I HAD to go back to this because it's such an amazing experience. I'm sure they do more than "Fall Foliage" trips but that's when I visited in the past. Despite my best efforts in the past to do Fall train rides, which turned out to be disappointing only because there was never any good colors on trees, this by far is the very best fall foliage experience I've ever had in my life. You get great views of the tree color transitions and just great photo opportunities. It does get cold on the water so bring a jacket. Experience is as excellent as last time with beverages and snacks for purchase. If you enjoy fall colors, great scenery and boats then you have to do this at least once. read more

Wifey and I needed a weekend away from the muggy city during all the chaos of Covid-19. This was the hidden gem of the weekend! We set sail on Saturday afternoon for an hour and half long tour of the river. For those coming from this city, this is the Hudson like you've never seen it. We watched bald eagles fish, took some great photos of the scenery, all while sipping on some local cocktails. Really fun boat ride, well run and organized, everything was spot on time. Great refreshments on board, informative (but not overwhelming) narration of what we were cruising past. The boat itself was comfortable and very appropriately sized for the excursion. The boat captain was also very adept at steering us perpendicular to other boats' wakes to minimize roll and keep the boat nice and steady. I would definitely put this on my list of things for visitors to do in the Hudson Valley! My son, granddaughter, and I enjoyed a wonderful cruise to the Bear Mountain Bridge and back. On the way north the captain and mate gave us interesting information about the history of important sites as we passed them. On the way back they played nice music. The boat is a former buoy tender, small and compact. There are beverages and snacks for sale, but I imagine you could bring your own if you wished. The captain and his "mate" were charming, answered questions, and made us feel "at home" on their little boat. We were a group of 10 people with a boat trip booked for the afternoon. It was raining hard that day, and I received a call from them in the morning suggesting to change the tickets to the sunset ride (at no extra cost; those are more expensive) because of the rain. We accepted. The rain stopped and the sun came out just before boarding. We had a great time with the amazing views, jazz music, and well-made alcoholic drinks available for purchase. My experience with Trinity Cruise exceeded everything I had hoped for. The crew went above and beyond to make the trip from Peekskill to the Bear Mountain Bridge a magical time for two classes of non verbal special education students. Several of the students were in wheelchairs. The wheelchairs were patiently and carefully lifted onto the boat. Wonderful, intimate boat ride. It starts and ends in pretty Peekskill Bay. The staff were low key, helpful and well-informed - the perfect combo. When we went in the COVID era, only six small groups were allowed per ride, so very few people aboard, which made for a spacious, relaxing journey up the Hudson. Our 8 and 10 year olds joined us and loved it so much they've been begging to do it again. We will! read more

I finally was able to get my family to go on this boat with me which Iv'e been wanting to do since I saw it always dock at the riverfront years ago. I took my family and Nan on the boat last night for my parent's anniversary. Of course it just happened to be the first evening in October that managed to drop down to 50 or below but we stuck it out! I bought the amazon local deal back in May or June and sadly it would have been much nicer had we used it in Aug or Sept but hey, it is what it is. The captain Mary Pat is amazing and made us feel safe and very comfortable and even gave some commentary about the river and surrounding Peekskill, Bear Mountain, Iona Island-- plus! It was very windy and since it was a chilly night already the breeze coming off the water made it feel like it dropped another ten degrees. She took the boat south as if we were going towards the city but just went in a wide turn to take us up toward bear mountain and under the bridge by Manitou. On board, you get a complimentary drink of hot chocolate or cider and they also have soda, water, beer wine and chips for sale if you didn't bring anything. (You can bring your own snack and non-alc drinks as well.) The boat isn't very large but big enough to hold around 30-40 ppl and it was about half full. She offered blankets to everyone too which was a great touch. I would say my only recommendation would be to get small heaters and are safe around water (if thats possible) and children (don't get too hot) and maybe put them on the floor so that your feet could try and keep warm. Otherwise besides being a bit chilled it was a great hour and a half boat tour and next year I would definitely come back with friends during the summer to experience a nice sunset or even do an afternoon 3 hour day tour :) Oh and a side note to parents who think its okay to let your three wild young boys run amuck on the boat while you ignore them.... I'm throwing any rogue, irritating kids overboard next time. It's not cool to the captain, crew or passengers that irresponsible parents can't keep their children under wraps. I would def approve if the Captain only let kids 10 and over on board. One vote from me!! read more

A Saturday Night Sunset Cruise resulted in a very pleasant and pleasurable experience. The hour and a half ride takes you under the Bear Mountain Bridge to Mystery Point as the sun sets over the mountains. Bring a camera as there are nice shots to be taken. Crew is friendly and full of smiles as beverages are offered at very reasonable prices. In fact the $22 per person ticket is beyond fair. A very pleasant way to spend an hour on the Hudson. The Hudson,in my opinion, is one of the most dramatic rivers in the world. Departing from Peekskill gives tourists an opportunity to see one of the river's most interesting points as the wide bend turns into a narrow fjord and passes the Bear Mountain Bridge. The boat is equipped with movable plastic chairs which are adequate for a short trip and the crew went out of their way to be accommodating. The meeting point is just a grassy area on the river and there is only a porta potty near by. read more

The only thing I didn't really like was that it wasn't narrarated to tell us certain spots on the ride. I think it makes it more interesting. Not to talk the whole time. Just points of interest. What a fabulous, reasonably priced way to travel up the Hudson River and learn a little history along the way. We had a rainy day, but the boat is covered, so it wasn't a huge problem. The haze actually gave the mountains a beautiful painterly feel. Loved the 90 minute ride from Peekskill up passed the Bear Mountain Bridge and West Point. I purchased a ride for 2 on the 11am cruise using Groupon and I'm glad I did. I went with my boyfriend and we sat to the rear of the boat. The ride is smooth. The crew is extremely friendly and helpful. The views are amazing and you even learn a bit of history. There's soda beer wine and snacks to purchase and you can bring your own food. The only con is us being a young couple in our twenties, most all the other riders were in there 40's and older. Other than that it was pretty great and I will probably do the sunset cruise next. read more

No word that can describe today's boat trip but perfection! It's our second year doing this trip for Father's Day and it didn't disappoint. The staff was beyond attentive and pleasant. This was a great tour. It was right off the Peekskill metro north station, which is convenient since I live in the city. The station/dock itself is in a very scenic part of town. I took the 3 hour hudson valley tour and it was phenomenal. The captain was in the coast guard and gave a very informative, detailed tour as we sailed towards Bear Mountain, West Point, Cold Spring and back. The boat ride was smooth and the crew was very friendly. I will definitely consider them again, but for the sunset cruise. They have food on board, and you can bring your own food as well if you desire. The snacks are all reasonably priced. The MTA offers a getaway package for this tour. It's called Evening Star Hudson River cruise, you have to call and reserve your spot on the cruise first, then book the package at Grand Central/125th St. There are signs at Peekskill station that direct you to the boat. The total cost for roundtrip rail and cruise was $43 from Grand Central, which is quite reasonable! I highly recommend taking this package for an ideal weekend or weekday day trip. read more
