was a kerfuffle over an inflatable kayak while we were there so keep an eye on your things! The lake was shockingly not ice cold like many CA lakes I've been in but it was also 100 degrees out. We stayed in for hours. So nice! Intimate campground with sloped sites and nice lake access- overall a pleasant stay!

Some feedback on the campground: - The glamping site bed is super comfortable. We fell asleep instantly and got woken up next day by the morning sun. - The glamping sites are set up well, have enough space, each come with a fire pit, 2 plastic chairs, 2 wooden chairs, a full table + benches and a LED lantern. - The bathrooms at are clean, flush toilets. The ranger is re-stocking toilet paper daily. Big plus! - There are no showers at the campground. Good news is that you can simply take a swim in the lake :) - There's no cell phone reception (AT&T, at least) once you leave Redding. - This is a pretty small campground, which is really nice because you have a lot of space and it's not too crowded. As with any campground, it can still be noisy with kids or other neighbors that talk at night. You might want to bring earplugs if you don't fall asleep easily. I've heard about this park a few times from fellow camping buddies. I've heard only good things…read moreand I've come to learn from a recent camping adventure to the park that the good things I heard were all valid. So there are a few campgrounds that are part of this county park. I am reviewing for the group campground, Pamplin Grove, but will mention another campground nearby that we showered at. The teardrop trailer group held their event at Pamplin Grove and to find out this was not the first time. But, it was for me and my the first time to attend the event and camp at the campground. It is a difficult entrance to notice if you are not paying close attention. Because of the natural habitat it is a challenge to locate the entrance but noticing the paved road will help guide you in. This is a beautiful spot and if you ever get a group invite to camp here, do it! It is gated so you will be given a combination to enter. As you drive in you will notice camping areas, they are not numbered. It is on a first come, first served basis. When you drive in you will find some signs/bulletin boards with info. You will eventually come to an open area, and off to the right you will see an open field which we were told is called the, Meadow. There is only one entrance and exit and that will be found towards the end of the trail. Cars can pull into the field and is open to camping there. We were told at one time that about 120 trailers attended and filled the campground! This time around, we were only 40 trailers and camping vans. There are two areas that have pit potties. The bathrooms have motion lights inside, doors with lock. It is very spacious and was always supplied with plenty of TP. Water spigots outside of bathroom to wash hands. There is a couple bathrooms next to each other on the lower part of the campground and another couple at the upper part of the campground which is also near the Camp Kitchen, Picnic area , and large fire pit. BBQ grills are need the the Camp Kitchen .There is also a BBQ pit! The kind that is underground. It was not used at this event but I heard it had been used in the past. I can't express the beauty of this spot! Oh and near by there is a short trail to get to the river. We found wild blackberries on the way to the riverbed. We could hear the birds but were difficult to find, except for the vultures. Banana slugs were also visible, pretty interesting. You should google it for more info. The yellow of the slug was vibrant. I event found one that had spots. Please be kind and leave them be. We did drive to the Swimmer's Delight campground to take showers (quarter operated). It was nice to have a warm shower with good pressure. Pamplin Grove is a non hook up (dry)campground. Also no showers. We did bring our portable shower, but when it came to washing my hair we visited the other campground for showers. There is a camp host located at the lower part of the campground. When you are in the trees it is pitch dark! Walk into the meadow at night and go star gazing. TIP - Upper bathroom you tend to get a whiff of it once in awhile if you are near the bathroom. So if you camp in the upper part you may want to keep this in mind. Also they said they try their best to keep the area poison oak free, but once in awhile you will see them, so be on the lookout where you and your pet walk. Please, Please be aware of the Loggers and people that drive this route. Especially when you are entering the campground. They follow close at high speed.

The team is awesome! The grounds are super clean and very well maintained. The spots are perfect. We have stayed in the large cabins, small cabins, trailer spots, tenting spots, and the glamping tents. We prefer the Steelhead and Salmon larger cabins and the glamping tents, or our own camper. There is so much fun to be had, or you can just relax in the peace and quiet and disconnect. The river access is easy and short, might be a challenge for folks that have mobility issues, but there is always the pool! The new owner has updated a lot of the infrastructure over the past several years, including satellite internet, so if you have to or need to work or get connected, it is not an issue. We recommend Del Loma and are consistent in referring people and families to go and check it out. Such a great family focussed place to escape. ~Casey & family~

The kids spent most of the time playing in the river and my wife and I just spent our time at the RV or up at the bar having some drinks when it was open. The RV camp spot rentals were very affordable and the general store had pretty much everything we could possibly need without massively jacked up prices like at other RV places we have stayed. First of all, the scencery is absolutely stunning. It's pretty easy to drive through the park and pop out at scenic spots for a view of the ocean (such as Wedding Rock, so named as a beautiful spot for a wedding). There's also wonderful hiking, including the Rim Trail and the path down to Agate Beach. Also... beachcombing camping learning about the history of the area at the Visitor Center biking nature photography and much more! There is an entrance fee; however, if you avail yourself of the California State Park Library Pass, it's free! Either way, definitely worth a vist.

It is nothing like the beaches in SoCal which is everything that I wanted to experience. I enjoyed how cool the weather was and the smells of the clean, crisp air. It was just under $10 to visit for the day and we spent about an hour solely taking in the views. Overall, highly recommend if you are in this neck of the woods.

Bathrooms were a slight uphill walk from the site with running water, so so on cleanliness. Potable water were by each site maybe two sites per faucet. 138 is furthest from the entrance about 0.7 miles from the camp site entrance. $10 for wood bundle which you buy by the campsite entrance. A lovely camping weekend. Pretty private because the redwood trees block the view between sites and we were lucky that the neighboring sites were empty most of the weekend.
